Anti-Israel Fanatics Petition Morgan Freeman

Celebrated African-American screen actor Morgan Freeman is due to be honoured by the Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University at a ceremony in Toronto on 6 May:

“The Canadian Friends of the Hebrew University’s (CFHU) Toronto Chapter will present the esteemed Key of Knowledge award to Morgan Freeman in recognition of his work in combating segregation and prejudice, and promoting knowledge, learning and education throughout the world.”

Predictably, Israel-haters including the usual BDSers are up in arms, and a furious campaign on social media has been launched in order to bring pressure on Mr Freeman to refuse the honour.

"A man of Morgan Freeman's stature would be a political victory for the Israeli's if he accepted the keys. Mr Freeman, please refuse, Israel is an apartheid regime far worse than South Africa ever was."

Those are among the latest of the many slurs against Israel on a petition to Mr Freeman that's been opened.

Let's hope that Morgan Freeman recognises ignorance and malevolence when he sees it and that the hatred and libel does not succeed.

Those sounds like canned sound bytes distributed by an organization. They're not even trying to pretend they come from real people in "France" and "China" anymore.

Here's an antisemitic comment if ever I've seen one:
"It's all too late for Israel and the Jewish state. They have lost control of the international media, social media and blogosphere. The truth is out, Israel is a brutal apartheid state that has no place in the 21st century. The real demographic threat is not the Palestinians but the whole international community and there are 7 billion goyim to 15 million Jews, Jews who don't all support Zionism in any case. Short answer is, Israel is over! They can scream and cry all over the internet until the cows come home, it is too late. Zionism is an embarrassment for the Jewry and a crime on humanity. Get over it. They are all Palestinians now. The 'success plan', to throw away Gaza, add more Jews and ignore the right of return while punishing the Palestinian population... it's a failure now and will only demonstrate Jewish tendencies to oppressive behaviours that will explode on the whole Jewry. Time for Israel to grow up and embrace its inner Palestinian."

Wouldn't it be nice if these people (he said generously, as to the label used) could actually define "apartheid" and thus have a basis for their assertions. Given that they don't even know what the word means, they should be (a) sent back to school/college to learn the importance of using words correctly; (b) barred from commenting anywhere but their own sites (i.e., don't pollute the blogosphere with their offensive stupidity) until they can produce a certificate of sensibility; and (c) even then, get barred if they fail to produce evidence and rational argument.

At the very least, it would stop them from giving me a headache thinking up new ways of saying, politely because I don't want to get barred, that they are idiots, poltroons and fools.

I feel better now. Until the next time I run into them!

Expose The Lies!

There is a war of lies and deceit on the internet generating unbelievable hate by denigrating and delegitimising the legal rights conferred on the Jewish people by the League of Nations in 1922 and the United Nations in 1945. The idea that there are two narratives on the Arab-Jewish conflict is rubbish. There is only one – the factual truth that details the return of the Jewish people to reconstitute the Jewish National Home in its ancient biblical, ancestral and historic homeland after 3500 years of dispersion with the unanimous endorsement of the nation states then comprising the League of Nations.... The "Apartheid" Slur

The division of Judea and Samaria (West Bank) into three separate areas “A”, “B” and “C” was agreed on by Israel and the PLO pursuant to the Oslo Accords.
95% of the West Bank Arabs live in Areas A and B and their daily lives are under the total administration and control of the PLO since the Palestinian Authority was disbanded by Abbas in January 2013. The PLO has total security control in A and shares security control in B with Israel. Israel has total administrative and security control in C.
Israel is entitled to and will continue to take responsibility for the security of Jews living in the West Bank.
Jews were given the legal right to settle in the West Bank under article 6 of the Mandate for Palestine and article 80 of the UN Charter. They did so for decades until they were driven out in 1947 and not able to return there until 1967.
There are Arab roads only in the West Bank that Jews are not allowed to use. Jews are also forbidden from entering Area “A”. Selling land to Jews is forbidden by the PLO under pain of death. The PLO runs the daily lives of 95% of the West Bank Arabs and Hamas runs the daily lives of 100% of the Gazan Arabs. They have been under occupation – and subjugation – by these two evil groups for the last ten years and given no say in their future or any opportunity to elect others to lead them following the disastrous political decisions of their leaders over the past ten years. Hamas and the PLO do not accept the continued existence of a Jewish State and call for its disappearance.
