Eretz Israel is our unforgettable historic homeland...The Jews who will it shall achieve their State...And whatever we attempt there for our own benefit will redound mightily and beneficially to the good of all mankind. (Theodor Herzl, DerJudenstaat, 1896)
We offer peace and amity to all the neighbouring states and their peoples, and invite them to cooperate with the independent Jewish nation for the common good of all. The State of Israel is ready to contribute its full share to the peaceful progress and development of the Middle East. (From Proclamation of the State of Israel, 5 Iyar 5708; 14 May 1948)
With a liberal democratic political system operating under the rule of law, a flourishing market economy producing technological innovation to the benefit of the wider world, and a population as educated and cultured as anywhere in Europe or North America, Israel is a normal Western country with a right to be treated as such in the community of nations.... Aussie Greens See Red, Over Islamophobia "Racism"
There go the Aussie Senate's Greens this afternoon. Showing their attachment to democratic freedom of speech by walking out on a senator's maiden speech because they don't agree with what she is saying. Yep,on the far right of the picture is Greens leader Richard di Natale, and on the far left (seemingly unable to resist a parting peep at the cynosure of the assembly) is Lee Rhiannon.
The red-haired lady all eyes and ears are on is, of course, Pauline Hanson. I hold no brief for her or her political views in general, but the boycott reflects more on the Greens than on her.
As reported by the Australian Associated Press:
Reports the ABC:
Just another aspect of their sheer hypocrisy, of course.

| How about hate speech against Jews and Israel, Senator? |
'Pauline Hanson has declared Australia is in danger of being swamped by Muslims and is calling for a halt to all immigration.
Echoing her first speech to parliament 20 years ago when as the member for Oxley she made the same warning about Asians, Senator Hanson warned Australia would be living under Sharia law if it didn't act.
Muslim neighbourhoods were suffering from an escalation in crime and decline in social cohesion, she said.
How very democratic of you, Senator Rice
She used her first speech to parliament as a Senator on Wednesday night to call for a ban on Muslim immigration, as well as a halt to all immigration.
"We are in danger of being swamped by Muslims who bear a culture and ideology that is incompatible with our own," she said.
"If we don't make changes now there will be no hope in the future.
"Have no doubt we will be living under Sharia law and treated as second-class citizens with second-class rights if we keep heading down the path with the attitude 'she'll be right mate'."
Greens senators walked out half way through her speech, with Liberal senators yelling "stunt" as the minor party left the chamber.
Senator Hanson offered to personally take to the airport anyone not willing to become Australian and give their undivided loyalty to the nation.
She declared Islam was partly a religion but had a political agenda, saying Muslims were imprisoned at almost three times the average rate and unemployed at two to three times the national average.
She warned of radicalisation on the streets and slammed political leaders for urging Australians to be tolerant, insisting more Muslims were going to fight with Islamic State than the Australian army.
"How should we tell the difference? There is no sign saying good Muslim or bad Muslim," she said..
"How many lives will be lost or destroyed trying to determine who is good or who is bad?"
She called for a ban on Muslim immigration, the burqa and construction of new mosques or Islamic schools while insisting existing ones be monitored.
All immigration should be halted until Australia cleaned up its own backyard, she said, insisting Australians were suffering from massive migrant intake....
Greens senators later took to Twitter vowing to call out Senator Hanson's "racism".
Liberal senator Linda Reynolds hit back, tweeting: "we may not all agree with what she says but in Aust she has the right to say it".
Senator Hanson joked about the walk-out in her speech.
"I can feel the Greens cringing - no they've left - at the thought that I could possibly be here for six years."'Far better, of course, had the Greens, instead of boycotting Hanson's speech from at least the hallfway mark, remained in their place to hear all of what she had to say with a view to rebutting her points in a fair and civilised manner. But they are too agenda- and gimmick-ridden a bunch to conduct themselves like Liberal former prime minister John Howard.
Reports the ABC:
'John Howard told Lateline that Senator Hanson was "entitled to be treated in a respectful fashion by the rest of the Parliament".
In response to the Greens walking out, Mr Howard said: "I think that reflects poorly on them".
He told 774 ABC Melbourne earlier that it would be a mistake to generalise Ms Hanson and her supporters as bigots.
"When I was in politics I always thought it was a mistake and it was inaccurate and it was unfair to brand her supporters as racist and it remains my view, and I don't think anything is gained by those allegations," he said.
Mr Howard said the Parliament should deal with the newly elected senator on the merits of individual issues.
"When she was wrong I said so and when she wasn't wrong I didn't say anything," he said.'Of course, despite their radicalism, despite their feminism, the Israel-bashing Greens are shtum regarding Islam's benighted practices, lumping all criticism of Islam, even the un-Western misogyny lurking within Islamic teaching and sharia, under the "Islamophobia" veil.
Just another aspect of their sheer hypocrisy, of course.

