Eretz Israel is our unforgettable historic homeland...The Jews who will it shall achieve their State...And whatever we attempt there for our own benefit will redound mightily and beneficially to the good of all mankind. (Theodor Herzl, DerJudenstaat, 1896)

We offer peace and amity to all the neighbouring states and their peoples, and invite them to cooperate with the independent Jewish nation for the common good of all. The State of Israel is ready to contribute its full share to the peaceful progress and development of the Middle East.
(From Proclamation of the State of Israel, 5 Iyar 5708; 14 May 1948)

With a liberal democratic political system operating under the rule of law, a flourishing market economy producing technological innovation to the benefit of the wider world, and a population as educated and cultured as anywhere in Europe or North America, Israel is a normal Western country with a right to be treated as such in the community of nations.... For the global jihad, Israel may be the first objective. But it will not be the last. (Friends of Israel Initiative)

In Delhi, Let's Play Dress Up!

What strange dudes lefties are.  I mean, really!  Justin Trudeau and his family don their versions of Indian garb and manage to offend their hosts in the process.

Isn't this sort of thing what lefties normally call "cultural appropriation" anyway?  Hoist by their own petard!

Here, while visiting a Delhi mosque, the Canadian prime minister wears western dress while the female chattels daughter and the missus are fully wrapped up in misogynistic Islamic fashion.

Such over-the-top hypocrisy!  Such a betrayal of women and girls.  More fool the wife for going along with it.

A not irrelevant new article from Giulio Meotti, here:

Dan, Da'awa & Dhimmitude (video)

Ever get the feeling that western "multiculturalism" is turning rapidly into a one-way street?

That the agenda is increasingly moved by and in the interests of one faith supremacist socio-political ideology and one faith supremacist socio-political ideology alone?

That, if you have two X chromosomes rather than XY, you are becoming more and more disenfranchised by those who should be defending your interests?

A sacrificial woman, in fact?

An Australian progressive synagogue with a female assistant rabbi invites the recitation of Islamic prayers in its sacred space, stupidly unaware that  the recitations are insulting and that the (male, naturellement) reciters are da'awa activists playing their hosts for fools.

The Chief Rabbi of the United Hebrew Congregations of Great Britain and the Commonwealth, the nice but naive Ephraim Mirvis, calls on Jewish schools to teach another faith: the faith supremacist socio-political ideology he has prescribed is Islam.

The Austrian president, Green leftist Alexander Bellen, disgracefully proclaims that in the fight against "islamophobia" the day might come when "we will have to ask all women to wear the hijab"!

In the Australian state of Victoria, the ALP (Labor) government of Daniel Andrews pours taxpayers' money into countering Islamophobia (warning: video may cause high blood pressure in the politically incorrect rationally worried):

btw, I stumbled across this oldie but goody and thought I'd post it for the edification of anyone else who failed to see it at the time.

"The veil is just another firm of mask": good on (former) BBC newsreader Peter Sissons for exposing, if not her bare face, than at least the barefaced duplicity of this woman back in 2008.

With her face uncovered she went for a job at a Church of England school in the UK and having been interviewed, by a man as well as a woman, she was employed.

However, when she started work, she astounded her new employers (and probably scared the kids!) by turning up in this Darth Vader-like garment. She then refused to remove it, arguing that no man there must see her face!

A delicious interview, in which the woman, playing the infidel-versus-Muslim victim card, is egregiously evasive, even asking at one point whether she must answer the question.

Ah! But then Mr Sissons is of the honourable scrupulously objective old school of BBC staff, and has, regrettably, long since retired.

Useful Idiots Fighting for Whom?

A prominent Aussie Israel-basher's credo
"Clamouring critics of multiculturalism are motivated by ignorance, bigotry, racism, xenophobia, fear and hatred of Muslim Australians.

They fear their beloved mythical Anglo-Saxon monocultural masterclass is threatened. The Nazis had similar values....

According to the racist opponents of multiculturalism, the Muslim agenda is that Australia must be a Muslim nation.

If you believe this, I can also sell you the Sydney Harbour Bridge....

Ironically, we may be better off as a Muslim nation. Christianity has never been less popular and Islam is the fastest growing religion in the world. It’s a religion of peace, love, family values and respect, and the only faith to give women equality in its holy book."

So declared inveterate Israel-bashing ABC (Australia's answer to the BBC) journalist Peter Goers a few years ago.

What a comedian, eh?

Strange sort of mindset.

But one we are seeing all too frequently among the "anti-Zionist" crowd.

See what I mean?  (The Israel-basher quoted in the previous image happily poses with a book.)

More comedians, this time in France last month (note the keffiyehs):

Here's a look at how Europe's "cultural enrichers" respect women in France, with the "public space" closed to them in a shopping precinct in a district of Lyons, and how both Muslim-born and non-Muslim women are fighting back:

Here's a look at Merkeland, where youths from Muslim hellholes are demonstrating how much they respect women in authority (by abusing and threatening them):

Here's another look at "cultural enrichment" in the same country:

As British historian Niall Ferguson (husband of the articulate and courageous Ayaan Hirsi Ali) observed recently:
'On the migration issue the European leadership got it disastrously wrong. On the question of radical Islam the European leadership has fundamentally got it wrong. One has to recognise that the European elite's performance over the last decade entirely justified the revolt of provincial England that was what we saw in Brexit.
If those of us who were part of the elite spent more time in pubs in provincial England and provincial Wales we would have heard what I just said.
This is not about GDP, it is principally about the complete loss of control of the EU's external border and what that implies for our country's future.
I have had a kind of awakening. Brexit woke me up and reminded me I needed to pay much more attention to what the non-elite majority of voters were thinking.'
Under its wet wet wet liberal CEO Jonathan Greenblatt, the ADL seems bent on turning that organisation into a one-stop shop for the promotion of every leftist bandwagon that rolls by, and demonising as bigots anyone outspokenly critical of Islam.
As Jonathan Bronitsky has written, at the end of a brilliant essay here :

