Eretz Israel is our unforgettable historic homeland...The Jews who will it shall achieve their State...And whatever we attempt there for our own benefit will redound mightily and beneficially to the good of all mankind.(Theodor Herzl, DerJudenstaat, 1896)
We offer peace and amity to all the neighbouring states and their peoples, and invite them to cooperate with the independent Jewish nation for the common good of all. The State of Israel is ready to contribute its full share to the peaceful progress and development of the Middle East.(From Proclamation of the State of Israel, 5 Iyar 5708; 14 May 1948) With a liberal democratic political system operating under the rule of law, a flourishing market economy producing technological innovation to the benefit of the wider world, and a population as educated and cultured as anywhere in Europe or North America, Israel is a normal Western country with a right to be treated as such in the community of nations.... For the global jihad, Israel may be the first objective. But it will not be the last.(Friends of Israel Initiative)

She was hoping to get back into the thick of Aussie federal politics, former UNRWA lawyer and unreformed Israel-hater Melissa Parke, who when representing (2007-16) the safe Labor seat of Fremantle, Western Australia, was a junior minister in the latter stages of Kevin Rudd's government, swept from power in 2013.
In selecting the glamorous blonde to run against conservative Celia Hammond in the normally safe Liberal WA seat of Curtin, relinquished by glamorous blonde Liberal former Foreign Minister Julie Bishop, Labor bigwigs evidently thought her high profile meant Ms Parke had a fighting chance of wresting the seat away from the less stellar Liberal hopeful.
But it's all gone awry for Parke and her backers, because she's now quit as a candidate in order to save her embarrassed party the "distraction" caused by her loathsome antisemitic slurs on Israel, scathingly compared in today's Melbourne Herald Sun by political commentator James Campbell as "actually manag[ing] to say something new" in the "long history of slanders" of the Jewish people.
A proponent of BDS in its economic and cultural guises, who in 2017 was one of about 60 prominent Australians(including APAN's president, ex-Bishop Browning) publicly opposed to Bibi Netanyahu's visit to Australia, Parke last month told the launch of WA Labor Friends of Palestine (to quote a report in WA Today) that
'Australia should recognise a Palestinian state and likened Israel's
settlements to China's island building activity in the South China Sea.
She
also took aim at Israel's influence in Australian politics and said
there was no doubt Palestinian rocket attacks on Israel, while illegal
under international law, were "a reaction to and a consequence of
decades of brutal occupation".
Ms Parke, a former lawyer for the
United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in Gaza,
said Australia had to break away from its "strategic dependence" on the
United States and recognise Palestine as a state, which is contrary to
Labor policy.
"There are already 137 nations that recognise the state of Palestine, that is more than 70 per cent of the world," she said.
"And, inshallah [Arabic for 'God willing'], Australia will join that consensus once we have a Federal Labor government.
An APAN illiterate has his say
"It's
also time finally for Australia to support an end to the brutal
occupation of Palestine and for the right of return of the Palestinian
refugees."
In her
speech to Palestinian supporters, which was held in the Perth offices
of the United Voice union, Ms Parke said the discrimination experienced
by Palestinians in Israel was because of a "fully fledged system of
Apartheid"....
"A false narrative sold to the western world is that Israel is a beacon of western democracy and human rights."
Ms Parke said Israel "propagates the myth that it is a small country that just wants to live in peace".'
Moreover,
'WAtoday also revealed earlier this week WA Labor senator and
Senate Deputy President Sue Lines told the same meeting of
pro-Palestinian activists that a powerful "Israel lobby" had been
influencing her party's policy on Palestine and peace in the Middle
East.
Senator Lines said policy in the area had stalled
because "the Israeli lobby is so powerful within the party and outside
of the party".'
The report quotes Executive Council of Australian Jewry co-CEO Alex Ryvchin as follows:
'He
said Ms Parke had the "inglorious distinction" of being the first, and
only, Labor MP to publicly endorse the Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions
(BDS) campaign, which seeks to force Israel to withdraw from occupied or
contested territories and aims at "the complete and total isolation of
the state of Israel and to dismantle the national home of the Jewish
people".
