Eretz Israel is our unforgettable historic homeland...The Jews who will it shall achieve their State...And whatever we attempt there for our own benefit will redound mightily and beneficially to the good of all mankind. (Theodor Herzl, DerJudenstaat, 1896)

We offer peace and amity to all the neighbouring states and their peoples, and invite them to cooperate with the independent Jewish nation for the common good of all. The State of Israel is ready to contribute its full share to the peaceful progress and development of the Middle East.
(From Proclamation of the State of Israel, 5 Iyar 5708; 14 May 1948)

With a liberal democratic political system operating under the rule of law, a flourishing market economy producing technological innovation to the benefit of the wider world, and a population as educated and cultured as anywhere in Europe or North America, Israel is a normal Western country with a right to be treated as such in the community of nations.... For the global jihad, Israel may be the first objective. But it will not be the last. (Friends of Israel Initiative)

Menaced in Merkeland

The screengrab at left is from a video that the Vlad Tepes blog uploaded on Youtube some hours ago.

To quote Vlad himself:
"Youtube pulled this video and gave me a “community guidelines” strike on my channel .I guess we aren’t to know how things are in Germany today."

He then posted it to Bitchute, and you can see the brief but disturbing footage here

Meanwhile, a brave young woman, Freya from Cologne, talks frankly and fearlessly about the menace that the mass migration of unvetted Muslim males into Europe is having upon the continent's girls and women.

It's not the sort of talk we hear too often from Western "feminists".

Nor from Western liberals in general, all too prone, it seems, to sacrifice the rights of women, including Muslim women oppressed by their own culture, on the altar of political correctness.  (Instructive if depressing article here)

To quote the wonderful Professor Emerita Phyllis Chesler, a Jew and a Zionist and one of a mere handful of high-profile Western feminists who have not betrayed the cause in the face of creeping islamisation:
'.... My generation of feminists believed in universal human rights. We were not multi-cultural relativists. We called out misogyny when we saw it and did not exempt a rapist, a wife-beater, or a pedophile because he was poor (his victims were also poor); or a man of color (his victims were also people of color); or because he had an abused childhood (so did his victims)....An honor killing is the cold-blooded murder of girls and women simply because they are female. Being born female in a shame-and-honor culture is, potentially, a capital crime; every girl has to keep proving that she is not dishonoring her family; even so, an innocent girl can be falsely accused and killed on the spot....
In honor killings, murders are carefully planned conspiracies and may be perpetrated by multiple family-of-origin members. Brothers, uncles, fathers, and other male relatives usually commit the murder, although mothers have also been known to collaborate in the murders of their daughters; sometimes, they are hands-on perpetrators.
Batterers who murder in the West are usually acting in an unplanned and spontaneous way. They alone are the perpetrators. Their own families do not assist them nor does the victim’s family-of-origin. In the West, fathers rarely murder their teenage daughters. This is what happens in a classic honor killing.
Honor killings in the West are sometimes marked by excessive violence, such as repeated stabbing, raping, bludgeoning, or being set aflame. Such killings are similar to what serial killers do to unknown, often prostituted, women.
In the West, batterers and wife killers are not celebrated—they are shunned. If possible, they are also prosecuted. Hindus in India, and Muslims, worldwide, who commit honor killings, are viewed as heroes who have saved their family’s honor. Thus, they feel no shame or remorse....Only those who believe that it is shameful to expose anything negative about Muslims, especially if it is true, silence such exposure by “shaming” it as racist and “Islamophobic.”....'

David Singer: Trump Pressure Pushes Jordan to Choose Israel or PLO

Here's the latest article by Sydney lawyer and international affairs analyst David Singer.

He writes:

The Palestine Liberation Organisation (PLO) – refusing to bow to pressure by President Trump to cease payments to terrorists and their families currently exceeding US$400 million annually – is looming as a potential threat to end 96 years of unbroken Hashemite rule in Jordan.

PLO Chairman Mahmoud Abbas – addressing the ninth annual Islamic Beit al-Maqdes International Conference in Ramallah last week – has sent a veiled message of the PLO’s intention to challenge Jordan’s ruling Hashemite family if PLO demands for a State in the West Bank with Jerusalem as its capital are not met.

Jordan comprised almost 77% of Palestine between 1920 and 1946 until granted independence by Great Britain and being renamed The Hashemite Kingdom of Transjordan – subsequently being renamed Jordan in 1950 following Transjordan’s illegal annexation of Judea and Samaria in 1948 ( redesignated the West Bank).