'First, I hope this essay persuades the ADL, which is heavily invested in antibullying (e.g., “No Place For Hate” campaign), to consider that it itself has become a bully to conservatives who remain in its ranks. Shutting out right-leaning individuals through crowd intimidation and derision weakens coalitions, which are vital in advocacy work. This behavior also diminishes the organization’s values, which will turn stale and trite when left unchallenged.
Secondly, I want the ADL to revisit and clarify its mission. “The nation’s premier civil rights/human relations agency,” asserts that it “fights anti-Semitism and all forms of bigotry”; not just “all forms of bigotry,” but “anti-Semitism” and then “all forms of bigotry.” Yet as murderous anti-Semitism around the globe has surged in recent years, the ADL has dedicated itself more and more to matters of social justice in America (e.g., immigration, women’s reproductive health, economic “privilege”) that are already being pursued by a plethora of lobbying outlets and activist foundations. This wouldn’t be problematic—or rather, duplicitous—per se. But the ADL loudly and incessantly bemoans the fact that Jews are living in an increasingly dangerous world. “Thirty or forty years ago,” I heard over and over again at the National Leadership Summit, “I couldn’t have imagined that Jews would be getting shot dead in the streets of Europe.”
Well, resources are limited. Is combatting anti-Semitism a “priority” for the ADL? If so, then the organization should put its money where its mouth is. Alas, this outcome seems ever more unlikely as it seeks to enforce group conformity and advance political agendas that have nothing to do with defending the Jewish people.'
And as Jonathan S. Tobin wrote a few days ago:
'In the month since the presidential election, many in the American Jews have been in mourning over Donald Trump’s victory. For all too many Jews and the organizations that purport to represent Jewish interests, partisan disappointment has led to a great deal of loose and highly irresponsible comparisons of our present situation to Weimar Germany and the rise of Hitler. It is in that context that a new report from the Community Security Service (CSS) about terrorist incidents and attacks on Jews and Israelis in the United States since 1967 is critical reading for those who wish to re-focus the Jewish community on real rather than imagined threats to its security.
The report, which was written by Yehudit Barsky, one of the top experts on radical hate groups in the country, provides a comprehensive analysis of the recent history of anti-Semitism in the United States. She paints a frightening picture of the rising toll of violence against Jews from two distinct sources: white supremacists and radical Islamists....
This serves as a reminder that for all of the talk about Islamophobia, both before and after the election, Jews and Jewish institutions remain the main targets of religious-based hate crimes in this country. This is a fact borne out by the FBI’s annual reports on hate crimes. The latest available report is from 2014 and that one, like every other issued since the outset of such compilations confirms this fact. In that year, 58.1 percent of all religious hate crimes in this country were directed at Jews. Only 16.3  percent were anti-Islamic....
Monitoring hotbeds of hate is key to stopping attacks, but, in the effort to avoid accusations of Islamophobia, efforts by law enforcement to keep tabs on radical mosques and other Islamist centers have been abandoned and wrongly branded as acts of prejudice. Without good intelligence, it’s only a matter of time before another major attack might be successful....'
And as Melanie Phillips has so well expressed matters ('Mrs May's False Note'):
'Islamophobia does NOT come from the same wellspring of hatred as antisemitism.
Antisemitism is a true prejudice because the hatred and demonisation it promotes derive entirely from lies and a repudiation of rationality itself.
Islamophobia is a false allegation of prejudice which is deployed to silence rational criticism based on actual facts about attitudes and practices within the Islamic world.
The result of Mrs May’s lethally compromised even-handedness is to misunderstand, and thus minimise, antisemitic attitudes and behaviour while shutting down legitimate and necessary discussion of the threat from the Islamic world – even to demonise as “Islamophobic” anyone who draws attention to the extent and consequences of Muslim antisemitism.
The result was the ludicrous exclusion from Britain of the anti-jihadists Geller and Spencer in 2013. Whatever one may think of their style or choice of allies, to suggest that people who fight against antisemitism and the jihadi threat to the world pose a threat similar to that presented by the terrorist godfathers Abu Hamza and Abu Qatada is just grotesque.
... Yet last July the government allowed into the country two extremist preachers from Pakistan, Muhammad Naqib ur Rehman and Hassan Haseeb ur Rehman, for a seven-week preaching tour of mosques. Both are supporters of Mumtaz Qadri who in 2011 murdered Salman Taseer, a Pakistani politician who spoke out against that country’s blasphemy laws....
To equate antisemitism with Islamophobia not only reveals a moral and intellectual muddle and a failure to understand what bigotry actually is. It also inescapably suggests a most alarming inability to grasp the full nature and extent of the Islamist threat to Britain and the free world.'
Meanwhile, Hizb ut-Tahrir, the extremist group banned in much of the Middle East but tolerated in Britain and Australia, has been making its view known, yet again, on the streets of London.

Meanwhile, at an Austrian kindergarten's Christmas play ...

To say nothing of that German Christmas market in today's headlines.

Joined At The Navel: The ABC BBC of it

Yesterday, in the wake of yet another Islamic atrocity (the Nice tragedy), conservative Australian columnist Andrew Bolt wrote an article in the Herald-Sun which caught the fancy of an Australian television personality named Sonia Kruger (see my previous post).

Note how the BBC has chosen to report this Aussie incident, giving emphasis to Ms Kruger's critics and deriders of her "as a mother" remark in explaining how Islamic terror worries her.   Some examples from the report:

(Who's Pickering? Oh, some comedian or other.)

Hanson-Young is a Greens senator of whom the ABC is inordinately fond, as indicated by the vast amounts of airtime its new bulletins give her to deride the nation's "turn back the boats" policy and other issues connected with asylum:

Among the critics of Ms Kruger highlighted by the BBC,  a discordant voice:

I should have thought that being a mother, and therefore having a stake in the future of this country and what kind of place it will be for her child[ren] makes a mother a very qualified person indeed.