"BDS was rightly condemned as a form of antisemitism by
Julie Bishop, who Ms Parke is now seeking to replace as the federal
member for Curtin," Mr Ryvchin said."BDS has also expressly been repudiated by the Australian Labor Party and rejected as national policy even by the Greens."It
is regrettable that such an extreme and divisive figure should receive
the endorsement of the Australian Labor Party, particularly at a time
when it is vital to strengthen the political centre and diminish the
appeal of low populism and false and polarising rhetoric."
Parke also, as widely reported today, for instance the Sydney Morning Heraldhere, declared:
"One case I remember vividly, a pregnant refugee woman was ordered at a checkpoint in Gaza to drink a bottle of bleach," she said.
"It burnt out all her throat and insides. Fortunately her baby was saved.
"Another refugee was forced to put her baby through the X-ray machine."
It is that vile canard in particular that disgusts the Herald-Sun's James Campbell, who pointedly observed that another Labor candidate, Josh Wilson, was at the meeting addressed by Parke and did not take issue with her remarks.
Campbell adds that while current federal Labor leader Bill Shorten is committed to friendship with Israel, the fears of pro-Israel Australians that, post-Shorten, the party (remember the lurking presence of Bob Carr and cobbers?) might fall into the hands of a Corbynista-type leadership remains a realistic prospect.
A tweet by Wales-based international relations academic and UK-Israel relations specialist James Vaughan ("Would talk less about antisemitism if there were less of it about"):
',,,,The Met tweeted to say police in Lambeth were investigating reports of fly-posting and that "offensive material will be removed". The posters shocked Londoners making their way home from work, with many describing them as “vile” and “terrifying”. Others claimed the adverts were a “hate crime”. A TfL[Transport for London' spokesperson said: "These adverts are absolutely not authorised by TfL or our advertising partner JCDecaux. “It is fly posting and therefore an act of vandalism which we take extremely seriously. We have instructed our contractors to remove any of these posters found on our network immediately.”....'
Making mendacious, dehumanizing, demonizing, or stereotypical
allegations about Jews as such or the power of Jews as collective — such
as, especially but not exclusively, the myth about a world Jewish
conspiracy or of Jews controlling the media, economy, government or
other societal institutions.
Accusing Jews as a people
of being responsible for real or imagined wrongdoing committed by a
single Jewish person or group, or even for acts committed by non-Jews.
Denying the fact, scope, mechanisms (e.g. gas chambers) or
intentionality of the genocide of the Jewish people at the hands of
National Socialist Germany and its supporters and accomplices during
World War II (the Holocaust).
Accusing the Jews as a people, or Israel as a state, of inventing or exaggerating the Holocaust.
Accusing Jewish citizens of being more loyal to Israel, or to the alleged priorities of Jews worldwide, than to the interests of their own nations.
Denying the Jewish people their right to self-determination, e.g., by claiming that the existence of a State of Israel is a racist endeavor.
Applying double standards by requiring of it a behavior not expected or demanded of any other democratic nation.
Using the symbols and images associated with classic antisemitism (e.g., claims of Jews killing Jesus or blood libel) to characterize Israel or Israelis.
Drawing comparisons of contemporary Israeli policy to that of the Nazis.
Holding Jews collectively responsible for actions of the state of Israel.
"[O]n Israel, on the Jewish State, suddenly freedom of speech becomes important to them. The Corbyn crew is reluctant to adopt in full the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance’s definition of anti-Semitism because they think it will undermine the freedom to denounce and mock and ridicule Israel. This is literally the only time I have heard Corbynistas defend freedom of speech. The only freedom that excites them is the freedom to say Israel is foul, Israeli leaders are Nazi-esque, and British Jews might be a tad disloyal to Britain.
