Eretz Israel is our unforgettable historic homeland...The Jews who will it shall achieve their State...And whatever we attempt there for our own benefit will redound mightily and beneficially to the good of all mankind. (Theodor Herzl, DerJudenstaat, 1896)

We offer peace and amity to all the neighbouring states and their peoples, and invite them to cooperate with the independent Jewish nation for the common good of all. The State of Israel is ready to contribute its full share to the peaceful progress and development of the Middle East.
(From Proclamation of the State of Israel, 5 Iyar 5708; 14 May 1948)

With a liberal democratic political system operating under the rule of law, a flourishing market economy producing technological innovation to the benefit of the wider world, and a population as educated and cultured as anywhere in Europe or North America, Israel is a normal Western country with a right to be treated as such in the community of nations.... For the global jihad, Israel may be the first objective. But it will not be the last. (Friends of Israel Initiative)

Red Hot Chili Peppers In Hot Water With BDSers

The latest band targetted by the BDS fanatics are the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who are due to perform in Tel Aviv on 10 September, having held gigs in Beirut and Istanbul.

A bunch of far leftists and other usual suspects are busy with a related Facebook page (I won't increase its traffic by linking to it), that contains such Israel-demonising posts as
"The Israeli occupation army tried to arrest a toddler recently. It could get worse- they could arrest a baby one day. Soldiers have let pregnant mothers and their unborn babies die horrible deaths at their checkpoints, so why arrest babies?... It all makes sense if one has fascist sympathies."
Er - shouldn't that read "Islamofascist sympathies"?

For a representative glimpse of leftist ignorance and antisemitism in action, we need go no further than one of the comments  here from someone with a gallic-sounding name who's angry about the Red Hot Chili Peppers' visit:
"The jews are claiming Israel as their land for something that happened over 2000 years ago, and are still mind-f-ing the world with the Holocaust which happened more than 64 years ago, so please... spare us. And since when a Jew ever did anything FOR an Arab"

Ah, none so blind as those who won't see, as the old adage goes.

Alas, I suspect that no amount of hasbarah answering the latter question is likely to enlighten those who prefer to be wilfully blind as far as Jews and Israel are concerned.
