Eretz Israel is our unforgettable historic homeland...The Jews who will it shall achieve their State...And whatever we attempt there for our own benefit will redound mightily and beneficially to the good of all mankind. (Theodor Herzl, DerJudenstaat, 1896)

We offer peace and amity to all the neighbouring states and their peoples, and invite them to cooperate with the independent Jewish nation for the common good of all. The State of Israel is ready to contribute its full share to the peaceful progress and development of the Middle East.
(From Proclamation of the State of Israel, 5 Iyar 5708; 14 May 1948)

With a liberal democratic political system operating under the rule of law, a flourishing market economy producing technological innovation to the benefit of the wider world, and a population as educated and cultured as anywhere in Europe or North America, Israel is a normal Western country with a right to be treated as such in the community of nations.... For the global jihad, Israel may be the first objective. But it will not be the last. (Friends of Israel Initiative)

Isi Leibler Interviewed Regarding A Nuclear Iran (video)

"Iran is a genuine existential threat to us ... and the whole of Western civilisation," stresses the veteran Jewish leader and Jerusalem Post columnist in an interview with Mark Golub on Shalom TV. "I would like to believe the world is coming to its senses ...I do not believe that sanctions alone are going to stop these people."

  2. Thanks, Ian. I don't look at that site as often as I ought.

  3. Even the IAEA says Iran doesn't have Nukes. Even if it acquires nuclear weapons, it cannot match Israel's nuclear arsenal of over 200 weapons and the weapons of its chief sponsor USA.
At most, it will end the nuclear monopoly of Israel in the region. And much of western civilisation has no problems doing business with Iran. Nor did the US have any qualms about toppling the Mossadeh government and installing Reza Pahlavi as dictator.

    1. Funny how Saudi Arabia was never threatened by Israeli nuclear weapons.
Saudi Arabia threatens to go nuclear 'in weeks' if Iran gets bomb

  4. The difference is that Israel's is a rational regime that holds nuclear weapons for deterrent purposes. Iran's regime contains non-rational fanatics, as Leibler explains in the video. The belief in the coming of the Twelfth Imam, to be achieved through the unleashing of Armageddon, should give the entire world the chills, including Iran's Arab neighbours.

  5. I am very sure that many sit back in their warm nests, waiting for Israel "to do something", I have heard it from people who are not necessarily "judeophiles". But I must not remain on the high horse, because I too, think, that this gutsy little David that is Israel, is our only hope!

As to Obama? The jesuit saying comes to mind: "give me a child to the age of 7 and I give you the man" - ergo I think it would be advisable for Israel and all who value our Western civilisation, to lower the expectations of that politically extremly ambitious man as low as possible, and eliminate them alltogether, once the elections are over.

  7. Iran acts as rationally as Israel. Do not forget the myth of "returning to the national homeland". And the millenial myths of the ultra orthodox who even preach that it is ok to kill Arabs. For instance Shas rabbis. Even the Iranians know that a nuclear weapons is a nuclear weapon and Israel has over 200 of them withouit officially declaring them.