As I say, double standards. Jews and Jewish issues are always treated differently by Corbynistas. And there’s a word for that: prejudice...." [Emphasis added]
Double standards appear to be discernible in these interviews by the BBC's Victoria Derbyshire, who closely quizzes and frequently interrupts Mark Lewis (a prominent lawyer) and Mandy Blumenthal (whom she ludicrously describes as a member of the non-existent UK Zionist Party!) regarding their perceptions of antisemitism, in contrast to her interview with three Muslims regarding "Islamophobia".
To quote a certain indefatigable pro-Israel activist, commenting on Facebook:
"Derbyshire's interviewing of Mark Lewis and Mandy Blumenthal was appalling. She pretended there was no antisemitism in Labour. She simply read out Corbyn's statements. She was like his press spokesperson. Shameful. She even told Blumenthal she is a member of the 'UK Zionist Party'! Such ignorance. There is no such Party."
Invoking, inter alia, Labour Party antisemitism and Saudi Arabian antisemitism, a UKIP member of the London Assembly, David Kurten, runs rings around London mayor Sadiq Khan regarding the latter's attitude towards President Trump.
A tinker out of Bedford, A vagrant oft in quod, A private under Fairfax, A minister of God – Two hundred years and thirty Ere Armageddon came His single hand portrayed it, And Bunyan was his name!
Thus wrote Rudyard Kipling in his poem "The Holy War" (1917) of John Bunyan, author of APilgrim's Progress.
Not too many Christian pilgrims featured in this must-see piece, I fear, nor much of progress either.
And certainly no traces of what Bunyan, Kipling and we ourselves might conceive of as a "holy war".
It's absolutely sweltering in south-east Australia today, and even though I've a fan on my desk blasting cold air I'm too lethargic to write much.
So, instead of hot air from me, there are these new graphics, which many readers will have already seen elsewhere. For insights into the hypocritical Western anti-Israel mindset they're pretty good, aren't they?
This incisive video on antisemitism in the Occupy Wall Street movement hits the nail on the head regarding the ostensibly baffling nexus between extremists of the Left, of the Right, and of Islam.
Here's another example of leftwing slanderers of Israel, the type of people on whom my previous post focuses. A breakaway group of "Occupy Boston" Israel-defamers march to the Israeli Consulate, barge in, and chant the usual crap about "apartheid" - at one point intoning a female demoniser's soundbites repetitively in the robotic way that followers of some crackpot sect might repeat the sayings of its resident guru. Oh, and they'll "be back". (Read more about this event here)
Beneath a newly-uploaded video of the most recent march (last month) of the Melburnian leftwing rabble who demonise the Jewish State in general and Max Brenner in particular the uploader declares:
"The following is the footage from the latest BDS action in Melbourne, as we marched down the streets of the CBD chanting loudly for Palestinian liberation.
Australia is a very pro-Israel nation, with a strong lobby, a powerful pro-Israel Murdoch press, and an ideological framework installed that defends Israel's right to commit apartheid and terrorism upon the Palestinians without regret. In its history, Australia has been always a leading nation in defending and condoning war crimes committed by its allies, including the United States, Sri Lanka, Britain, etc, and include now Israel to that list. As such, we are facing an uphill battle by organising and participating in these BDS rallies against those businesses that profit from apartheid and terrorism...."
(Will Richard Goldstone's recent demolition of the slander that Israel practises apartheid cut any ice with these people? The Equator belt is likely to freeze over first...)
On Twitter, an "ethical" travel writer, Gail Simmons, whose work appears in the Guardian, made the following ill-informed and obscene tweet, caught by the redoubtable Adam Levick of CiF Watch:
"One of the greatest supporters of Zionism was Hitler himself. Explains lots about the actions of the Zionists!"
As an indignant Aussie reader of CiF Watch, and of this blog, remarked, in a letter to Al Grauniad:
'Your newspaper has an infamous reputation in the Jewish community worldwide as being amongst the most anti-Israel and even Judeophobic publications in the English speaking world, so I'm not "holding my breath" for you to take my complaint seriously....