But the opportunity to mock (and demonise) was, after all, the only reason the Corporation, awash with Islamophile leftists, reported the story in the first place, wasn't it?

I'm correct, aren't I, Jon Donnison (here spoon-feeding the not-to-be-trusted viewing public with a propaganda-laden tweet of his own)?:

In the same vein, the Facebook page of QandA, the ABC's equivalent to the BBC's Question Time  (yesterday's show here), is full of leftist partisanship, and its studio audience similarly stacked.

As always, the terrible twosome are in a three-way relationship, the Guardian being their partner in bias.  But at least the Guardian can claim entitlement to vent its propaganda: the ABC and the BBC cannot, since they are public broadcasters financed by the taxpayer.  And obligated by their charters to be objective.

"Curse You, Curse You, Curse You, Mr Blair!"

Just what makes Anthony Charles Lynton Blair tick is very hard to fathom.  Admired by some, and loathed by others, this "all-over-the-place" politician may well be judged by history (as he is judged by many already) the worst prime minister of the British twentieth century.

The usual suspects of the Left view Blair as a war criminal for the "lies" that took Britain into the war that toppled Saddam Hussein, and feel exonerated by the Chilcot Report, but to numerous men and women Blair's crimes are those he committed against his own country during his prime ministership (1997-2007).

In the current issue of the Australian conservative intellectual and literary magazine Quadrant Welshman Christie Davies (author of The Strange Death of Moral Britain) articulates this viewpoint with clarity and passion.

Pointing out the societal, economic, and ecological problems associated with Britain's record high levels of immigration over the last  two decades, with England now the most densely populated country in Europe (419 people per square km) and projected to become even more congested by 2030 (460 people per square km), Davies notes that the warnings of demographers during the 1960s regarding future overcrowding if the birthrate did not fall are never alluded to today.

(Anyone seen the slogan "Zero Population Growth" lately?  No. Didn't think so.  Since the immigrant population is driving up the birthrate these days it's much too politically incorrect to suggest that the maximum number of babies per family should be two.  Ever seen the Greens arguing that immigration numbers should be restricted, given the fact that swathes of unspoiled countryside and greenbelt land are now being cemented over to meet the need for housing consequent upon today's massive population surge?  Ah, that'll be the day!)

A scene in Birmingham.  Photo: Lee Thomas (see more photos here)

Writes Christie Davies, inter alia:
'I do not blame immigrants for wanting to come to a country that is far better in all respects than the wretched ones into which they were born.  In their position I would try to do the same.  The real villain is Tony Blair ...
[In 2004] most of the existing EU countries imposed severe restrictins on migration from the East [of Europe], but Britain under Blair did not and two million immigrants arrived...
Blair also instructed his officials to loosen considerably the rules regarding the checking of those from outside Europe claiming asylum.  Many of the claimants were fakes and they were deliberately allowed to slip through the net so as to avoid the publicity attending an expulsion.
Worst of all, Blair abolished the "primary purpose" rule.  Any British citizen who has married a foreigner is entitled to bring their spouse into the country.... Where the problem arises is when a marriage is arranged or even forced, often in pursuit of some sordid material pay-off, and no such ties exist.  Many of these marriages were simply a trick to evade the immigration rules... and it was perfectly proper to block their entry into the country by means of the primary purpose rule.
Under pressure from British Muslim activists, for many of whom marriage was a way of obtaining a British passport, Tony Blair abolished  the rule, saying it was discriminatory.
Some Muslims had another reason for seeking an absence of restrictions on imported spouses.  They wanted to use marriage as a means of compelling those of their children who were showing signs of personal independence and assimilation, to marry unreconstructed, uneducated husbands and wives from their original country.  These parents wanted spouses who would bring their wayward offspring back into line and away from the dangers of British freedom.
In approving all these changes Blair should have known that they would destroy Britain.  ... [T]hat might have been his purpose.  He was, after all, the man who began the dismemberment of the United Kingdom, who subordinated our interests to the EU, denied tradition and fostered multiculturalism.
Curse you, curse you, curse you, Mr Blair!
A mural in Birmingham
Leftists welcome immigrants, whom they perceive as lacking the ties that hold the British people together in a sense of a common history and culture.  The leftists wish to destroy these forms of solidarity, so that they can replace them with their own ideological framework of imposed equality.  That is what the weasel Blair meant by modernity ... Some have also cynically calculated that the new arrivals are more likely to be hungry for benefits and more likely to vote Labour....
Immigration is stealing our land but Islam threatens to steal our soul....
Australia's tough line on immigration including the turning back of boats and building detention centres outside the country is exactly what Britain needs...'
Meanwhile, to judge from her recent naive comments regarding sharia, it appears Britain's new prime minister Theresa May would benefit from a reading of Australian scholar of Islam Mark Durie's latest article here

No Imperialism or Islamophobia Please: We're Leftists

BDSer Associate Professor Jake Lynch has been talking to the Aussie Green Left Weekly about his reportedly troubled Centre for Peace and Conflict Studies at Sydney University.

https://www.greenleft.org.au/node/61387

And look who was spotted in the audience for this talk at Sydney Uni by John Pilger yesterday:

Meanwhile (in contrast to the good sense expressed by conservative columnist Andrew Bolt here and here), in an article entitled "Blame Hate, Not Islam: Europe's Left responds to terror attacks," the Aussie Green Left has been quick to defend the Religion of Peace following the Islamic terror attacks in Brussels, and to take a little swipe at the Zionist Entity in the process.

