Eretz Israel is our unforgettable historic homeland...The Jews who will it shall achieve their State...And whatever we attempt there for our own benefit will redound mightily and beneficially to the good of all mankind. (Theodor Herzl, DerJudenstaat, 1896)

We offer peace and amity to all the neighbouring states and their peoples, and invite them to cooperate with the independent Jewish nation for the common good of all. The State of Israel is ready to contribute its full share to the peaceful progress and development of the Middle East.
(From Proclamation of the State of Israel, 5 Iyar 5708; 14 May 1948)

With a liberal democratic political system operating under the rule of law, a flourishing market economy producing technological innovation to the benefit of the wider world, and a population as educated and cultured as anywhere in Europe or North America, Israel is a normal Western country with a right to be treated as such in the community of nations.... For the global jihad, Israel may be the first objective. But it will not be the last. (Friends of Israel Initiative)

The Danger & Derangement of Social Justice Warriorism & "Intersectionality"

As the conservative columnist Janet Albrechtsen remarks at the beginning of an article in the current issue of The Weekend Australian
"There is growing concern across the West that a new form of totalitarianism is on the march.  Not the jackboot, storm-trooping, Stasi-interrogating kind from the communist era. Ours is softer totalitarianism. It stifles speech, no-platforms people with different views, disfigures great works of literature to meet modern sensibilities, kills comedy to protect feelings, restrains writers from stepping into the shoes of others, thinks diversity in public broadcasting means putting people with different skin colour on TV, rejects an exquisite painting from past centuries because an artist lived by different norms, shames dissenters, sacks scientists, and depicts Western civilisation as a shameful story of colonial aggression, white privilege and rotten patriarchy.  This new, poorly named “progressive” project premised on the virtues of diversity, tolerance and justice is proving anything but diverse, tolerant and just..."
In the following video there are so many pearls of wisdom that I soon gave up attempting to itemise them.

Please listen to the wonderfully courageous and prescient Brexiteer Douglas Murray giving, this past June, a fascinating long interview to the admirable Peter Robinson of the Hoover Institution on the whacky and worrying political and societal developments that prompted his books The Strange Death of Europe: Immigration, Identity, Islam (2017) and the more recent The Madness of Crowds.

Mr (and Ms) Plod Abet the Maiden Tribute of Modern Britain

William Thomas Stead (1849-1912), was a prominent British journalist whose series of articles in the Pall Mall Gazette under the heading 'The Maiden Tribute of Modern Babylon' exposed the horrible sexual exploitation of and traffic in vulnerable underage girls by seemingly respectable members of Victorian society shocked the nation and led to the passage of the Criminal Law Amendment Act (1885).

StephenYaxley-Lennon (b. 1982), better known as Tommy Robinson, a working class lad with in some respects a rather controversial past, is a 'citizen journalist' who was livestreaming outside Leeds Crown Court three days ago when he was arrested by a group of Mr and Ms Plods, charged with causing a 'breach of the peace', and thrown in the slammer the very same day.

In his footage he was focusing on that dastardly maiden tribute of modern Britain, the grooming and gang-rape of non-Muslim girls (mainly but not entirely white girls) by men whose cultural heritage is that of backward tribal societies so steeped in primitive misogyny that wives are routinely beaten for producing daughters instead of sons and females are gang-raped at the behest of village elders to atone for the misdeeds of male members of their families.

 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e9Z4YYIx_oI

As I mentioned here, Mohammed Shafiq, head of the Manchester-based Ramadhan Foundation, declared (to his credit) some years ago:
"There is a significant problem for the British Pakistani community, there is an over-representation amongst recent convictions in the crime of on-street grooming, there should be no silence in addressing the issue of race as this is central to the actions of these criminals.
They think that white teenage girls are worthless and can be abused without a second thought; it is this sort of behaviour that is bringing shame on our community.
I urge the police and the councils not to be frightened to address this issue, there is a strong lesson that you cannot ignore race or be over sensitive."
And Nazir Afzal, Chief Crown Prosecutor for North West England, is on record as saying that such men  'think that women are some lesser beings'.

