Eretz Israel is our unforgettable historic homeland...The Jews who will it shall achieve their State...And whatever we attempt there for our own benefit will redound mightily and beneficially to the good of all mankind. (Theodor Herzl, DerJudenstaat, 1896)

We offer peace and amity to all the neighbouring states and their peoples, and invite them to cooperate with the independent Jewish nation for the common good of all. The State of Israel is ready to contribute its full share to the peaceful progress and development of the Middle East.
(From Proclamation of the State of Israel, 5 Iyar 5708; 14 May 1948)

With a liberal democratic political system operating under the rule of law, a flourishing market economy producing technological innovation to the benefit of the wider world, and a population as educated and cultured as anywhere in Europe or North America, Israel is a normal Western country with a right to be treated as such in the community of nations.... For the global jihad, Israel may be the first objective. But it will not be the last. (Friends of Israel Initiative)

"A Circumcised European" On Europe's Unkind Cut

http://www.seraphicpress.com/jacuse-shame-on-germany-for-circumcision-ban/

"Is The European Council becoming the new Nuremberg?" asks Jean Vercors:

The Council of Europe has just passed a new resolution (certainly not the last) that describes the circumcision of newborns of "violation of the physical integrity of children".

This resolution was adopted by a large majority in the Council, the main organization for the defence of human rights in Europe.

The Parliamentary Assembly expressed «particular concern» by certain practices it considers mutilating children, citing among them circumcision for religious reasons. The resolution was adopted on Tuesday by 78 votes for and 13 against and 15 abstentions. Let us ask ourselves this first question: how 24% of the Nobel Prizes (while the Jewish population represents only 0.2 % of the world population) – circumcised Jews – could they survive this "barbaric mutilation".

I have  another burning question : circumcised philosophers, scientists , doctors, composers , actors such as: Albert Einstein , Louis Brandeis , Martin Buber , Sigmund Freud, George Gershwin, Gustav Mahler , Irving Berlin , Felix Mendelssohn , Franz Kafka , the Marx Brothers and so many others, the Olympic champion Mark Spitz, six -time gold medal , how did they do with this horrible mutilation ?
The resolution calls on member states to initiate a debate in the country on these "mutilating practices", particularly on those who are not medically justified – as the circumcision of infants. Circumcision is not the only wrong doing, said the Council of Europe, citing mixture and female genital mutilation and other surgeries on children.

"The circumcision of male children is an ancient religious tradition to Judaism and Islam, and common in some Christian circles. Any comparison mutilation is an act of appalling ignorance at best, of defamation and anti-religious hatred at worst," said the spokesman of the Israeli Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

Muslims are not affected by this new directive, because circumcision is accomplished at the age of 5 to 8 years in Algeria, Morocco, Tunisia from 9 to 10 years in Egypt, and from 10 to 15 years in Senegal . They can quietly multiply in Christian lands.

Strasbourg Technocrats therefore want to promote the growth of the Muslim population, and at the same time gradually to – once again – make it Judenrein .

According Zentralinstitut Islam-Archiv Deutschland, the number of Muslims in Europe in 2007 was about 53 million. So goes the pro-Arab dynamics of the European Union. Moreover Brussels, capital of Europe, is currently the first predominantly Muslim city – but shhh ...

In Europe, The War Against Brit Milah Wins A Battle

It seems that the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe has in effect cast itself in the role of "Captain Foreskin" the superhero of an obnoxious American cartoon series (see here).

For it's handed a victory to the secularists and medicos who, like these in Norway, class male circumcision as child abuse and want it outlawed.

Admittedly, it's not only brit milah that's targeted, but the fact that Muslim male circumcision seems to be driving this assault on ancient custom  is hardly comforting.  Nor is the fact that male circumcision is lumped together with a truly barbaric and reprehensible practice, female genital mutilation, which migrants from benighted countries have brought to Europe, and which does deserve a zero-tolerance policy.