Inter alia, it tells readers:
'Grassroots groups across Europe are warning against succumbing to misguided and bigoted speech in the wake of the latest terrorist atrocity in Belgium.
Reacting to the terror attacks in Brussels on March 22, an Israeli state official echoed the typical narrative conflating Islam and terrorism, and the idea of a clash of a civilisation.
"This is a Third World War against our common values," Defense Minister Moshe Ya'alon said, according to the Jerusalem Post. "Terrorism must unite Western countries to unite for a determined, creative, and uncompromising fight against its origins, funders, and operators." Western culture is under attack from extremist Islamic terrorism, which is relentless and indiscriminate, Ya'alon added.
In Europe, calls for increasing security and tightening borders pushed anti-racist groups to issue both condolences and warnings against Islamophia amid the sorrow...
Brushing away heated polemic, some groups instead opted for a sober anti-imperialist analysis...
Islamophobic comments flooded social media following the attacks, with #StopIslam trending on Twitter in major European countries including Belgium, France, Turkey, Germany, Britain and the Netherlands..."
More on the same theme from CAIR (the Council on American-Islamic Relations), in an article entitled "While Brussels aches, Muslims brace for another round of Islamophobia":

De Nile is in Seine (video)

This long video is a must-see/hear, after reading my previous post.

It illustrates in microcosm "an enormous political agenda at work" among lefty political elites and, in interviews with liberal and Muslim Parisians regarding the recent atrocities, includes this misguided guy:

This was January:

And now?

Brilliant.

Paris: Edgar Charts A Mindset

It's reported here that Professor Farid Esack of the University of Johannesburg’s Centre for the Study of Democracy, declared in a Facebook post:
“I am not praying for Paris; I am not condemning anyone. Why the hell should I? I had nothing to do with it. I am sickened by the perpetual expectations to condemn. I walk away from your shitty racist and Islamophobic expectations that whenever your chickens come home to roost then I must feign horror. Stop supporting and funding terror outfits, get out of other people’s lands and continents, stop outlawing peaceful resistance such as Boycott, Divestment and Sanctions (BDS) Movement, to occupations, abandon your cultural imperialism, destroy your arms industry that provides the weapons that kill hundreds of thousands of others every year. The logic is quite simple: When you eat, it’s stupid to expect that no shit will ever come out from your body. Yes, I feel sorry for the victims on whom the shit falls. But, bloody hell, own it; it’s yours!”
What he said is not extraordinary, of course.

Listen, for instance, to a British Muslim spokesman on the BBC's "Moral Maze" program here

Note how quickly Israel is mentioned.

Blogger Edgar Davidson has provided a helpful guide to the mindset, introducing it thus:
"In the light of the Paris attacks many people have been bemused at multiple contradictions in what many Muslims (and leftists) have been saying. For example, on one hand many believe Mossad carried out the attacks, but on the other hand they also believe the attacks are the inevitable result of Muslims being 'persecuted' by Israel and other Western countries.  So, here is a reminder of a simple chart which clearly shows how rational many Muslims (and leftists) really are about politics."
 See his chart here

This article, entitled "America: Your Solidarity with Paris is Embarrassingly Misguided," has been warmly recommended on Facebook by some of the usual suspects, and contains the line "I mourn for Palestinians, whose land was usurped — and whose lives and infrastructure and families and sense of security and HOMES are under siege and occupation by an illegal and actively terrorist State."

Gee, the Left are the race obsessives!  And reverse racists to boot.

What a load of ordure somebody called Lulu Nunn deposited in The Independent the other day, forgetting that Paris is not an exclusively (whisper it) a white city.

More ordure here

If these people are so concerned with showing sympathy for non-Europeans they could begin by showing sympathy with Israel, where a very large proportion of the population is of Mizrahi heritage.  After all, look at all the terrorism that the Israelis have had to endure since 1948: statistics  here.  (Hat tip: Ian G)

In London, The Man Who Would Be Mayor Joins The Anti-Israel Throng (videos); includes updates

The despicable one-sided reportage about current events in Israel (I'm looking at you, among others, Orla Guerin) is continuing to work its evil, despite such capable refutations as this, from Mark Regev:

But of course, nothing Regev or other truth-tellers can say can alter the minds of those who have long since wanted to bring the little Jewish State to its knees.  Hence many demos round the world this weekend; the images below depict Sydney (the cleric in the keffiyeh is Australia's answer to Stephen Sizer), Edinburgh, Dundee, Paris (two pictures) respectively, and London (ditto).

Here's footage of the nauseating  raucous anti-Israel demo yesterday in Britain's capital, with mayoral candidate Gorgeous George (that's him above) in characteristic loquacious mood (update: see my next post for another video):

Demonising UK propaganda surrounding the rally here

More nasties here

In Charlie Hebdo Land:

Below, typical behaviour of totalitarian leftist rabble and rabble rousers (at least one Australian city has witnessed comparable conduct on recent Friday afternoons at rush hour, causing traffic chaos and disruption): demonstrators at London's busy St Pancras station in favour of admitting vast numbers of Islamic invaders "refugees" to Britain and deliberately preventing the travelling public from going about their lawful business unhindered.

In Sydney, Anti-Israel Academic Riemer Rants About Islamophobia

Here's how a little pack of British anti-Israel diehards spent Easter Saturday, outside Arsenal's Highbury ground prior to the match with Liverpool, demanding that Israel be expelled from FIFA (Fédération Internationale de Football Association):

On 4 April in Australia, though, fanatics were out in force.   Rallies in Australian capital cities against the perceived islamification of Australia (below, the view from Adelaide's John Bolton) were countered by "anti-racist" campaigners, most of whom appear to be far-leftists.

Has the young Sydney woman in the photo not heard how the Taliban treats women and girls, or does she just not give a damn?  Ah, but then the ever-perverse left, even the "feminists" of the species, have a strange habit of tolerating in the West's enemies what they would not for one second tolerate in men of their own backgrounds, and of shutting their eyes and ears to accounts of Islamic misogyny by women who have been victims of it.

That many if not most of these Aussie counter-demonstrators are anti-Israel can surely be taken for granted.

After all, the Socialist Alliance and its ilk is known for its demonisation of Israel and its support for anti-Israel initiatives.