As journalist Allison Pearson, when writing about the terrible case in Rochdale some years ago, has noted of the official British 'softly softly approach' to Muslim gang-rape culture:
'When it comes to women’s rights, not all cultures are created equal, particularly those whose attitudes are frozen some time in the mid‑14th century. But we weren’t allowed to say that. Actually, we weren’t even allowed to think that. If you inhaled enough toleration of the intolerable, then you were well on your way to the opium of political correctness.
The layers of denial run so deep that it’s important to try to be clear where we can. First, it is an insult to Hindus, Sikhs and decent, integrated Muslims to classify those brutes under the catch-all title of “Asian males”. All but one are Pakistani Muslims who come from a patriarchal peasant culture that obviously regards young white British girls as easy meat. Those children were considered fair game for degrading sexual acts on an almost industrial scale. The men took a calculated gamble that no one gave a damn about the girls. And you know the worst thing? They were right.
The number of adolescents “passed around” like a congenial hookah pipe by the gang is believed to be more than 50. There were 631 documented cases of abuse over a five-year period, and many will have been too afraid to tell their story. Some may not even be alive to tell it. We will never know the full extent of their pain.'
And here's the great Douglas Murray, speaking last year (hat tip: Vlad Tepes blog):

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4UoJareHfIw

Tragically for girls and women, and tragically for free speech and justice, that is the state of Britain today.

Had W.T. Stead not gone down with the Titanic he would doubtless be rolling in his grave.

Right, Wrong & Antisemitism

Leftist brainwashing for little kiddies; see here
In the wake of events in Charlottesville, the current issue of the Australian Jewish News (AJN) contains the results of an online poll among its readers: "Are you concerned about the rise of the far right?"

Those results, given in percentages, are 58 per cent responding in the affirmative, and 42 per cent in the negative.

Since in practice anyone can respond to these AJN polls (anti-Israel lefties sometimes alert their followers to them on social media, the better to distort the results) this may or may not represent a true cross-section of communal opinion.

At the same time, as an indication of communal vox populi, the oral answers of five named and photographed Jewish members of the public to the question posed in the poll are given on that same page.  All five are indeed concerned about the rise of the far right, which is fair enough, but two of the five respondents appear to be somewhat confused:
"Yes I am.  It is happening in Barcelona ..."
"It does concern me, but in Australia it's not as bad as the USA or Europe."
Such naivity.  Such ignorance. Evidently, those respondents are unaware of the findings of the recently-published study by University of Oslo academic Dr Johannes Due Enstad entitled Antisemitic Violence in Europe, 2005-2015, which finds Muslims, not the far right, chiefly responsible for antisemitic hate crimes in every country except Russia.

To quote from here:
'....Who is responsible for the attacks on Jews? In every country studied, except for Russia, the perpetrators are disproportionately of Muslim backgrounds. A British study cited in the University of Oslo report notes that the proportion of Muslim perpetrators increases in the wake of “trigger events” in the Middle East.
In what might be considered a clumsy attempt to downplay anti-Semitism, German authorities do not classify anti-Israeli incidents as anti-Semitism. This results in absurdity. A Muslim firebombing of a synagogue can be classified as an anti-Israeli event, but not anti-Semitic. If any country should know better, it should be Germany. Is Kristallnacht going to be reinterpreted as not anti-Semitism, but a demonstration for racial purity?
The only country where anti-Semitic incidents are not disproportionately perpetrated by Muslims is Russia, and it is the only country in the University of Oslo study where Jews do not fear to express their Jewish identity when appearing in public. This appears to perplex the study’s author, as Russia contains both large Jewish and Muslim populations.
Yet the issue is easily resolved. In Russia, the large Muslim and Jewish populations live in the same country, but are generally separated by a vast expanse of land. Most Muslims live in the Eurasian Caucasus region. Most Jews live in Moscow and Saint Petersburg....'

In 2015 no less than 10,000 Western European Jews made aliya, and many more are thinking of emigrating.  The reason is not far to seek.

Below, a 78-minute video re antisemitism in the 21st century, and a 48-minute one:

As so often, the depth of the burgeoning threats to European civilisation posed by replacement demography is excellently and articulately expressed by the courageous Douglas Murray;  in this worthwhile 13-minute video he reminds his audience (approx. 5:04) that he has no Israel to which to escape:

It is a lesson that, for their progeny's sake if not for their own, all Europeans (and other free peoples) should heed.

Britain's Peasants' Revolt (videos) (updated)

Like the arrogant political elites of both left and right, the BBC is obviously aghast at the Peasants' Revolt that has delivered responsibility for Britain's destiny back into British hands.

