Eretz Israel is our unforgettable historic homeland...The Jews who will it shall achieve their State...And whatever we attempt there for our own benefit will redound mightily and beneficially to the good of all mankind. (Theodor Herzl, DerJudenstaat, 1896)

We offer peace and amity to all the neighbouring states and their peoples, and invite them to cooperate with the independent Jewish nation for the common good of all. The State of Israel is ready to contribute its full share to the peaceful progress and development of the Middle East.
(From Proclamation of the State of Israel, 5 Iyar 5708; 14 May 1948)

With a liberal democratic political system operating under the rule of law, a flourishing market economy producing technological innovation to the benefit of the wider world, and a population as educated and cultured as anywhere in Europe or North America, Israel is a normal Western country with a right to be treated as such in the community of nations.... For the global jihad, Israel may be the first objective. But it will not be the last. (Friends of Israel Initiative)

Pope Francis Has Joined The Evil-Doers, Argues David Singer

Here, entitled "Palestine: Pope Forfeits Spiritual And Moral Authority," is the latest article by Sydney lawyer and international affairs analyst David Singer.

He writes:

Pope Francis has suffered a serious blow to his spiritual and moral authority following the Vatican's recognition of the "State of Palestine" in a new treaty announced on 13 May.

The Vatican's latest slippery slide into political and legal chaos represents a clear breach of clause 11(2) of the 1993 Fundamental Agreement Between The Holy See And The State Of Israel which provides:

"The Holy See, while maintaining in every case the right to exercise its moral and spiritual teaching-office, deems it opportune to recall that owing to its own character, it is solemnly committed to remaining a stranger to all merely temporal conflicts, which principle applies specifically to disputed territories and unsettled borders."

Vatican officials openly admitted that this new treaty did not constitute the Holy See's first breach of the Fundamental Agreement Vatican spokesman Father Federico Lombardi pointing out:

"We have recognized the State of Palestine ever since it was given recognition by the United Nations and it is already listed as the State of Palestine in our official yearbook"

This latest challenge to the Pope's spiritual and moral authority first transgressed by his predecessor Pope Benedict  arises from the fact that the United Nations recognition of the State of Palestine on 29 November 2012 affirmed:

...the right of the Palestinian people to self-determination and to independence in their State of Palestine on the Palestinian territory occupied since 1967...

600000 Jews presently live in this designated territory. PLO Chairman Mahmoud Abbas warmly welcomed by Pope Francis this week as a potential "angel of peace" has insisted upon their total displacement and removal as a condition of any peace agreement.

Abbas made his racist views very clear in Cairo on 28 July 2010 when he told Wafa - the official Palestinian news agency:

"I'm willing to agree to a third party that would supervise the agreement, such as Nato forces, but I would not agree to having Jews among the Nato forces, or that there will live among us even a single Israeli on Palestinian land."

Abbas Israel's putative "partner for peace" leads an Organisation that claims the entire territory of former Palestine as another exclusive Arab fiefdom denying the Jews any political rights in their biblical, ancestral and internationally sanctioned homeland.

Abbas's continuing refusal to recognise Israel as the nation State of the Jewish people has been a major roadblock to the successful conclusion of negotiations between Israel and the PLO.

Pope Francis like his predecessor Pope Benedict is apparently prepared to ignore that Abbas and the PLO remain sworn enemies of the Jewish people - pursuing the total elimination of the Jewish State by armed struggle as documented in the 1968 PLO Charter.

The Pope has strayed from the eternal message of the Psalms - the key to the spirituality of the Old Testament and an essential and permanent part of Christian prayer.

Psalm 28 in the New Jerusalem Bible declares:

Do not drag me away with the wicked, with evil-doers, who talk to their partners of peace with treachery in their hearts.

Repay them as their deeds deserve, as befits their treacherous actions; as befits their handiwork repay them, let their deserts fall back on themselves.

They do not comprehend the deeds of Yahweh, the work of his hands. May he pull them down and not rebuild them!

Pope Francis like Pope Benedict has joined the evil-doers to the chagrin of the Jewish people.

Pope Benedict's desert the birth of Islamic State in 2014 has seen the willful killing, forced conversion and wholesale destruction of ancient Christian communities in Iraq and Syria.