The woman convening this counter-demonstration in Sydney against the "racist" rally simultaneously taking place in Martin Place enthusiastically mentioned his pro-BDS stance in her warm welcome to Dr Nick Riemer, one of Associate Professor Jake Lynch's chief academic supporters at Sydney University, who can be seen on this video from around 4.34 raging against "Islamophobia" and "xenophobia" and of course the Abbott government:

At the end of the rally the woman in charge (who like pro-Palestine feminist Melbourne councillor Sue Bolton in this footage of the corresponding Melbourne counter-demo neatly avoids the issue of Islamic misogyny by some typical leftist verbal gymnastics) warns participants to be vigilant for louts, especially drunken louts, from the other side.

Truth to tell, some of the types on both sides look as though they should be avoided in narrow alleys, and not only during the hours of darkness.

At the Adelaide "racist" rally,  one of the"islamophobes" (not Jewish) carries an Israeli flag.

Rolling Out The Red Carpet For Ridley: "I suspect the ABC Left sees Islamist grievances as a vehicle for its own ideological hatreds – of the West ... of Israel ..."

I was struck over the weekend by these two pertinent  and sensible observations, both on Facebook, by two Jewish academics on opposite sides of the world, both of whom are openly pro-Israel, both favouring a two-state solution, and both on the moderate Left (meaning that they can't readily be dismissed as right-wing bigots by the usual suspects).

First, a London University academic, reflecting on this Socialist Worker poster placed around campus during freshman week:

"This, in the place I have to work.

Who is 'the resistance' whose victory is hoped for? Hamas? Hezbollah? Isis?

Why is it left ambiguous?

How would victory for these groups further freedom for Palestine?

Why is this the eye-catcher for freshers week when, as we speak, 'the resistance' is murdering, raping, cleansing, driving-out, by the hundreds of thousands?

How is this considered OK in a democratic scholarly space?"

 Second,  a Monash University academic:

"Interesting to read in The Age today [Friday]that a national Islamic conference in Melbourne has invited British journalist Yvonne Ridley to speak.
Ridley is a member of the so-called left-wing Respect Party in Britain headed by George Galloway who wants to ban all Israeli Jews from Bradford. She has publicly said:“Respect is a Zionist-free party. If there was any Zionism in the Respect Party they would be hunted down and kicked out”, February 2006 address at Imperial College in London.
Ridley wishes to create a racially pure political party free of Jewish contamination.
I wonder if the organizers are aware of her racist views."
A couple of years ago, when Ms Ridley was running for Parliament as a member of Galloway's Respect Party, a concerned moderately left observer, Shamik Das, itemised various shocking Ridleyisms that included the sentiments quote above and then some [emphasis added]:
'Ridley said:
“[Respect] is a Zionist-free party… if there was any Zionism in the Respect Party they would be hunted down and kicked out. We have no time for Zionists.” She explained that government support “goes towards that disgusting little watchdog of America that is festering in the Middle East”.
She went on to attack the Tories and Lib Dems, saying that all the mainstream parties are “riddled with Zionists”. I found it hard to comprehend how the notion that “[Respect] encompasses a broad church of ideas and opinions” could be compatible with the hunting down of supporters of an Israeli state.
Also in that Imperial lecture, she says:
“Israel is a vile little state. It’s propped up by America. It cannot survive without American money.”
Blogpost, 2011:
“.... I loathe the Zionist State and what it stands for.”
 Rally outside US Embassy, 2006:
“Drinking Coca Cola is like drinking the blood of Palestinian children."
Addressing a Viva Palestina meeting, 2009:
“The Zionists have tentacles everywhere. We’ve seen with the disgraceful behaviour from the BBC that this interference goes right to the very top of the media, into the very heart of our homes.”
 At the same meeting:
“We have to end the Zionist state. We’ve got to charge the war criminals. We have to boycott Israeli goods.”
Hamas:
Galloway names Ridley as a Hamas donor, 2009:
“I, now, here, on behalf of myself, my sister Yvonne Ridley, and the two Respect councillors – Muhammad Ishtiaq and Naim Khan – are giving three cars and 25,000 pounds in cash to prime minister Ismail Haniya.”
Ridley herself confirming she personally donated money to Hamas in a deliberate violation of sanctions law:
“I brought cash and I am happy to say I have given that cash to George Galloway and we have both given that money to the Palestinian prime minister, Ismail Haniyeh, which has broken UN sanctions. If they want to charge us, if they want to arrest us, bring it on.”
She added:
“During our brief time in Gaza, I did have the privilege to join a few of us together to meet Ismail Haniyeh… If I could use my Palestinian citizenship, it would be to vote Ismail Haniyeh and Hamas back in again in Gaza. Victory to intifada 3! Victory to Hamas!“....'
See more, with chapter and verse, here

Having read the Monash University academic's remark quoted above, I looked at the article that he cited , and learned, inter alia:
'An organiser of a national Islamic conference being held in Melbourne says the portrayal of Islamic State barbarism is being used to stir political fear.
Mustafa Abu Yusuf, a spokesman for the Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama'ah Association of Australia (ASWJ), claimed the actions of Islamic State [also known as ISIL] were being "rammed down our throats" in a bid to paint fundamentalist Muslims as potential terrorists and curb civil freedoms.
But he also praised police who worked with the Muslim community on the ground.
Mr Abu Yusuf said he had not seen videos of the ISIL beheadings posted on social media although he called the act abhorrent  but said the group's actions was "no more horrific" than those of Western armies during war.
He questioned why the Abbott government did not react with equally fierce rhetoric when chemical warfare was used and human rights abuses were committed in the Syrian civil war....
Ahead of the launch of the three-day "Crossroads" conference, expected to draw thousands of people to the Melbourne Convention Centre, Mr Abu Yusuf rejected allegations that the ASWJ promoted violence and extremism.
The Crossroads conference has drawn attention for its list of controversial keynote speakers, including Yvonne Ridley, a British journalist who converted to Islam after she was kidnapped by the Taliban. Ms Ridley is known for her outspoken views and is alleged to have referred to suicide bombings as "martyrdom operations". [Emphasis added]
"The conference is being portrayed as a conversion of terror and terror ideals," Mr Abu Yusuf said. "But Islam prohibits extremism in all its forms  religious, financial or whatever the case may be.
"This is about building a focus on unifying rather than dividing Australia."
.... "Everyone, including the white government that rules this country, are all immigrants, and immigration has made this country stronger," he said. "But with all this Team Australia rubbish, Abbott must think most Australians are stupid. He has dumbed down our country to us and them."....'