Vox populi (Sky News)

Vox populi  (Channel 4)

Vox populi (Channel 4)

Inter alia, it's running with the canard that Brexit-supporting oldies have betrayed the youngsters' future, as seen, for instance, in this entirely biased piece of nonsense that presents that premise as a given.

As the distinguished British journalist Charles Moore, who exposes that canard, has observed,
"Is there any country in the world – apart from Britain – where the British Broadcasting Corporation would greet the return of parliamentary democracy with terror and dismay?"

Douglas Murray talks to Ezra Levant:

The wonderful Professor MacEoin:

In London, predictably, assorted ratbags, tarring Brexiteers with the "racist" brush, show their contempt for the will of the people.

Some turn on a female Canadian reporter for TheRebel.com:

Meanwhile, American judge Jeanine Pirro takes inspiration from the Brexit vote:

A jaundiced view from an often warped newspaper (friends of Israel should reflect that, by and large, prominent enemies of Israel and their backers on social media voted to remain in the EU, all the better as a tool with which to bash Israel):

Pat Condell nails it, as so often:

Of Migration & Invasion

"As a refugee, I too welcome refugees. As a Jew, I am aware of the mitzvah of welcoming the stranger.

As an adult with life experiences, I resent economic invaders who jump queues and try to force themselves into advanced economies where they can benefit from social services.

As a prudent person, I want no part of people who come to my adopted country and demand that I and my fellow citizens submit to the standards of their religion. The same group that tells us that we must not blame them for the terror plans of a small group of them but then not only fail to condemn them themselves, but appoint extremists as religious leaders.

As a father and a grandfather, I condemn parents who have failed to raise children who respond to social issues in a rational and Jewish way."

So says an elderly Holocaust survivor in Sydney, in response to the demands of a group of youngsters calling themselves "Jews for Refugees" that Australia admit all of the illegal "refugees" who have tried to enter Australia by the back door and are now in detention offshore while their applications are considered.

He is absolutely justified, and so, despite the leftist and holier-than-though thought police, are the like-minded people, Jews and non-Jews, who deplore the current invasion of the European Continent by young men of military age posing as "refugees".

The other day, Nigel Farage, leader of the United Kingdom Independence Party (UKIP) and a staunch supporter of Brexit (Britain leaving the great bureaucratic tyranny known as the European Union) unveiled a poster in support of his stance that shows a vast crowd of young male migrants pouring into Europe.   It is a genuine photograph of real migrants, not some staged event.  It reflects what has been happening across Europe in the past few months.  Yet it has been condemned (most recently by no less a personage than J.K. Rowling) as "racist" and resembling Nazi propaganda.

What balderdash.

I'm not a particular fan of Farage, but such accusations trivialise genuine racism and undermine democratic debate.

They are attempts to silence those who deplore the creeping islamisation of Europe (sobering new article by Giulio Meotti here)  and what that entails for future generations (not least for women and girls).  Oh, and for Jews.

The estimable Douglas Murray has once again drawn attention to Europe's migration nightmare here, and how Merkel and the rest of the European "elites" have no idea how to solve this problem that is of their own making.

"Safe Spaces for Everyone Except Jews" (video)

A disturbing look at the intimidation of Jewish students on campus in the UK:

To quote the uploader:
Dr Alan Mendoza engages with a panel to discuss the rise of antisemitism on campus, often disguised as anti-Zionism. Alan is joined by Jonathan Neumann from Jewish Human Rights Watch, Ben Hayton from University College London and Devorah Khafi from Queen Mary University. Current Affairs | J-TV
And from Douglas Murray and the Gatestone Institute, a succinct explanation of why it's not surprisng if youngsters in the UK think "it's open season on Israel":

To quote the uploader:
Antisemitism isn’t new to the UK Labour Party, and its recent antisemitic outbursts shouldn’t surprise anyone. Labour Party leader Jeremy Corbyn has ordered an “independent inquiry” into the party’s antisemitism. Gatestone Institute Senior Fellow Douglas Murray explains how Labour’s antisemitism problem starts at top of the party, and why this inquiry won’t solve anything.
This is the first of the Gatestone Institute's video series, produced with the aid of The Rebel.media

Miliband & Other Crawlies

Poor Ed Miliband.

