A bunch of far leftists and other usual suspects are busy with a related Facebook page (I won't increase its traffic by linking to it), that contains such Israel-demonising posts as
Er - shouldn't that read "Islamofascist sympathies"?"The Israeli occupation army tried to arrest a toddler recently. It could get worse- they could arrest a baby one day. Soldiers have let pregnant mothers and their unborn babies die horrible deaths at their checkpoints, so why arrest babies?... It all makes sense if one has fascist sympathies."
"The jews are claiming Israel as their land for something that happened over 2000 years ago, and are still mind-f-ing the world with the Holocaust which happened more than 64 years ago, so please... spare us. And since when a Jew ever did anything FOR an Arab"
Ah, none so blind as those who won't see, as the old adage goes.
Alas, I suspect that no amount of hasbarah answering the latter question is likely to enlighten those who prefer to be wilfully blind as far as Jews and Israel are concerned.
Let's have the Facebook page please. Facebook doesn't count hits and it gives us a chance to answer back.

The definition of a refugee is a person evicted from their homeland, but not their successors
It appears that the UN has two classes of refugees. The classification of the normal one and that of a Palestinian Arab.
Let me explain in simple words to those who seem unable to grasp the fact.
If you are, for supposition French, and are expelled from you country of birth, you are a refugee.
Your children, for supposition are born in Germany, then they are German and not refugees.
The people now living in Gaza and the West Bank of Jordan, were never refugees anyhow.
They were never evicted from anywhere.
In 1948 the Israel leadership urged the Arab population to stay and build a new home together. They fled at the insistence of their own leaders.
Look it up, it's a well documented fact, even in the Arab media.
They were told to flee and they could return when the "Zionist entity had been annihilated"
Up until the 1920s to 1930s, there were very few Arabs in what is now Israel. When the Jews started successful farms, on what was a dry barren desert, the Arabs arrived looking for work. Mainly from Egypt, hence so many people with the surname Al-Masri.
FYI the largest house in Israel is owned by an Al-Masri

Read Mark Twain's "Innocents abroad" which you can get as a free download. That will give you an accurate picture of the area .
To the person who suggested there is apartheid in Israel. I suggest you do some research on what apartheid is.
The word basically means "separation"
If that's the case, there must be something very wrong with my camera.
I have photos from all over Israel with Jews and Arabs alike enjoying the same freedoms.
Girls in hijabs at universities, doing their shopping, crossing the road with Jews, on the beach with Jews
I sat and chatted with a couple of Arab women with their children in McDonalds
Really you people are so ignorant of the truth, it is astounding.
I was led to the page via the profile of an Aussie Marxist Israel-hater.

I heard a British comedian recently claim that St George was a "Palestinian". His father was a Roman, his mother had the Ye Olde palestinian name of Polychronia.

ReplyDeleteHollywood Group Takes on Music Industry Anti-Israel Boycotters
“We’ll see. But in the meantime, CCFP is determined to fight back. As Steve Schnur, worldwide head of music for Electronic Arts (EA) video games, put it: “Musicians that play there don’t have to agree with the current or previous policies of the Israeli government — but they can go there and speak toward it or against it. Where else in the Middle East can an artist do that?”

I am sick of hearing Israel is "apartheid". For the most part all of us just want to get along with our lives. This Pesach friends decided to have a Seder by the Dead Sea. When we arrived there were many people and it was only later that we realized we were the only Jews at the site. As the sun set, we shared our candles with the Arabs next to us (who for some reason were sitting in the dark), and proceeded with our Seder, complete with singing. It was different, but nice. In the end we decided to pack up and leave--but only because very large groups of rowdy youths started arriving and they did scare us (and many others there). Israel is no different from any place else. We live, work and play together, and yes, there are certainly idiots here--show me a country without them...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Orfan. That's a touching post.

ReplyDeleteRed Hot Chili Peppers I think commenting on the group's official page, fan pages or tweeting will be more effective than taking on the knuckle-draggers head one.
