After a long sojourn in the dear old Mother Country, I'm about to begin my journey back to Australia, and this blog will be taking a week or so's holiday while I'm in transit, etc.
Please stick around!
I'll be back blogging soon, and will continue with the usual themes, including the British ones.
As for Daniel. well, here is Daniel – British-born Daniel Taub, Israel's ambassador in the UK, delivering a fine speech last week on Israeli Independence Day.
Have a safe trip...
ReplyDeleteThanks, Rob. Am now back - very jet lagged!
DeleteSafe travel.
ReplyDeleteThanks. Am a very bad traveller but managed to get here without too much angst.
DeleteDear Daphne,
ReplyDeletePlease G-D have a safe flight and when you get settled I'll be looking forward to your resuming your blog which I have already told you is my very favorite.
Sincerely Cry4dance
You're very kind, Cry4Dance. I'm flattered. Haven't yet moved into permanent accommodation so no internet access at moment other than at this hotel. Hope to get settled by next weekend.
DeleteBon Voyage and WELCOME BACK HOME...Australia needs people like you! Just in time for the upcoming elections ;)
ReplyDeleteAw shucks, Rita. Have been at a communal function this afternoon but really jet-lagged. Had forgotten how hot and humid the old place can be!

Translation:
May it be Your will, G-d, our G-d and the G-d of our fathers, that You should lead us in peace and direct our steps in peace, and guide us in peace, and support us in peace, and cause us to reach our destination in life, joy, and peace (If one intends to return immediately, one adds: and return us in peace). Save us from every enemy and ambush, from robbers and wild beasts on the trip, and from all kinds of punishments that rage and come to the world. May You confer blessing upon the work of our hands and grant me grace, kindness, and mercy in Your eyes and in the eyes of all who see us, and bestow upon us abundant kindness and hearken to the voice of our prayer, for You hear the prayers of all. Blessed are You G-d, who hearkens to prayer.
Jean
Merci beaucoup, Jean. It's kind of you to take the trouble to post that - am very touched!
