And lest it be forgotten, here's what two prominent Palestinian Arabs have had to say on the subject of rapprochement with the Zionist Entity:
First, Hamas's Foreign Minister, Mahmoud Al-Zahar, in a television interview in July, translated by MEMRI:
"Palestine in its entirety is Islamic waqf land, which cannot be relinquished....
At this moment in time, we say to you, first of all: We want Palestine in its entirety - so there will not be any misunderstandings. If our generation is unable to achieve this, the next one will, and we are raising our children on this. Palestine means Palestine in its entirety, and Israel cannot exist in our midst."He explained that Hamas would view any Israeli withdrawal from the West Bank, or a compromise agreement with the Palestinian Authority as only a "first stage" towards the destruction of Israel in its entirety.
Second, Dr Nabil Shaath, the Palestinian Authority's Head of Foreign Relations, speaking on Lebanese television in July (translation also by MEMRI):
'The story of "two states for two peoples" means that there will be a Jewish people over there and a Palestinian people here. We will never accept this ...
We will not sacrifice the 1.5 million Palestinians with Israeli citizenship who live within the 1948 borders, and we will never agree to a clause preventing the Palestinian refugees from returning to their country. We will not accept this....
The recognition of a [Palestinian] state is basically a bilateral action, which receives the blessing of the UN. This act, however, will make many things possible in the future. Eventually, we will be able to sign bilateral agreements with states and this will enable us to exert pressure on Israel. At the end of the day, we want to exert pressure on Israel in order to force it to recognize us and to leave our country. This is our long-term goal."
Good article! Isn't it blogger courtesy to publish a courtesy linkback to my original article from which you extracted my original video? Thank you, DemoCast.com

Sorry - glad to give you your due. Great video, very instructive.
ReplyDeleteBut I found the video on YouTube - didn't find it on your blog - if I had I would certainly have acknowledged that fact.
ReplyDelete"it's not about land..."
ReplyDeleteExcellent video which really should be widely distributed.
I like the comment by the person who downloaded it to U-tube, especially the last bit:
"...So wether the Jews had a state in the middle east or any other part of planet earth - this would always be an issue for Islam.
It has been said that the reason there are no Arabs in space yet is because Jews have not laid any land claims on the moon...".
teehee.
@ democaster: the link to your blog doesn't seem to work.
The good doctor has touched upon one of the basic psyche of Muslims in general and Arab in particular and that is that ANY GESTURE OF GOODWILL IS INTEROPERATED AS WEAKNESS.
ReplyDeleteIsraelis have known it since before there was Israel and every time they ignore they own advice, they got their backside kicked.
I have first learnt it with my mother’s milk, you might say; my late mother who grew up in Palestine of the 1930’s in Hadera, a Jewish town surrounded by Arab villages had quite a few stories as to how they (the Jews in town) kept the peace with their Arab neighbours, so much so that those villages did not participate in the 1948 war and consequently remained intact.
But one does not have to go that far back; the second intifada (of 2000) erupted just as it seemed that peace is within reach and after Israel has done quite a few goodwill gestures towards the Palestinians and IMMEDIATELY AFTER Israel unilaterally withdrew from South Lebanon, which was perceived as weakness.
The same happened after Israel unilaterally evacuated the Gaza Strip in 2005, which needs no further elaboration.
What many westerners, particularly the PC brigade, fail to understand is that Muslims believe that everything is Allah’s will thus when you make a gesture of goodwill towards them, it is not because you are nice but because Allah weakened you and made you make a concession, therefore it is Allah and only him who deserve the gratitude and you deserve nothing but contempt.
Stand-by for the manifestation of this phenomena in Egypt and Libya – I think that the USA, the EU and NATO are for a rude surprise once things “settle down” there, if those are the words.
The same goes for all those western countries who shall support the Palestinian state resolution in the UN.
I tend to agree, Jacob.