I then discovered that the ABC (which as I've pointed out several times bears similar hallmarks to the BBC) had hastened to provide its airways to Yvonne Ridley, just as it did seven years ago, when she was the guest of a similar Islamic Conference in Melbourne.  On that occasion she was interviewed by the AM radio program's Jane Cowan:
Tamil Tigers in Australia  rallying against Israel recently

'ELIZABETH JACKSON: A controversial speaker at an Islamic Conference in Melbourne this weekend has lashed out at the media, accusing reporters of whipping up hysteria over Muslims.
Yvonne Ridley is a British journalist; she famously converted to Islam after being captured by the Taliban in Afghanistan.
This week Labor's Immigration spokesman, Tony Burke, called for her to be banned from entering Australia, because of her reportedly extremist views.
But Yvonne Ridley told our reporter, Jane Cowan, she's been misquoted and misrepresented.
YVONNE RIDLEY: These views have been taken out of context and have been dredged up by mischief-makers who have an Islamaphobic agenda.
JANE COWAN: What do you believe on those fronts?
YVONNE RIDLEY: Um, I believe in justice for the Palestinians. I believe in justice for Chechnyans.
JANE COWAN: Can you categorically condemn suicide bombing?
YVONNE RIDLEY: You know, the greatest purveyors of suicide bombing are the Tamil Tigers, a Marxist-Leninist organisation, largely of the Hindu faith; I'm not really quite sure why it is being attached specifically towards Muslims.
JANE COWAN: But if you've been reported as saying you support suicide bombing, would you now here condemn it, no matter who perpetrates it?
YVONNE RIDLEY: I condemn shoddy journalism and poor research, and people like you should know better than to try and tackle people like me over things that have allegedly been said or not said.
JANE COWAN: But this is an opportunity for you to clarify your views, and …
YVONNE RIDLEY: I've clarified them. What don't you understand?  Listen, I have told you exactly what I have said, now you tell me why you need me to condemn something that is as plain as, you know, as the language that I've just said. What didn't you understand about what I have just said?
JANE COWAN: My question is, do you or do you not support suicide bombing?
YVONNE RIDLEY: Of course I don't.  I have, in fact, been quite mystified that a senior Labor member would result to this cheap tactic, especially after last year I spent some time with [former prime minister and erstwhile gung-ho Israel supporter] Bob Hawke and his wife and other eminent people in Copenhagen, drawing up a declaration to combat Islamophobia.'
The AM program this week featured Ms Ridley as follows:
'ELIZABETH JACKSON: Islamic groups and the police are presenting a united front to guard against Muslim vilification, in the wake of the police shooting of Numan Haider.
The 18 year old was shot dead after he stabbed two police officers at the Endeavour Hills Police Station.
The bubbling social tension has been addressed at the launch of a conference in Melbourne last night.
From Melbourne, Rachael Brown reports.
RACHAEL BROWN: As the funeral was being held for 18 year old Numan Haider yesterday, Islamic leaders and police were urging calm.
And opening the annual conference of the Islamic organisation, Ahlus Sunnah Wal Jama'ah, Sheik Muhammad Omran recalled visiting Haider's grieving family with an AFP officer, who said: "He was one of our kids the same as he's one of yours".
MUHAMMAD OMRAN: We care for each other, and if we have that bit of care, believe me Australia will be more wonderful than what it is today.
RACHAEL BROWN: Sheik Omran says current tensions aren't an Islamic problem, but an Australian one.
MUHAMMAD OMRAN: If I say it's not my business, it is your business, it is this, it is that, then the whole society goes scattered and no-one will win.
RACHAEL BROWN: The annual conference aims to help Muslims navigate contemporary challenges, but this year it's been inevitably overshadowed by Haider's death.
YVONNE RIDLEY: It is a crime. I would hesitate to call it terrorism because we don't know the full facts. It might have been nothing more than a knife crime.
RACHAEL BROWN: UK journalist Yvonne Ridley is in Melbourne for a presentation on the media, and engaging youth, which she says has certainly taken on a different significance now.
YVONNE RIDLEY: The wild speculation  and it is wild  has not been helpful at all: A, it's bad journalism and B, it's irresponsible.
RACHAEL BROWN: Since her conversion to Islam after she was kidnapped by the Taliban, she's been labelled a firebrand radical convert.
YVONNE RIDLEY: I'm not a firebrand. I speak my mind. The fact that some male journalist in Australia decides to call me firebrand because I wear a scarf is really irresponsible.
RACHAEL BROWN: On the question of the disconnect between youth and their elders, she says this isn't a Muslim problem, it's a universal one.
YVONNE RIDLEY: We do need to engage youth more. The one thing that I'm critical about in the Muslim community - we need to open up the mosques to political debate. Quite often issues like Iraq, Palestine, Syria are closed to debate.
If young people can't talk about these issues inside the mosque, they will find somewhere else to talk about it.
RACHAEL BROWN: Ms Ridley says there are voices of extremism closer to home, like the Palmer United Party Senator, Jacqui Lambie, whose understanding of Sharia law is that it "obviously involves terrorism".
JACKIE LAMBIE [sic!; The ABC transcript should read YVONNE RIDLEY]: I thought it was very Monty Python-esque, her whole language. And I realised there wasn't a hint or irony in what she was saying.
ELIZABETH JACKSON: That's UK journalist and Muslim convert Yvonne Ridley, ending that report from Rachael Brown.'
Not for nothing does the great Andrew Bolt, in the course of his newspaper column today, observe:
'....On Saturday ... the ABC’s AM promoted the speaking tour of British Muslim convert Yvonne Ridley, describing her merely as a journalist mysteriously “labelled a firebrand radical”.
The ABC left it to Ridley to explain: “Some male journalists in Australia decide to call me firebrand because I wear a scarf.”
Completely false. Ridley is called a firebrand because she has praised suicide bombers as “martyrs”, and called even the Chechen terrorist behind the Beslan school massacre a “shaheed” or martyr.
She’s damned Israel as a “vile little state” that had to be destroyed, and said Israeli children murdered by jihadists weren’t “innocents” but future soldiers.
US President Barack Obama was “an out-of-control psychopathic killer” and Australia one of the “most shocking” countries for its supposed hatred of Muslims.
Why is the ABC promoting Ridley at this dangerous time? Why present her as unfairly maligned instead of rightly criticised?
This is not unusual for the ABC....
It is lethally irresponsible for the ABC to pump out lunatic propaganda that could incite Muslim extremists and demonise the moderates. It is hard to believe the country’s biggest media empire could be so reckless.
Yet the ABC does it repeatedly. Last month 7.30 let Hamas spokesman Osama Hamdan criticise Israel without revealing this seemingly reasonable man had claimed the “Jewish mentality ... has become addicted to the killing of women and children”, and “the Jews used to slaughter Christians in order to mix their blood in their holy matzos”.
Why this validation of extremists? I suspect the ABC Left sees Islamist grievances as a vehicle for its own ideological hatreds — of the West, capitalism, Israel and freedom....' [Emphasis added]