However, when your travel writer, Gail Simmons, "tweets" that Hitler was a Zionist; I have to complain. Not only is this a gross inversion of History (Hitler had plans to invade Palestine and Murder the Jews there with the help of his friend the Mufti of Jerusalem once he was done murdering European Jews), it is about as highly offensive to Jews and Israelis as it gets....
Why is it that Jews are the only ethnic or religious group that can be insulted without consequences by your employees?'
Why indeed.
On the blog "Liberal Conspiracy," Ben White, another darling of the Guardian and author of Israeli Apartheid: A Beginner's Guide, questions Conservative MP Louise Mensch's forthcoming appearance as a guest speaker at a conference organised by the pro-Israel organisation StandWithUs:
'The attendance of a Member of Parliament at such an event is troubling, given StandWithUs’ track record of promoting extreme positions and working with disturbing allies.
The UK chair of StandWithUs disputes the international legal consensus that Settlements in the Occupied West Bank are illegal.
A 2009 investigation into StandWithUs’ donors accused the group of having "a web of funders who support organisations that have been accused of anti-Muslim propaganda and encouraging a militant Israeli and U.S. foreign policy in the Middle East"....
A StandWithUs event of the same name happening in the US this month features Itamar Marcus, an Israeli settler who features in Islamophobic film Obsession.
Here in the UK, StandWithUs is working with religious fundamentalists, sending their national coordinator to speak at a conference promoted by those who believe that God will "curse those who curse Israel"....'
To which the well-known blogger Richard Millett has, among other commenters, made the highly pertinent response:
'This is beyond parody allowing White to smear SWU when White was due to share a platform with Sheikh Raed Salah (until Salah was arrested) who has made derogatory statements about Jews and gays. For example, calling homosexuality "a crime. A great crime. Such phenomena signal the start of the collapse of every society".'
Love him or loathe him, Pat Condell doesn't mince his words in this video, which should be mandatory viewing for all those western left-liberals who make common cause with Islamofascists in castigating Israel and seeking its demise.
In Front Page magazine David Solway has written a perceptive and timely article entitled "Islamophilia and Judeophobia," examining the Western liberal establishment's "venereal attachment to Islam and its tandem resilement of Israel and Jews," its "schmoozing with terrorists," and its "demonization of Israel" which, as he puts it,
"is a sign not only of collective bad faith, international hypocrisy, millennial prejudice and pure malevolence, but quite simply of massive intellectual derangement. It is facilitated by a refusal to sift the historical facts from the welter of lies and disinformation that deliberately cloud the historical and political context, the dismissal of the provisions of international law and, once again, the abandonment of reason."
Having pointed to the manifestations of this phenomenon in Norway, he concludes:
'What we are really witnessing in Europe, the U.S., and its outriders in Canada and Australia—the synoptic West—is the doleful spectacle of a civilization in denial, a myopic civilization that in most of its cultural and political centers will not recognize it is under attack and that seems haplessly incapable of mounting meaningful resistance, let alone launching a counter-attack against an apocalyptically-inspired enemy to ensure its own preservation—what Paul Berman in Terror and Liberalism designates as “the self-absorbed delusions of the Eurocentric imagination” refusing to understand that “a liberal society must be, when challenged, a warlike society; or it will not endure.” The turn against Israel is merely another expression of the West’s complicity in its own demise, for Israel is not only the ancient home of the Jewish people to which it is legally and historically entitled, it is the fount of the West’s moral and cultural inheritance, and a tributary source of the West’s civilizing imperative.
