Eretz Israel is our unforgettable historic homeland...The Jews who will it shall achieve their State...And whatever we attempt there for our own benefit will redound mightily and beneficially to the good of all mankind. (Theodor Herzl, DerJudenstaat, 1896)

We offer peace and amity to all the neighbouring states and their peoples, and invite them to cooperate with the independent Jewish nation for the common good of all. The State of Israel is ready to contribute its full share to the peaceful progress and development of the Middle East.
(From Proclamation of the State of Israel, 5 Iyar 5708; 14 May 1948)

With a liberal democratic political system operating under the rule of law, a flourishing market economy producing technological innovation to the benefit of the wider world, and a population as educated and cultured as anywhere in Europe or North America, Israel is a normal Western country with a right to be treated as such in the community of nations.... For the global jihad, Israel may be the first objective. But it will not be the last. (Friends of Israel Initiative)

"Some Would Argue That They're Remarkably Peaceful ...": Terry Waite Propagandises For Palestine (video)

Terry Waite, who when the then Archbishop of Canterbury's  hostage release negotiator in Lebanon was seized and held captive himself from 1987-91, the first four years in solitary confinement, speaks in a newly released video to mark this year's so-called International Day Of Solidarity With The Palestinian People.

Inter alia, he observes that the Palestinians are widely seen as "terrorists," while "The image that is painted of the other group is of a people under attack ... the victims ... perhaps that image might be reversed".

A polite way of describing Mr Waite's message is that it's nice but naive; an impolite way of describing it is that he's a dupe, a "useful idiot". And when all is said and done, who among us wouldn't like to see the harmony between two peoples for which he yearns?

I fear that Mr Waite has been swallowing messages like this one hook, line, and sinker.

  1. Don't you love the way he says "it is just and is it fair?"

No, Terry Waite - it isn't just or fair that defenceless people going about their daily tasks, have to be worried about being blown to kingdom come.

Try looking a it from someone else's point of view.

How selfish can one man be?

  2. Thanks for the comments so far. His remarks regarding the refugees struck me as particularly one-sided.

  3. long before Waite swallowed any secular Palestinian revisionist history & propaganda messages, he was indoctrinated into Replacement Theology. The biggest threat to Israel (incl diaspora), is not the Muslim 25% of the world, but the majority rest of the globe, spearheaded by the interfaith & broader globalist, in gen, movement.

  4. Poor Terry is the classic example of the Stockholm Syndrome. He did not acquit himself well during his period of captivity by Hizbollah, according to his fellow captives.

His exegesis, if it could be called that, is so riddled with error as to defy calling on it.

For a start, of course it's not an apartheid wall. It's Israel's defence against suicide attackers, and very effective it has proved to be.

As for the refugee camps, well, it's true they still exist. But that's the fault of the UN and the Palestinians. The UN runs the camps; the Palestinians don't build decent towns to accommodate them in the territories THEY occupy (i.e. Gaza and about 97 per cent of the West Bank) - and that with all the billions of dollars donated by the US and the EU under Oslo.

Waite's kind of wilful stupidity and blindness makes me kind of lose my usual cool just a bit.