"Speak Out Against Right Wing anti-Muslim Dog Whistling": Aussie Leftist Strangeloves show their hypocrisy (again)

From Australia's most-read columnist, Andrew Bolt, a typically wise and wonderful column today regarding Muslim and Leftist attitudes towards the government's counter-terrorism initiative.  Inter alia, he points out:
'[Hizb ut-Tahrir leader] Wassim Doureihi said something very frightening to Muslims protesting in Lakemba [a Sydney suburb] against last Thursday’s anti-terrorist raids.
Even more frightening is that no one — no politician, commentator or academic — condemned him.
Doureihi ... brushed off police claims that the men they’d arrested had planned to behead Australians on the orders of the Islamic State.
“Let me say clearly, even if a single bomb went off, even if a thousand bombs went off in this country, all it will prove is that Muslims are angry,” Doureihi said, speaking calmly....
Doureihi was already excusing even “a thousand bombs” here in response to what his organisation claims is a “war on Islam”....
Alienation” is the myth even moderate Muslim leaders push. Just last week, Brisbane Muslim leader Ali Kadri told the ABC “the root” of Muslim extremism was “a fear of alienation and feeling of marginalisation because of foreign policy, when it comes to Israel/Palestine conflict”.
I say “myth” because of one telling fact above all: this country actually has as many Buddhists as Muslims. Yet where are the Buddhist terrorist plots? Where are the angry complaints about “alienation”? Where the warnings to change our foreign policies ... or else?
No, there is something different with the Muslim community that we haven’t seen with the Buddhist, Hindu, Sikh or Confucian....
And how frantically the Left feeds what they should fear. How recklessly our media class — the vanguard of Western self-hatred — goes along with this paranoia and monstrous self-pity that justifies so much violence.
Take Labor MPs Sue Lines, Kim Carr and Melissa Parke, who all recklessly accused the Government of scaremongering about terrorism threats just to avoid talking about its Budget or to sell its anti-terrorism plans. Journalists of the Left even hinted last week’s raids were part of this cynical political plot....
You’d laugh if the Left wasn’t, in fact, legitimising the same deadly paranoia of Muslim extremists like Hizb ut-Tahrir....'
Now, as if eager to prove Bolt's point, the Left in Melbourne announces a rally due to take place this coming Friday:

"Muslims have a long history in Australia, dating back to the 1860's when the cameleers brought their trade and stock to the outback.
It was then in 1888 the first mosque was established in Adelaide, followed by another in Perth in 1905.

Since then, the Muslim community has grown to become a vibrant, positive and integrated part of modern Australia.
The Sue who's going
The Liberal Party have a more recent history regarding Muslims, that of using lies (remember children overboard?), quasi-fasicst harassment (the AFP investigating muslim school children in their schools) and their media attack dogs (photographs of "dawn terror raids" rammed down our throats from every front page) to try to paint this countries long standing Muslim community as a threat to this county and our safety.
We reject the notion that Muslims are terrorists and we suggest that the real threat to the majority of Australians (Muslims, workers, the unemployed, women, LGBTI people and so on) is the Abbott government and the ruling elite.
We've had enough of watching our fellow Austrlaian's [sic]being attacked in the press and on the beaches. We've had enough of the fear and hate being spread by this and past governments to justify attacks on the poor, disabled, unemployed and Indigenous.
Come down this Friday at 5.30pm, at City Square on Swanston Street, join the group and speak out against right wing anti-Muslim dog whistling, and speak up for Muslim rights all around this country!"
"Positive and integrated?"

Er,  not quite.

For instance:

"Stop Fearing What You Don't Understand"
Not the feral Lebanese gang-rapists who in acts of racism deliberately targeted Aussie girls of typical northern European appearance in Sydney during the 1990s.

Not the notorious Sydney imam Sheikh Hilali,  who compared rape victims to "uncovered meat" eaten by cats. (I suppose he'd consider these skimpily clad damsels counter-demonstrating at a recent anti-mosque rally in Queensland to be prime cuts.)

Not the fanatical proponents of a Caliphate in Australia, in which, of course, women would be relegated to third-class status, the Islamic equivalent of a certain twentieth-century totalitarian movement's "Kinder, Küche, Kirche".

Yet despite the cringe-worthy gender inequality inherent in Sharia Law, not least regarding witnesses to rape, we learn that "Sue is going".

The Sue in question is radical leftist political activist and local councillorSue Bolton (pictured above in anti-Israel regalia).

