Eretz Israel is our unforgettable historic homeland...The Jews who will it shall achieve their State...And whatever we attempt there for our own benefit will redound mightily and beneficially to the good of all mankind. (Theodor Herzl, DerJudenstaat, 1896)

We offer peace and amity to all the neighbouring states and their peoples, and invite them to cooperate with the independent Jewish nation for the common good of all. The State of Israel is ready to contribute its full share to the peaceful progress and development of the Middle East.
(From Proclamation of the State of Israel, 5 Iyar 5708; 14 May 1948)

With a liberal democratic political system operating under the rule of law, a flourishing market economy producing technological innovation to the benefit of the wider world, and a population as educated and cultured as anywhere in Europe or North America, Israel is a normal Western country with a right to be treated as such in the community of nations.... For the global jihad, Israel may be the first objective. But it will not be the last. (Friends of Israel Initiative)

Bibi Netanyahu: "Today the Jewish People have a state! Today the Jewish People have an army!"

With the President of the Republic looking on, the eloquent Bibi Netanyahu wows an audience in Toulouse, of recent unhappy memory.  His introductory remarks are in French, and the core of his speech in Hebrew (with French translation).  He ends by chanting "Am Israel Chai" ...

Notes the video's uploader:
(video)

"Today, the Jewish people has his own state, today the Jewish people has his own defense forces and today after 2000 years the Jewish people is able to defend itself against those we wish to  annihilate us and wipe off ISRAEL  from the map, this is what we have today.Criminal terrorists like Mohamed Merah in Toulouse want to destroy our forces, our spirit and exterminate our people.
But this won't work, We lean on the shoulders of 200 generations of our people.
Am Israel Hai  Le peuple d'Israel vivra The nation of Israel will live"

  1. Incidentally, this letter appeared in the Guardian yesterday, jumping the gun, since the anniversary of the Balfour Declaration is today. Tim Llewellyn is a former BBC correspondent...

Today is the 95th anniversary of the Balfour Declaration, when the then foreign secretary, Arthur Balfour, signed a fateful letter to Lord Rothschild announcing that the British government "view with favour the establishment in Palestine of a National Home for the Jewish people". Britain thus gave the zionist movement carte blanche to transform the overwhelmingly Arab state of Palestine into a Jewish one.

To further this aim, from 1920 onwards, Britain encouraged the mass immigration into Palestine of hundreds of thousands of European Jews, expressly against the wishes of the majority population. As Palestine descended into chaos, the British washed their hands of their responsibility for the mess they had caused and stood by while hundreds of thousands of Palestinians were terrorised into fleeing their homeland, as Palestine was transformed into Israel.

We call for the British government to acknowledge publicly the responsibility of previous British administrations from 1917 to 1948 for the catastrophe that befell the Palestinians, when over threequarters were expelled deliberately and systematically by the zionist army. Most of them remain refugees today without redress. The truth about their expulsions is still not officially established, since Israel officially denies any responsibility for it.

    1. The Commentator demolished that article:
Daily Telegraph runs shameful anti-Israel propaganda piece
The point about propaganda is that is has to be convincing. Nabeel Shaath's piece is total rubbish from beginning to end

  3. Bibi - what a man - and his French is very elegant and cultured btw.Is the lovely blonde lady sitting next to Hollande his wife Sarah?

There was another interesting exchange between Bibi and Hollande - where the Israeli prime minister invited the Jews of France to come to Israel and make their life there, to which the French president replied that - he could understand those Jews who wanted to go to Israel, but he thought that their place was "here in France... to live, to work.. to grow..." and he promised them "security". Not a promise which I would trust all too much, seeing the pro-islamist action by some members of his government, and I am singling out the new minister for Justice (garde des sceaux) here, one Christine Taubira, a nasty piece of work. But that exchange between the two leaders, feisty on the surface was friendly - somehow I think they like each other.
The above from memory - I can't find the link to that exchange at the Palais des Champs Elysees now.
