Many readers will be aware that last week Queensland counter-terrorism police raided
an Islamic bookshop near Brisbane and arrested two men, one the brother of Australia's first suicide bomber, and that today there were a number of arrests in
simultaneous dawn raids at addresses in Sydney and Brisbane, apparently in connection with a plot to kidnap, drape in an Islamic flag and behead members of the public randomly selected.
Such atrocities in the two cities are alleged to have been ordered by an Australian currently fighting with ISIS forces, namely, it is said, Mohammad Ali Baryalei (pictured), who has actively proselytised on behalf of Islam in "The Lucky Country"
– or rather The Lucky-How-Much-Longer Country (see video of him
here).

To quote an o
fficial police statement:
'The
NSW Police Force has announced the activation of a high-visibility
policing operation following the counter-terrorism operation this
morning.
Operation Hammerhead is an ongoing statewide operation
focussing on high-visibility policing, increased presence in public
places and public transport hubs.
New South Wales Police Commissioner
Andrew Scipione said he has asked the Commander of the Central
Metropolitan Region, Assistant Commissioner Mick Fuller to head-up the
operation.
“Operation Hammerhead will focus mainly on metropolitan
Sydney and primarily involve general duties police. If need be, those
officers will be used wherever our operational intelligence dictates.
Hundreds
of general duties police, as well as specialist commands, will be
deployed from the Police Operation Centre which will remain open 24/7
during the operation.
Operation Hammerhead will also patrol iconic
locations such as the Harbour and its surrounding foreshores as well as
sporting fixtures and other large scale public events,” Commissioner
Scipione said.
Central Metropolitan Commander, Assistant Commissioner
Mick Fuller said a major part of operation’s strategy will focus on
maintaining strong community engagement.
“Our aim is to provide and
maintain high levels of public safety to give all NSW residents the
confidence to go about their day-to-day business,” Assistant
Commissioner Fuller said.
“To achieve this, together with our partner agencies, we are working closely with our contacts in the community to ensure calm.
We will use a range of officers and squads during the operation that are available at all times of the day and night.
These
include but not limited to General Duties, Police Transport Command,
the Dog Squad, Operational Support Group officers, Public Order and Riot
Squad Officers, Traffic and Highway Patrol, and Mounted
Units.”

Earlier this evening (Aussie time) a crowd of Islamists organised via social media by the caliphate-seeking group Hizb ut-Tahrir (which is proscribed in most of the Middle East but allowed to operate in Australia and in that Cloud Cuckoo Land which for one more day at least we can term the United Kingdom), estimated at 100 or 200 according to source, gathered outside the Lakemba railway station (video
here) for a good old
moan about the police raids:
'Hundreds of protesters in Sydney have called on Muslims to stand as one against government aggression.
Signs reading "terror raids cannot break the spirit of Muslims" and "stop terrorising Muslims" were waived by about 10 people among the 200 who rallied in western Sydney to demonstrate against a series of pre-dawn anti-terrorism raids....About 50 people were watching from across the road....
"Women, children should be safe from the terror of the state," they chanted....'

Hizb ut-Tahrir bigwig Uthman Badar declared that
'the raids were about creating the "hysteria" needed to make the Muslim community scapegoats.
"We reject the terror laws, they only serve American wars," the crowd chanted before Mr Badar added that western foreign policy was responsible for terrorism.
"We're not fools. We know what the intent with all of this is," he said.
"The people that are leading this, the govt and its agencies ... the world has not seen greater terror than what they have infected around the world."
An incensed young man who said his mother was punched by police as the family's home was raided on Thursday morning yelled at the crowd to "wake up."
"What are you going to do about it? Talk? Seriously? Talk?"
"May Allah curse these dogs."