And socialist Sue will most certainly not be the only attendee of radical feminist principles who for reasons best known to themselves rush to the defence of a misogynistic creed.

Her remarks (and those of Perth activist Alex Bainbridge, above) are merely representative of the attitudes of (anti-Israel) Aussie activists of the Leftist persuasion in general.

Weird, the Leftist worldview, eh?

Mark Regev on Bringing Back The Boys (video)

In this exclusive interview a few days ago, Bibi Netanyahu's spokesman Mark Regev talks of the Israeli government's certainty that Hamas is behind the kidnapping of the three missing Israeli teenagers, what needs to be done to bring the boys home, why Mahmoud Abbas's unity deal with Hamas is unconscionable, and what Israel expects from the international community.

Meanwhile, the British-based Islam Channel's Current Affairs show has presented a trio of talking heads to bash Israel's response to the current kidnapping crisis: three hardened anti-Israel warriors, namely freelance writer Ben White (his latest kick at the UK "Israel lobby" and Christian Zionists has just been posted, here), lawyer Toby Carman, and ex-MP Martin Linton (remember that "tentacles of Israel" speech of his a few years ago?).

The discussion, in the unlikely event that you should you care to watch it, follows some ten minutes of background footage.

The studio anchor, John Rees, is described thus in his Wikipedia entry:
'Elected a member of the National Executive of the National Union of Students in the early 1980s, Rees is a former leading member of the Socialist Workers Party, and was for many years on its Central Committee. He was editor of the quarterly journal International Socialism for ten years and the organiser of the SWP's annual Marxism festival in 1982 and 1983 and again between 1992 and 2002.
A co-founder and a current national officer for the Stop the War Coalition, he has been a central organiser of all its marches including that of 15 February 2003. According to Rees: "Socialists should unconditionally stand with the oppressed against the oppressor, even if the people who run the oppressed country are undemocratic and persecute minorities, like Saddam Hussein." Rees is also vice president (Europe) of the Cairo Conference.
He was top of Respect – The Unity Coalition list in the West Midlands region for the 2004 European Election, and the Respect candidate for the Birmingham Hodge Hill by-election. He also stood for Respect in the 2006 local elections in the Bethnal Green South ward of Tower Hamlets, East London where he came second to Labour. Rees was controversially not selected by the SWP Central Committee to be on the slate for re-election and did not stand independently at the January 2009 conference. Shortly after his partner Lindsey German [convenor of Stop The War Coalition] resigned from the SWP in 2010, Rees and 41 other members followed disenchanted with the party's direction, internal regime and approach to united fronts (18 others who had resigned in weeks prior also supported the resignations)....'
Yet another reminder of the distinctly curious alliance that exists these days between Islam and the hard Left.

The Leftists Who Facilitate The March Of Radical Islam (includes video)

"Extermination is on its way" proclaims one of the placards
In May an item about Sister Teresa Forcades appeared in the BBC's terrible twin, The Guardian, and currently Al Beeb itself carries a feature about her that seems almost to be paying homage to the Catalan who, it enthusuastically informs us, is "Europe's most radical nun".

An adherent of "liberation theology," she is, the BBC and other leftwing media cheerfully stress, a sharp critic of what she sees as the deep-seated misogyny of the Catholic Church.

(This is the same leftist media which customarily soft-peddles the grotesque and frequently gruesome misogyny that's manifest in Islam, of course.)

"Followers of her movement, Proces Constituent, which has signed up around 50,000 Catalans this year, are mainly non-believing leftists," we are informed by the BBC. "She won't run for office, and says she won't create a political party, but she's undeniably a political figure on a mission - to tear down international capitalism, and change the map of Spain."

Her ten-point programme incudes "An end to xenophobia and repeal of immigration laws" and  'International "solidarity", leaving Nato, and the abolition of armed forces in a future free Catalonia.'

We can hazard a guess about what this Far Left radical in nun's habit thinks of Israel.  I'd wager her views don't reflect those of her fellow-Spaniard Jose Maria Aznar.

We can  but wonder why this woman and others of her political persuasion seek to flood Catalonia (and for that matter other European lands) with immigrants of the non-assimilating kind; is it some kind of death wish on their part?  I guess so.

Around the same time that the BBC was reporting about Forcades and her belief that Catalonia should throw open its doors to all comers, a writer in a publication emphatically determined to expose the dangers facing Western civilisation was reporting:

'A jihadist group affiliated with Al Qaeda has threatened to carry out terrorist attacks in Catalonia, an autonomous region in northeastern Spain that is home to the largest concentration of radical Islamists in Europe.
The threats were issued by a group called "Africamuslima" in response to efforts by Catalonian lawmakers to increase surveillance of radical Salafists seeking to impose Islamic Sharia law in Spain and other parts of Europe.
Catalonia -- a region of 7.5 million people centered on the Mediterranean city of Barcelona -- is home to the largest Muslim population in Spain. Most of the estimated 450,000 Muslims in Catalonia are from the Middle East, North Africa and South Asia.
Many of the Muslims living in Catalonia are shiftless single males who are unemployed and "susceptible to jihadist recruitment," according to diplomatic cables obtained by Wikileaks and published by the Madrid-based El País newspaper.
Spanish authorities are especially concerned about the threat posed by Salafism, a radical strain of Islam that seeks to re-establish an Islamic empire [Caliphate] across the Middle East, North Africa and Spain, which Salafists view as a Muslim state that must be reconquered for Islam.
Spain's National Intelligence Center [CNI] says Catalonia is home to hundreds and possibly thousands of Salafists who, according to intelligence experts, pose the greatest threat to Spain's national security.
Catalan officials recently have redoubled efforts to improve surveillance of Salafist groups in the region....'
From Spain to Scandinavia, and in the United States, through the connivance of supine governments and perverse leftists, radical Islamists have been making alarming headway since 9/11, suggests this Christian-made video (hat tip: Vlad Tepes blog):