As Rabbi Pinchas Goldschmidt, president of the European Conference of Rabbis, recently declared regarding Sweden's proposed ban:
"It betrays a dangerous ignorance of what is involved in the practice of milah as compared with the abhorrent practice of female genital mutilation."
The Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA) reports:
'A resolution that calls male ritual circumcision a “violation of the physical integrity of children” was passed overwhelmingly by the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe.
The council, a pan-European intergovernmental organization, debated and passed the resolution on Tuesday based on a report by the Committee on Social Affairs, Health and Sustainable Development led by German rapporteur Marlene Rupperecht. The resolution passed by a vote of 78 in favor and 13 against, with 15 abstentions.
The resolution calls on states to “clearly define the medical, sanitary and other conditions to be ensured for practices such as the non-medically justified circumcision of young boys.”
It also calls on member states to “initiate a public debate, including intercultural and interreligious dialogue, aimed at reaching a large consensus on the rights of children to protection against violations of their physical integrity according to human rights standards” and to “adopt specific legal provisions to ensure that certain operations and practices will not be carried out before a child is old enough to be consulted.”
Practices covered by the resolution include female genital mutilation, the circumcision of young boys for religious reasons, early childhood medical interventions in the case of intersexual children, corporal punishment, and the submission to or coercion of children into piercings, tattoos or plastic surgery.
Large majorities rejected five amendments that sought to remove or alter references to the circumcision of boys. An amendment that removed a reference to the “religious rights of parents and families” was supported by a large majority of members.
“Although the adoption of this report is non-binding and does not represent any direct threat to milah, we are troubled at the readiness of the Parliamentary Assembly to dismiss the points made during the debate about religious freedom,” the Milah UK organization told JTA. [Emphasis added here and above]
The ritual circumcision of boys younger than 18 has come under attack increasingly in Scandinavia and German-speaking European countries both by left-wing secularists and right-wingers who fear the influence of immigration from Muslim countries.'

In California, The Assault On Brit Milah Calls In a Blond Action Hero

In San Francisco, spearheaded by the Male Genital Mutilation Bill group, a proposed city-wide ban on circumcision of males below the age of eighteen gained a sufficient number of votes some weeks ago petitioning the issue to be decided in November.

Neither the Jewish nor the Muslim communities would be exempt from the ban, and anyone continuing the practice would face up to a year's imprisonmentl or a hefty fine.

Said one local mohel, Rabbi G. Y. Leeds, in a representative view:
"For a city that's renowned for being progressive and open-minded, to even have to consider such an intolerant proposition, it sets a dangerous precedent for all cities and states."
Santa Monica and San Diego are set to follow suit.

However, the ban. if enacted, will almost certainly experience legal challenges from persons and organisations arguing that the ban is unconstitutional, breaching right to religious freedom as laid down by the First Amendment.

Bizarrely, a comic book has been introduced as a propaganda tool by the pro-ban camp.

Although it has characters like these (one in a tallit) - who rejoice in the names Monster Mohel and Dr Mutilator  and are pursued by a clean-cut blond Superman-type hero called Foreskin Man (see top picture) intent on thwarting their evil deeds - the comic's originator denies that it's antisemitic.

The Elder has the measure of it (the comic book, that is):http://elderofziyon.blogspot.com/2011/06/anti-semitic-comic-book-foreskin-man.html

Here's Lloyd Schofield, one of the pro-ban activists,  in a rough interview with a frank and forthright Mark Levin, who - naturally incensed by the implications for Jews - tells the evasive Schofield that he's "a nut," and who finds him "creepy":

And here's Schofield in more forthcoming mood, telling Megyn Kelly of Fox News about his plans; watch him grin towards the end, when she reminds him that the circumcision of baby boys is an essential rite of passage in Judaism:

Norway Gets the Knife Out for the Brit Milah

Norway, already ignominious for the amount of antisemitism rife, invites suspicions of a gratuitous offensive against one of the ancient rites of Judaism with the proposed legal amendment at the urging of the State Ombudsman for Children that the ritual circumcision of children below the age of fifteen be banned.

Since Muslim boys are circumcised around that age, if the amendment goes ahead with the proposed lower age limit they will not be so disadvantaged, but of course Jewish boys are normally received into the Covenant of Abraham on the eighth day of life, when a mohel removes the foreskin.

It's reported that in a letter to Norway's Foreign Minister Jonas Gahr Store and Justice Minister Knut Storberget, Anne Sender on behalf of Norwegian Jewry's chief representative organisation, the Mosaic Religious Community, has indicated her community's objection to the amendment, noting:
'This suggestion is going to go to Jewish media all over the world and support the idea that Norway is a "Jew-hating country.'
And we agree - this will in practice mean that "Jews don’t have access to the kingdom" again.'
Says Professor Trond Markestad, head of the Norwegian Medical Association's ethics committee, who would like circumcision to be completely phased out:
“I urge the Jewish and Muslim communities to find an alternative religious ceremony.”