One "liberal" of the type identified by Solway is former Norwegian Prime Minister Thorbjorn Jagland, Secretary-General of the Council of Europe. He features in my recent blogpost on the toxic amount of antisemitism in Norway, much of it driven by the political left. http://daphneanson.blogspot.com/2011/07/sad-song-of-norway-its-antisemitic.html
Immediately after Breivik's atrocities, the pro-Palestinian Jagland (whose own nation cares little about Jews' rights amid the multicultural mix that it's become, and who decried a Jew's appointment as Obama's chief of staff) told a British newspaper, The Observer, Sunday stable-mate to the odious anti-Israel Guardian (itself a classic exemplar of left-liberal Islamophilia) that is incumbent on western political leaders to beware of stoking far-right, anti-Muslim sentiment. This is obviously a rebuke to David Cameron, who recently made an uncharacteristically tough speech regarding multiculturalism and the limits of tolerance: http://daphneanson.blogspot.com/2011/02/requiem-for-islamic-wolves-in-sheeps.html
So presumably if Jagland (who wants to rebrand multiculturalism "diversity"), would have political leaders and all the rest of us turn a deaf ear to speeches such as this one, or at least a blind eye to who is doing the talking:
It's high time Jagland and his compatriots, especially the ruling leftist elite, took some advice themselves. They could do no better than to heed Alan Dershowitz, who knows partly from firsthand experience what a rancid antisemitic country theirs is:
"The time is long overdue for Norwegians to do some deep soul searching about their sordid history of complicity with all forms of bigotry ranging from the anti-Semitic Nazis to the anti-Semitic Hamas. There seems to be a common thread" http://www.hudson-ny.org/2310/terrorism-norway-israel
Inevitably, it's being claimed in some quarters, including Norwegian ones, that Breivik was in the pay of Mossad:
And almost as soon as Breivik's "Manifesto" became known, individuals whose writings he's mentioned were being blamed as if they'd somehow egged him on.
A post on a leftwing site in the United States typifies the depths to which a number of anti-conservatives will go to impugn their opponents and cajole them into silence. It begins:
'As a writer, it sure sucks when someone murders a bunch of people based on your ideas. (I mean, I assume that sucks. Weirdly, it's never happened to me.) So you can understand why right-wing anti-Islam bloggers are all being kind of defensive, these days.
Anders Breivik, the anti-Islam terrorist who killed 77 people in Norway on July 22, read a lot of American anti-Islam bloggers, many of whom he cited in his lengthy manifesto. Breivik's favorites included Robert Spencer, a self-proclaimed expert on Islam whose "Jihad Watch" blog was quoted and cited in Breivik's manifesto, and Spencer's ally and collaborator Pam Geller, whose "Atlas Shrugs" was similarly recommended by the killer.' http://www.salon.com/news/politics/war_room/2011/08/01/pamela_geller_norway
".... Even though the stakes in the present conflict over multiculturalism in the West are very high -- with the concepts of free speech, the rule of law, equality of women and freedom of religion all open to debate -- most conservatives have respected the rules of evidence and the avoidance of ad hominem abuse.
As one of the annotations to an edited video on the Vlad Tepes blog of a press conference by British Islamists notes, it's not certain that those featured will succeed in their stated aims, but it's not certain they'll fail, either.http://vladtepesblog.com/?p=36208
"If Jews all gather in Israel, it will save us the trouble of going after them worldwide", Hezbollah’s Hassan Nasrallah once said.
“We are not fighting so that you will offer us something”, his colleague Hussein Massawi is on record as stating. “We are fighting to eliminate you.”
Similarly, the late (assassinated) Sheikh Ahmed Yassin of Hamas remarked : "Make no mistake, there will be no peace as long as there is a Zionist-Jewish state. Our holy goal is to liberate all of Palestine, and if the Jews do not go, they will die. All of Palestine is Islamic land – every inch."
As I posted recently (“Still Crazy After All These Years” and “Recognition for Peace? Or Recognition for Jihad?”) there are indications that the eradication of Israel is the Palestinians’ true endgame – the achievement of their own state being seen by what would appear to be a majority of Palestinians polled to be but a stepping stone on the way to a one-state solution entailing their sovereignty over what is now Israel, and the consequent emergence of yet another Arab, Muslim state in the region. Bye, bye Israel.
Khaybar Khaybar ya yahud, jaish Mohammed saya'ud (“Jews, remember Khaybar, the army of Mohammed is returning”) chanted some members of the Gaza-bound IHH flotilla that set out from Cyprus last May. They were referring to the slaughter during the seventh century of Jewish residents of a town in what is today Saudi Arabia, and the significance of their words were not lost on Israeli leaders.
