"Who Speaks For The Thousands of Women Oppressed & Abused [By Islam] Every Day?" (video)

Evidently not the western liberals who readily betray the rights of girls and women on the altar of appeasement and political correctness when the oppressors are of the Islamic sort.

It's great to see the ever courageous Chloé Valdary giving Fred Lawrence and Brandeis University a  (polite) blast.

Roger the Dodger, & The Ultimate Goal of BDS

Aged rocker Roger Waters has left a message on Facebook:

I reproduce it here because, as many commenters below it have been swift to point out (though Mr Waters appears to have dodged answering those comments), it reeks of hypocrisy.  Admittedly, it condemns human rights abuses in a number of countries, but basically only as a stick with which to beat the spectres of western colonialism and imperialism.

Truly, what human rights abuses (alleged) in the western nations mentioned in Mr Waters's message can even begin to compare to the appalling barbarity in much of the non-western world? 

With the exception of Syria, the message fails to mention any of the Islamic countries, nations in which contempt for and abuse of women, girls, gays, Christians, and others who fall foul of sharia law, ancient superstition, and ruling despots, are maltreated, even to death, every day.

And, crucially,the message fails to suggest a boycott of any one of them except, by implication, the one that is Jewish: valiant little Israel.

A bit suspect that, I reckon.

The message performs the useful task of capturing the essence of the BDS movement, in singling out the only Jewish state in the world for round-the-clock calumny and demands for punishment, and so reminding us of the odious nature of BDS.

But whether all BDS advocates such as Mr Waters realise it or not (and they should at least suspect it, given the logo of the Palestine Solidarity Campaign (PSC) to which so many of them belong), the ultimate goal of BDS is the eradication of Israel.

Writes academic Ehud Rosen, an expert in modern political Islam:

'To certain audiences, BDS supporters will emphasize that the reason why the international community should apply punitive measures to Israel is due to its presence in territory captured in the 1967 Six-Day War. However, in many cases, BDS activists are often quite clear about their intentions.

Omar Barghouti: “The current phase has all the emblematic properties of what may be considered the final chapter of the Zionist project. We are witnessing the rapid demise of Zionism, and nothing can be done to save it, for Zionism is intent on killing itself. I, for one, support euthanasia.”

As’ad Abu Khalil: “Justice and freedom for the Palestinians are incompatible with the existence of the State of Israel.”

Ahmed Moor: “OK, fine. So BDS does mean the end of the Jewish state….I view the BDS movement as a long-term project with radically transformative potential….In other words, BDS is not another step on the way to the final showdown; BDS is The Final Showdown.”

If the Israeli-Palestinian negotiations bear fruit and continue, will the PA shun the growing number of its officials who support and promote BDS, or will the PA allow this tendency to continue to grow?

In the past few years, Israel has been subjected to an international campaign of political subversion – known as the “Delegitimization Campaign” – aimed at undermining its existence as a sovereign state. The campaign operates in the political, legal, academic, cultural, and economic fields, and sometimes also includes “direct action” activities such as flotillas or pre-coordinated demonstrations and marches around the world.

In many instances, the same individuals and groups – primarily from the far left, the Muslim Brotherhood including its Middle Eastern branches and affiliates in Europe, and Fatah or other PLO organizations – have been active in a range of campaigns. While these various activities and actions are presented as being initiated by grassroots, civil society organizations, they are usually part of networks made up of a rather small number of activists that work together on the basis of joint ideology and end goals, personal ties, and sources of funding....

These basic obligations are constantly reiterated by the main figures identified with BDS, such as Omar Barghouti. As he explained in January 2014:  “B.D.S. calls for ending Israel’s 1967 occupation, ‘recognizing the fundamental rights of the Arab-Palestinian citizens of Israel to full equality,’ and the right of Palestinian refugees to return to the homes and lands from which they were forcibly displaced and dispossessed in 1948.”

It is this last point that has raised suspicions about the ultimate aim of the BDS movement. Writing in the New York Times, Roger Cohen, who is often critical of Israeli policy, nonetheless concludes that the BDS movement has a “hidden agenda,” which he states is “the end of Israel as a Jewish state.” Indeed, Barghouti wrote back in December 2003 that his goal is a one-state solution, which he defines earlier in the same article as a unitary state in which “by definition, Jews will be a minority.” ....'

Can We Clone You, Chloé ... & London Guy?

Writes non-Jewish American student Chloé Valdary, who's already made a name for herself as an outspoken and stalwart champion of Israel:

Chloé  champions Israel with a zeal and a fearlessness that puts many a Jew to shame.

So does the young British man in the following video, who, like Chloé, is not Jewish and who, again like Chloé, we have met before on this blog.

His style is different from hers, but his heart is certainly in the right place, and we love him for it.

Here he is, countering anti-Israel demonstrators in London including a woman who does her best to deride Israel's well-justified reputation as a gay- and lesbian- tolerant country.

"I'm not Israeli" he corrects her at one point.

"What are you?"

"Arab."

Ah, how satisfying is the inevitable incredulous pause, before this ill-disposed and ignorant woman quickly recovers herself to tell him that he's using a racist term!

In uploading the video to YouTube, he observed:

"I went along to this 'pinkwashing' campaign against Israel, in essence its 'gays for palestine' yeah I know right? Like saying 'blacks for kkk', I had two signs on me, one saying 'I support gay rights, that is why im against your vision of 'river to the sea' palestine. palestinian gays are persecuted by their governments in their territories, they seek refuge in Israel and are accepted', the other one says 'If hamas and fatah form a coaltion will they rename themselves FATASS?!"

Valdary Goes Viral (video)

And no wonder.  This lovely, self-assured American student, Chloé Simone Valdary, whom we've met before on this blog, here delivers as cogent an indictment of BDS and as ringing an endorsement of the Zionist cause as any that we are likely to hear.  For the background to the video see this site (hat tip: reader Ian)
