Eretz Israel is our unforgettable historic homeland...The Jews who will it shall achieve their State...And whatever we attempt there for our own benefit will redound mightily and beneficially to the good of all mankind. (Theodor Herzl, DerJudenstaat, 1896)

We offer peace and amity to all the neighbouring states and their peoples, and invite them to cooperate with the independent Jewish nation for the common good of all. The State of Israel is ready to contribute its full share to the peaceful progress and development of the Middle East.
(From Proclamation of the State of Israel, 5 Iyar 5708; 14 May 1948)

With a liberal democratic political system operating under the rule of law, a flourishing market economy producing technological innovation to the benefit of the wider world, and a population as educated and cultured as anywhere in Europe or North America, Israel is a normal Western country with a right to be treated as such in the community of nations.... For the global jihad, Israel may be the first objective. But it will not be the last. (Friends of Israel Initiative)

The Twelfth Imam Cometh ...

This video, which consists of edited and translated selections by Iranian former CIA operative Reza Khalili from the long original, was issued last year.

It takes on a fresh relevance given the recent remarks of Ayatollah Khamenei (on the right of this photo) to Arab youth from many countries, including Palestinians, as related in Reza Khalili's  article here

  1. Whilst the Muslim apocalyptic doctrine described here is the Shia Islam’s version, the doctrine is shared by all branches of Islam.

In a nutshell, according to the Muslim apocalyptic scenario, the Mahdi (the rightly guided one), who is the equivalent of the Jodeo-Christian Messiah, will return to Jerusalem at the end of days, together with Jesus (who is a Muslim of course), set his “headquarters” for the new caliphate in Jerusalem and proclaim the supremacy of Islam by smashing all the crosses in the world (Jesus will help there) and fight off the dajjal, the Muslim equivalent of Anti-Christ.

The video uses the (Persian) term “Bethol Maghadas” for “Jerusalem”; the Arabic equivalent is “Bayt-Al-Maqdis” – both terms are taken from the Hebrew name for the Temple – “Beith Hamikdash” albeit Islam denies the very existence of the Temple altogether.

The apocalyptic Islamic scenario, is the base for Islam claim to Jerusalem as holy city, it is despite the fact that JERUSALEM IS NOT MENTIONED IN THE KORAN, NOT EVEN ONCE!

Notwithstanding, Islam claim to Jerusalem is based on INTERPRETATION of Muhammad’s vision of his “night journey” (or ascension); sura 17:1 of the Koran says:

“Glory be to Him Who made His servant to go on a night from the Sacred Mosque to the remote mosque of which We have blessed the precincts, so that We may show to him some of Our signs; surely He is the Hearing, the Seeing.”

The Sacred Mosque is in Mecca and the remote (Al Aqsa) Mosque is said to be in Jerusalem; EXCEPT THAT there were NO MOSQUES in Jerusalem in Muhammad lifetime or when the so-called “night Journey” suppose to have taken place (when Muhammad died in 632) – The earliest historical record for a simple wooden structured mosque on Temple Mount is around 679 BC (46 years later) – the Al Aqsa Mosque as we know it, with a dome, was built much later.

Apocalyptic Islam also believes that global chaos and Muslims held Jerusalem are precondition for the arrival of the Mahdi. Mahmud Ahmadinejad truly believes that Allah selected him and the mullahs to bring about those preconditions.

But this is only part of the story; the real political power in Iran is not with the president but with current supreme leader, the Ayatollah Khamenei (not to be confused with Khomeini). Khamenei, according to Iranian propaganda, is believed to be deputy to the Mahdi and he is said to travel to the sky (I kid you not) once a year to meet with the Mahdi and confer with him as to what has to be further done to prepare for the Mahdi coming – the continuation of the nuclear program is apparently a wish of the Mahdi.

Thus Iran’s threats to “wipe Israel off the map”, close the Straits of Hormuz, attack the US on and off its soil, the continuation of the development of nuclear weapon all fit into the apocalyptic scenario and MUST BE viewed in this context.

To that extent, the current economic sanctions against Iran are useless political window dressing – the current Iranian regime would NEVER succumb to the wishes of the infidel in contradiction to the wishes of the Mahdi, no matter how much hardship such sanctions may bring.

  2. Thanks for that long explanation, Jacob - which I did not notice straight away, since it had suffered the indignity of going to the Spam folder on here!