The ethnically Jewish atheist leader of Britain's Labour Party (pictured; yes, I'm too kind to post one of those grotesque snaps online showing him making hard work of chomping through a bacon sandwich recently) has vowed to outlaw "Islamophobia" if, by some unhappy mischance, he should end up as Britain's prime minister next month.

Britain's "first Jewish prime minister," according to him, blithely choosing to forget the Tory Benjamin Disraeli, who although baptised in childhood was gloriously conscious of his Jewishness, and dubbed "the Hebrew conjuror".

Miliband told the editor of the UK-based The Muslim News:
“We are going to make it an aggravated crime. We are going to make sure it is marked on people’s records with the police to make sure they root out Islamophobia as a hate crime.
“We are going to change the law on this so we make it absolutely clear of our abhorrence of hate crime and Islamophobia. It will be the first time that the police will record Islamophobic attacks right across the country,” he said.
.... “We will challenge prejudice before it grows, whether in schools, universities or on social media. And we will strengthen the law on disability, homophobic, and transphobic hate crime,” [his party's manifesto] said.
.... The Muslim community is as an “incredibly important, incredibly rich, incredible asset to our country” ...'

So how frightfully wretched it is that Red Ed has been the subject of an antisemitic tweet by a female Muslim Conservative candidate, Gulzabeen Afsar.

She's apologised and removed the tweet, and has been suspended from the party.

 Daniel Greenfield has noted:
"Gulzabeen Afsal helped raise money for Islamic Relief UK, a group that the UAE has listed as a terrorist organization and that Israel has accused of raising money for Hamas...."
Hers was not the only low message left on social media over the weekend.

On Saturday, Anzac Day, when Australia remembers its war dead, a reporter for the public broadcaster SBS made a number of highly inappropriate tweets, and is refusing to accept his the consequences.  To quote The Australian newspaper:
'The move by SBS to sack sports reporter Scott McIntyre over highly offensive Anzac Day tweets has sparked a fresh debate over freedom of speech....
The Australian understands McIntyre’s view is that the move to sack him was unfair and he is likely to contest the decision.
While he is still considering his options, it is understood he is not going to take his termination “lying down”.
McIntyre, who has worked at SBS for 10 years, declined to comment yesterday. The worst of the tweets, which have not been deleted from his social media account, read: “Remembering the summary execution, widespread rape and theft committed by these ‘brave’ Anzacs in Egypt, Palestine and Japan.”....'
On Facebook, the offending tweets have been gleefully reproduced by a Muslim group in Australia and by Muslim members of Hizb-ut-Tahrir.  And these have been approvingly shared by a radical feminist activist with links to Socialist Alliance.  None so queer as leftist feminists climbing into bed with Muslim anti-feminists.  It's that word Palestine that's the aphrodisiac.

And, lowest of the low, are these comments regarding Israel's aid to the victims of Nepal's devastating earthquake:

 Israellycool, I see, has more

But let's come back to Miliband and that promise of his to outlaw "Islamophobia".  Douglas Murray has vowed immediately to test any such legislation:
"There are many things to say about this, but allow me confine myself to three points:
If Ed Miliband does become Prime Minister and chooses to make ‘Islamophobia’ illegal would he mind letting us know what he thinks ‘Islamophobia’ is? After all a ‘phobia’ is an irrational fear. The Charlie Hebdo staff were often called ‘Islamophobes’ before (and after) two Islamists went into their magazine’s office and shot most of them in the head....
I cannot help noticing that some actual, serious ‘hate-speech’ occurred while Labour were last in power, yet nothing seemed to have been done. Consider this speech by Michael Adebolajo at a ‘Unite Against Fascism’ rally in 2009. What else was Adebolajo doing here other than inciting anti-non-Muslim violence and prejudice? Of course Michael Adebolajo actually followed words with deeds and went on to behead Drummer Lee Rigby. Where were the hate-speech laws that day?
And finally, I hate to grandstand, but I suppose I should point out that if Ed Miliband were to become Prime Minister and were to decide to make what people call ‘Islamophobia’ illegal then I’m very happy to test the law straight away. Indeed I will immediately put on a gathering of academics, writers, Quranic-scholars and philosophers – Muslim and non-Muslim – to discuss Islam. It is possible that some of those gathered may disagree with the foundational claims of Islam. I, for instance, may repeat my belief – not being a Muslim – that it is highly unlikely that the Quran was ‘dictated’ by God.... "
