Eretz Israel is our unforgettable historic homeland...The Jews who will it shall achieve their State...And whatever we attempt there for our own benefit will redound mightily and beneficially to the good of all mankind. (Theodor Herzl, DerJudenstaat, 1896)

We offer peace and amity to all the neighbouring states and their peoples, and invite them to cooperate with the independent Jewish nation for the common good of all. The State of Israel is ready to contribute its full share to the peaceful progress and development of the Middle East.
(From Proclamation of the State of Israel, 5 Iyar 5708; 14 May 1948)

With a liberal democratic political system operating under the rule of law, a flourishing market economy producing technological innovation to the benefit of the wider world, and a population as educated and cultured as anywhere in Europe or North America, Israel is a normal Western country with a right to be treated as such in the community of nations.... For the global jihad, Israel may be the first objective. But it will not be the last. (Friends of Israel Initiative)

Brogues, Bradfordians And Booth In Gaza, & Other Snippets

Chag Sameach to Jewish readers.

A few stray crumbs over Pesach:

Youthful Sinn Féinians, Muslim students from Bradford, Tony Blair's sister-in-law Lauren Booth, and former Labour MP Martin Linton have been making common cause in Gaza.

For further details and a Press TV video see here

Meanwhile, Conservative John Howell  MP, who recently received a number of intemperate emails, including death threats, over his pro-Israel stance, has thanked the numerous people who sent him messages of support.
"I am eternally grateful for all the kind messages I have received. Receiving them has been a humbling experience and I have found the emails both highly moving and touching.
 My heartfelt thanks."
And here's that cute little bear again:

  1. Chag Sameach to you, dear Daphne and to your Jewish readers. And thank you for your courageous work. And happy Easter to your Christian readers and happy holidays to the rest.

I despair of the anti-semitism that is allowed to rage here in France, not only by the murderous islamists, but also by the run-of-the-mill bourgeois of the hypocritical "I dont hate Jews but they are very powerfull" kind. Mind you, the French are not alone, and with the frightening demographics here (in France statistics based on ethicity are illegal, but you just have to look around you), I nearly understand the cowardice that reigns among the politicians in electoral mode. I condemn, however, without any reserve the pro-islamist/anti-semitic manipulations of the Left and the predominantly left media here. They are bad bad bad!

    End of rant.

(I just cannot get over the massacre of these jewish children who were murdered because they were jewish children, a fact that is slowly being obscured by the media and the politicians here. DISGUSTING!)