“The fact that participants on the flotilla would chant such things shows the true nature of some of the participants and its true motivation,” observed Deputy Foreign Minister Danny Ayalon. "This amply demonstrates that many are not against a particular policy of the Israeli government, but have very real and dangerous hatred for Jews and the Jewish state.”
Beerooch, beedam, neefdeek ya Falastin (“With spirit, with blood we will free you, O Palestine”) is one of the confrontational slogans yelled by Islamists at anti-Israel rallies in the West.
And here’s a longer vow that’s yelled, as at a noisy and noisome demo in 2006 outside the Israeli Consulate in San Francisco:
Falastin beladna! Wel Yahud kelabna! Falastin beladna! Wel Yahud kelabna! Falastin beladna! Wel Yahud kelabna!
(Palestine is our land!
And the Jews are our dogs!
Palestine is our land!
And the Jews are our dogs!
Palestine is our country!
And the Jews are our dogs!)
And for non-Arabic speakers and non-Islamists there’s this, since – it’s been screeched often enough on the streets of Londonistan – “We are all Hezbollah Now”:
"Black, red, green, white!
Black, red, green, white!
We support Hezbollah's fight!
We support Hezbollah's fight!
We support Hezbollah's fight!
We support Hezbollah's fight!
And here’s a commonly repeated taunt, heard increasingly; there’s no disguising its meaning:
Palestine will be free, from the river to the sea!
Palestine will be free, from the river to the sea!
According to a study released early in December by the Meir Amit Intelligence and Terrorism Information Center, the International Solidarity Movement (ISM), in its assault on Israel’s very right to exist, supports terrorism.
An ISM activist alerting terrorists to an IDF position
‘The study says that ISM, originally a network of anti-Israeli activists founded by a group of young, extreme leftist Americans, attracted to it leftist Arab activists and several extreme leftist pro-Arab Israelis. Later, the organization also recruited volunteers from various Western countries, some of them Jews, on a platform of hostility to Israel and its policies towards Palestinian Authority Arabs.
The study’s findings strengthen statements made last October by Dafka investigative reporter Lee Kaplan to Israel National News. In relation to ISM’s activities outside of PA-controlled territories, Kaplan had said that the U.S. government is turning “a blind eye” to ISM’s illegal activities. He added that the U.S. government “is the reason the flotillas are allowed to survive and grow.”
The ISM, stressed Kaplan, was put together by the Arab communist and terror-linked PLFP group which is “allied with communist anarchists ... and now with Hamas ... to promote the destruction of the State of Israel. They are doing a great job. I believe they pose a greater threat than the armed terrorists do.”
....Between 2001 and 2005, ISM volunteers waged activities in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip. These activities were not limited to simply helping the Arab population of these areas, but rather included the hindering of IDF operational activities. These included participating in Arab protest demonstrations and rallies, serving as human shields for terrorist operatives wanted by the Israeli security forces, locating themselves near IDF roadblocks throughout Judea and Samaria, providing terrorist operatives and their families with financial, logistic and moral support, hindering the razing and sealing of houses of suicide bombers, and holding protests along the security fence from Jenin to Jerusalem.
The study details two of what the organization considers its peak activities according to its website: the first is sending activists to serve as human shields at the entrances to the Church of the Nativity in Bethlehem, and the second is doing the same thing, this time in former PA President Yasser Arafat’s headquarters in Ramallah in April 2002 (during Israel's anti-terrorist Operation Defensive Shield, which was carried out following a series of deadly suicide bombings carried out by Arab terrorists).
.... After the second intifada senior ISM activists moved the center of their operations to the Gaza Strip, where Hamas was gaining a foothold before violently taking over it in June 2007. Four senior American ISM activists played a key role in founding an international pro-Hamas umbrella organization called the Free Gaza Movement, which sends ships to the Gaza Strip for the stated purpose of “breaking the siege,” but in fact aims to strengthen Hamas administration and intensify the delegitimization of Israel.