This semantic sleight of hand could never change the historic and demographic reality that Jordan formed part of the territory comprised in the 1922 Mandate for Palestine – Jordan’s Crown Prince Hassan declaring in the Foreign Affairs Review in 1982:
“the Jordanians and Palestinians are now one people, and no political loyalty, however strong, will separate them permanently.”
Abbas told the Ramallah Conference:
“In Palestine and Jordan, we are one people in two states and we will never accept an alternative homeland.”
Abbas's statement mirrored PLO founder Yasser Arafat’s in Der Spiegel in 1986:
“Jordanians and Palestinians are indeed one people. No one can divide us. We have the same fate.”
Farouk Kadoumi – the Head of the Political Department of the PLO – told Newsweek on 14 March 1977:
“Jordanians and Palestinians are considered by the PLO as one people.”
Alleging flagrant bias towards Israel by the Trump Administration – Abbas defiantly declared:
“We are not expecting anything from them. We won’t accept anything from them.”
Abbas is being incredibly naïve if he believes he can now convince the international community into accepting that one people needs two states – and that pursuing that goal should be internationally supported at the expense of achieving an end to a conflict that originated with the 1917 Balfour Declaration.

Abbas’s categorical rejection of an American role in ending the conflict by calling on the international community to help create a second Arab state in former Palestine – in addition to Jordan – has little chance of success.

Jordan’s King Abdullah should by now be under no illusion that the PLO’s quest to create a PLO-ruled State is doomed to failure. Abdullah should view with apprehension that Abbas’s remarks at the Ramallah Conference could again be laying the groundwork for another PLO attempt to overthrow Hashemite rule in Jordan – as unsuccessfully occurred in September 1970 and is prescribed by article 2 of the PLO Charter.

The solution proposed by Israel’s late Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin in The Australian on 27 May 1985 now takes on added significance:
“the Palestinians should have a sovereign State which includes most of the Palestinians. It should be Jordan with a considerable part of the West Bank and Gaza. East of the Jordan River there is enough room to settle the Palestinian refugees”
Such a solution – negotiated between Israel and Jordan under the framework of their 1994 Peace Treaty – would see continuing Hashemite rule in Jordan being backed by Israel and America – stability sadly lacking presently in many failed Arab States such as Syria and Libya.

Abbas’s Ramallah statement has presented Jordan with a stark choice – negotiate with Israel or continue supporting the PLO and face the prospect of another attempt to overthrow Jordan’s ruling Hashemite dynasty.

Jordan’s decision should be a no-brainer.

Islam Exported: an Israeli journalist on the Muslim Brotherhood (video)

An interview by Yaron London with Zvi Yehezkeli on Saudi crown prince Mohammad bin Salman and the Muslim Brotherhood.

Read more here

It will be noted that the eminent British scholar of Islam Professor Denis MacEoin has commented as follows beneath the video on Youtube:
"I advise caution here. Many of the statements made by Muhammad ibn Salman in his Atlantic interview struck me as attempts to pull the wool over many people's eyes. For example, in the early section, he declared that 'Islam means peace' and that this was, in fact, a correct translation. As a fluent Arab speaker and reader, he knows perfectly well that 'Islam', which is the fourth form of the verb (aslama) means 'submission'. `'Peace' (from the same root) is 'salam'.
He said a lot of other things (which I can't recall now) designed to present a positive image of Islam. But the interviewee is right to point out that 'din wa dawla' go together. Islam has always been a perfect combination of religion and state. You can't, for example, remove jihad from shari'a law without removing it from the Qur'an, the ahadith, and the lives of the prophet and his successors. Ditto for the Islamic views of all nonbelievers or specifically Jews and Christians. There are many eminent would-be reformers in Islam, yet none of them has succeeded in creating a true overhaul of the faith. The only true answer to Islamic radicalism would be for total secularism. But would-be secularisers such as Ataturk or Reza Shah failed in the end – look at Turkey under Erdogan or Iran under the post-1979 regime.
In the mid-fifties, when the Baha'i leader Shoghi Effendi Rabbani was writing about the fate of Islam, he considered it a dead letter and wrote about its institutions, clergy, etc as being in total collapse. Today, it is stronger in many ways than it was in the 19th century. If ibn Salman tries to overhaul the Wahhabi state, he will be assassinated. I would like to think he will achieve great things, but I would exercise caution about him and other would-be reformers."  [Emphasis added]

The "Progressive" Destroyers of Enlightened Values (video)

A brave man speaks out on the evil wrought by the so-called Progressives in the West who are destroying all that the Enlightenment stood for, seek to silence and criminalise opinions with which they do not agree, slur their opponents as far-right fascists and racists,  and try to destroy careers.

Yes, it's Pat Condell, with a damning indictment of the anti-Israel islamophile "cultural Marxists" who have betrayed real liberal values including the right to free speech and women's rights ...

Meanwhile, an Aussie Jewish progressive writes ...

And another anti-Pipes Progressive, of the female islamophile variety, writes ...

Both on the ABC's (akin to the BBC) website, of course.

