Update re the above, from reader Ian, who contacted the Council:
"Auckland Council replied to my email!
Hi Ian,
Thanks so much for taking the time to pass this onto us. We will report to YouTube and ask them to take it down.
All our official videos are on our Auckland Council account www.youtube.com/aklcouncil should you ever be looking for them.
Thanks again

I’m going to follow up, pointing out that other videos on that channel have the same footage also Syed Akbar Kamal is some crackpot “journalist” working in NZ."
And while we're on the subject of Israel-haters, here's a wee Scots laddie who's off to Brazil at the end of November. An activist from the Scottish Palestine Solidarity Campaign, he'll be participating in the anti-Israel World Social Forum to be held in Porto Alegre from 29 November until 1 December.
"Free Palestine is what I say!" enthuses this laddie. But not before he lets the cat out of the bag regarding the true aims of Free Palestine. For the World Social Forum, he tells us, will explore ways and strategems "to bring down the Israeli state".
Other enthusiasts for the World Social Forum, such as this veteran anti-Israel warhorse and compatriot of the wee laddie, are less explicit regarding Free Palestine's aims:
Here's a piece of puffery from the Forum's organisers:
No idea, Jean.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the council sponsored it, they just edited in the start and end. I've contacted the council, we'll see what happens. Also the production co URL doesn't exist.
ReplyDeleteMessage:
Hi
I couldn’t find anywhere else to send this message. Could you pass it on to the appropriate person?
I found a video, that claims to be sponsored by the Auckland City Council.
Terror - Made in Israel

I believe someone has added the start and end from an official video, to their own footage. They also use your old URL http://www.aucklandcity.govt.nz and the other link is not registered www.teamworkproductions.co.nz.
Are they falsely claiming the Council sponsored this video? If so you should put out a press release and have YouTube take down the video.
Ian
Very interesting! Perhaps, though, this crowd, frequent lambasters of Israel, have influenced the Council - I hope not:

It’s certainly very odd, some of the other “scoop.co.nz” video’s have the same introduction, but I can’t see a professional video not having proper credits.
ReplyDeleteThe named producer Syed Akbar Kamal is a real whack job
9/11 may have been an insiders’ job Article: Syed Akbar Kamal

This video might date from 2008
http://search.scoop.co.nz/search?q=Syed+Akbar+Kamal+
I can’t see the Council sponsoring “Syed Akbar Kamal: Rates Revolt in Auckland”
We'll see if the Council replies.
Just an update:
ReplyDeleteI emailed the Auckland Council and they confirmed they didn't sponsor the video. At the YT link it now says" "This video is no longer available due to a copyright claim by Auckland Council."
Hopefully all involved in making that video, will be sued and blackballed by the council.
Many thanks, Ian!!!
ReplyDeletePS I put an update in the body of the blogpost yesterday.
ReplyDeleteOpps, I missed that :)
ReplyDeleteJust as well that's noted here too - I better put (Updated) in the title.