According to the study, senior ISM figures have devoted their time and energy to promoting FGM flotillas to the Gaza Strip since 2008, the highlight of this project being the IHH-organized flotilla to the Gaza Strip last May. In addition to its involvement in the flotillas, the ISM has also been active in two main fields: sending volunteers to protest demonstrations at focal points of Arab-Israeli friction such as Bila’in [sic; Bil’in]. These activities are held in conjunction with local Arab popular committees and sponsored by the Palestinian Authority.
The group also takes part in anti-Israeli activities in the United States and European and other countries worldwide, which include calls for boycotting Israel and its products and protests against its policies toward PA Arabs. During these protests, Israel is repeatedly represented as racist, oppressive and employing an apartheid policy. The study also says that these anti-Israeli activities go far beyond demonstrations in various cities and agitation on campuses, but also make use of visual and digital media, the Internet, and books and plays to engage in anti-Israeli hate propaganda.’
All this is reinforced by a new report, “Mapping Delegitimization”, by Ehud Rosen of the Jerusalem Centre for Public Affairs. It examines the nefarious alliance between those unlikely but equally repellent birds of a feather, the hardline Leftists such as the Socialist Workers’ Party (SWP) and Islamic fundamentalists and militant groups including the Muslim Association of Britain (MAB), who despite their differences regarding women, gays, and so forth, are dancing beak to beak owing to their shared commitment to destroying Israel and bringing down the West.
Rosen explains that “politicizing the Muslims in Britain is perceived as one of the SWP’s major achievements in the last few decades” and that the MAB’s twin aims are “to guide the Islamic awakening in Britain, and to raise the political awareness of the Muslims in Britain and make them more involved in the political process”. (The report, which as Melanie Phillips observes should be read by every Member of Parliament, is available here http://www.jcpa.org/text/Mapping_Delegitimization.pdf)
Green Party leader Caroline Lucas (an MP since 2010) at a rally in 2003
A variation on the “Palestine will be free” mantra, is in the video below (of a demo outside the Israeli Embassy in London last week, to mark the second anniversary of Cast Lead) screamed by a shrill-toned youth seemingly not long out of nappies (that’s diapers to you folks across the Pond). It’s taken up later by the girl in the white hijab, whose cries of “Hey ho, hey ho, Israel has to go!” are repeated by the ecstatic crowd. And note also the squalid little speech of the representative of the postal and telecommunications union, who delights in the recent report of the Tel Aviv-based Reut Institute, which identified Londonistan as
“a hub of delegitimization, even relative to other geographical locations. London's influence emanates from the city's centrality in several major arenas - including media, diplomacy, academia, non-governmental organization, and judicial - which propel its significant global weight.
The main drivers of delegitimization in the UK are leaders within what is commonly known as the Red-Green Alliance, a reference to the increasing connection between UK-based Islamists and radical-left elements. Due to several societal dynamics, these forces - the 'Reds' on the radical left and the Islamist 'Greens' - are particularly powerful in London.” (See http://%20www.reut-institute.org/Publication.aspx?PublicationId=3949)
Note in the video, too, the accompanying whoops of the crowd – the expression on the face of the grey-haired lady bearing a Palestinian flag is a sight to behold. You’ll also have the pleasure of seeing a contingent of gentlemen from Neturei Karta. And remember – this video is not over until a little after the (slim) lady sings. (Incidentally, she’s Deborah Fink, who can also be seen on a YouTube video singing traditional Christmas carols with Israel-demonising new lyrics.)
“In the next year step up your work!”, the trade unionist in the video exhorts his cheering audience of Israel-haters, telling them all to join the Palestine Solidarity Campaign.
And in this coming year we who love and admire Israel – we who know that Israel’s cause is the cause of all free peoples everywhere, and that if Israel falls, we shall be next in line for the jihadists – must step up our work. A ruthless war of delegitimisation against Israel is being waged on all fronts. Annihilation of the Jewish State is the goal. This evil intent must not succeed.