I wonder what those Progressives have to say about this

Corbyn Alights on an Alibi?

Very recently, in London, a protest against the odious British Labour Party leader:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tj_Tejf43_Y

On Yom HaShoah (Holocaust Remembrance Day):

Many people are outraged by this tweet, regarding it as cynical exploitation of the Holocaust on Corbyn's part.  To quote just one outraged observer, posting about it on Facebook from Tel Aviv:
"Don't you dare Jeremy Corbyn, don't you dare insult the 6 million Jews murdered, when you cannot remove the stench of Antisemitism from your very core, when you embrace Holocaust deniers & when you count as 'friends' Hamas & Hezbollah, who seek genocide against the State of Israel! "
Meanwhile, British blogger Edgar Davidson has a rather pertinent post, here

Leading Australian foreign affairs journalist Greg Sheridan, who's been visiting London, writes about Corbyn and antisemitism here

"Isreal": a five-minute video

Once upon a time scripture lessons were widely taught in Britain and the rest of the English-speaking world, but alas no longer, ensuring nowadays widespread ignorance of the Hebrews and their land.

Here's "History of ancient Israel and Judah explained in 5 minutes", a new video from https://www.patreon.com/Epimetheus1776 Paypal Donate epimetheus1776@gmail.com

What's  the "Isreal" that's depicted from time to time, I wonder.

On Gaza, So Very Corbyn, So Very Bartolotti

The tissue of lies associated with the flare-ups on the Gaza-Israel border in recent days has been well-investigated by Honest Reporting, here.

That the usual suspects are making the most of the opportunity to demonise Israel is, of course, to be expected, and in Australia as well as in London and elsewhere anti-Israel activists, typically a strange yet familiar concoction of far leftists and their Islamic allies, have been on the march to demonstrate support for the so-called "Great Return March".

Through the lens of anti-Israel campaigner Alex Seymour (aka Seymour Alexander), a glimpse of the bourgeois Corbynista types who made common cause with Muslim defenders of Hamas to protest in London's Whitehall on Saturday at Israel's treatment of (ahem) "peaceful demonstrators" at "a family picnic":

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WVmY--vGTgQ

How very Corbynesque of Corbyn to leave an Israel-demonising message on Facebook to be read to the demonstrators, a message that maintained, inter alia, the extremist sentiment that the so-called "refugees" (the only hereditary refugees in the world) have a "right to return to their homes" (with all that would mean for the continuation of the state of Israel!)
"The majority of the people of the Gaza Strip are stateless refugees, subject to a decade long blockade and the denial of basic human and political rights. More than two thirds are reliant on humanitarian assistance, with limited access to the most basic amenities, such as water and electricity.
They have a right to protest against their appalling conditions and the continuing blockade and occupation of Palestinian land, and in support of their right to return to their homes and their right to self-determination."  [Emphasis added]
How does the bit about Hamas go in Lord Sugar's delicious poetic tweet on Corbyn, that I reproduced  a few days ago?  Ah. yes!

Easier for the inhabitants of Gaza to blame Israel for real and imagined troubles than the fanatical bloodthirsty hard men to whom they are in thraldom.

No sympathy at all for the Israelis, facing the threat of violation of their borders ("invasion" in plain language):

On the same day that demo was held in London, half a world away in Melbourne the usual contingents of Muslims and lefties demonstrated, affirming their support for
"the bravery and resilience of protesting Gazan refugees....
Residents of Gaza are demanding their Right of Return to these erased and ethnically cleansed cities in commemoration of 70 years of Nakba, or Catastrophe, which marks the beginning of genocide and zionist occupation.
We demand the expulsion of the Israeli ambassador of [sic] Australia. We call on Australian politicians to break political and economic ties and condemn the massacre in Gaza"
And chanting that old pregnant-with-meaning catch cry "From the river to the sea Palestine will be free".  Below: a small section of the marching crowd, ahead of the inevitable gaggle of "Socialist Alliance" placard-wavers.

More on the Melbourne demo here (from which I reproduce this photo of a brave bystander):

On Sunday a similar event occurred in downtown Sydney:

Recognise anyone?  Yes, behind the flag in the lower photo that's Stephen Sizer's soulmate, Father Dave Smith, in clerical garb and keffiyeh.  In the left foreground is academic Nick Riemer, next to Palestinian activist Shamikh Badra, and (far right) the far left's Pip Hinman.

Meanwhile, today by the verbose deputy leader of the Welsh Greens, an anti-Israel stalwart of an often eyebrow-raising kind (as regular readers of my blog will be aware):

How very green of that Green.

Does she not know?  Has she not heard?

There are no Israeli troops occupying Gaza.  Nor, of course, Jewish "settlers".  None since 2005.

As for the legal status of Israel and the West Bank, an interesting interview with Professor Eugene Kontorovich here