Pope Francis's desert remains unrevealed.

  1. Current course and speed the next Pope will be a black Lesbian Muslim Marxist.

    1. ....with at least for same sex wives one among whom will not yet have graduated from Kindergarden.

I also think that the present (at best "jew-disliking") pope came in on the same bus as Obama.

  2. "Pope Francis – like Pope Benedict – has joined the evil-doers to the chagrin of the Jewish people....'

I think that the attacks on Pope Benedict from ALL sides were not always justified. Before his wings were clipped he criticised islam and that brought a lot of ad hominems down on him. Plus his "resignation" was more than suspicious: This man, after initially being a very reluctant candidate - and did it only out of loyalty for his predecessor and friend who wanted him in the chair - would not be the type to leave what he found to be his duty as he did.
Like in Denmark, something stinks to high heaven in the present Vatican.

  3. I find myself nonplussed and disturbed - even shocked - by Singer's apparent invitation to the reader, at the end, to complacently and even with approval interpret the unloosed Muslim genocide of the indigenous Christians in Iraq and Syria - the rapes, the beheadings, etc - as something that these Christians had coming to them as ...the proper and richly-deserved punishment of the previous Pope. So God *orders* and permits the massacre, rape and torture of helpless Christian children, in order to inflict a divine lesson on...the Pope? The Pope who is not even the recognised leader of many of those Christians? Not all of them are Catholic (and one could see them as having been betrayed by their leader, if they are), many are Orthodox or Nestorian? So, according to Singer, God says, "I'll let those Islamic State Muslims KILL lots and lots and lots of Christians in Syria and Iraq; they deserve it, because of the Pope.". wouldn't it make more sense for God to punish the pope himself? Isn't it "the soul that sinneth, it shall die"? Do those Christians *deserve* to be murdered now, right down to the last person, by Musilm jihadis, because of something the last Pope did, over which they have no control whatsoever? Does David Singer view in a similar light, as divine punishments of Pope *Benedict*, the Muslim murders and rapes *today* of Coptic Christians? The Muslim kidnappings of evangelical Christians and Anglicans in N Nigeria? If Asia Bibi is butchered by Muslims - who intend to punish her for having said she preferred Jesus to Mohammed - will Singer look on with satisfaction as proof that God is punishing Pope Benedict? (do all Christians everywhere deserve to be killed - do *I* deserve to be murdered? I am a Christian - because of something that one Pope did?). Perhaps those two Pakistani Christians who were bashed by a Muslim mob and thrown into a brick kiln to burn to death *deserved* to die - God decreed their horrible deaths, in order to...punish Pope Benedict??? I can't go there. And I can't go with Singer's apparent expectation or invitation to us to anticipate that Pope Francis' error will be properly punished,, presumably, more Muslim mass murders of thousands or even millions of Christans, many of whom don't even count the Pope as their religious leader, and who probably don't even know what he does or did or said and wouldn't be heeded by him if they tried to tell him to do differently.

You totally misconstrue and misrepresent the tenor of my article.

The assault on Christian communities in Syria and Iraq is not God-ordained but is the result of the human actions of those who profess to be Moslems. It is horrifying and incomprehensible.

Regrettably Jews are under similar assault by Moslems who want to see the eradication of the State of Israel and its replacement with the State of Palestine.

Pope Benedict and Pope Francis have chosen to support these "evil-doers, who talk to their partners of peace with treachery in their hearts."

They do so despite the fact that the Holy See has agreed that " it is solemnly committed to remaining a stranger to all merely temporal conflicts, which principle applies specifically to disputed territories and unsettled borders."

Psalm 28 states "Repay them as their deeds deserve, as befits their treacherous actions; as befits their handiwork repay them, let their deserts fall back on themselves."

Perhaps the desert awaiting Pope Francis can be found in the following report:
Last month, in a video showing the beheading of 21 Egyptian Coptic Christians in Libya, one of the killers said: "Safety for you crusaders is something you can only wish for ... We will conquer Rome, by the will of Allah."

As the old saying goes- "if you lie down with dogs you get up with fleas."