In Australia, Muslims Eye Senate Seats
The cartoon below, screenshot by Reader P soon after it appeared on
Sunday (heaven knows how many "Likes" it may have by now) has no direct
connection to the subject of this post, but I thought I'd display it in
order to show the depths of depravity to which some people can sink
following the atrocities in Paris.
The founder of a so-called Australian Muslim Party, with its sights set on winning seats in the Senate, admits that his party's launch could have been better timed. But after some hesitation he decided to go ahead anyway.
Whether the party will actually get off the ground, so to speak, is another matter, but the founder seems confident it will.
Here's a video (on the left-leaning The Age newspaper, no friend to Israel), in which the founder explains his motive and in which he makes a brief and possibly telling reference to "Palestine".
More in The Guardian.
It was surprising to see, on the Channel Ten News this evening, the urbane Dr Jamal Rifi, Sydney-based leader of and spokesman for the Muslim community, approve this divisive initiative. If I heard him correctly, he said something along the lines of "It's acceptable; forming political parties is what we do in Muslim countries so why not here?"
Recently The Australian newspaper quoted Dr Rifi as saying that he and the Muslim community are "elated" at Malcolm Turnbull replacing Tony Abbott as prime minister, because Abbott's tough language had offended and alienated Muslims and played into radical hands. Dr Rifi cited, inter alia, Abbott's decision to admit 12,000 refugees from Syria, but with priority given to Christians, as well as his frequent description of Islamic State as a "death cult" and use of the term "Team Australia," terms that Turnbull has evaded.
Staying with a Muslim theme, Robert Cerantonio is an Aussie of Irish/Italian Catholic heritage who dropped his baptismal name in favour of Musa following his conversion (I'm sorry, "reversion") to the Religion of Peace©
Earlier this year the Sydney Morning Herald carried a lengthy article about him here
It seemed to present Mr Cerantonio as a bit of a buffoon, despite the authorities taking his Islamic radicalism far more seriously.
Also taking him seriously is American Graeme Wood, who in the course of a long article published last March entitled "What ISIS Really Wants," recalls his meeting with Mr Cerantonio in November last year, having been advised that he is .
Incidentally, regarding Muslims and their attitude to the Paris atrocities, a thought-provoking piece by a British Muslim here

'one of the two most important “new spiritual authorities” guiding foreigners to join the Islamic State...'In an interview with Cerantonio in a multicultural neighbourhood of Melbourne where
'young Arabs walking around in the Salafi uniform of scraggly beard, long shirt, and trousers ending halfway down the calves'Wood learned that Cerantonio
'hates seeing the violence, even though supporters of the Islamic State are required to endorse it. (He speaks out, controversially among jihadists, against suicide bombing, on the grounds that God forbids suicide; he differs from the Islamic State on a few other points as well.) ...He continues:
Last June, Cerantonio and his wife tried to emigrate—he wouldn’t say to where (“It’s illegal to go to Syria,” he said cagily)—but they were caught en route, in the Philippines, and he was deported back to Australia for overstaying his visa. Australia has criminalized attempts to join or travel to the Islamic State, and has confiscated Cerantonio’s passport... If Cerantonio were caught facilitating the movement of individuals to the Islamic State, he would be imprisoned. So far, though, he is free—a technically unaffiliated ideologue who nonetheless speaks with what other jihadists have taken to be a reliable voice on matters of the Islamic State’s doctrine. To learn what more Cerantonio said, and the rest of Graeme Wood's article, go to this link

In Oz, More Leftist Hypocrisy
![]() |
| Counter-demonstrators in Perth |
Today, it was the turn of other cities, including Sydney.
There were few(ish) disgraceful Left-orchestrated scenes of violence as in Melbourne, it seems, and nobody was sprayed by the police with capsicum.
The Left rails against "fascism" but tolerates no suggestion that radical Islam may be considered "fascist" itself.

| Left to right (but always Left): Patterson, Hinman, Porzsolt |
What strikes me, yet again, are the curious double standards that govern leftist attitudes and behaviour.
For instance, one of the speakers at the Sydney rally was Green-Left Weekly contributor Helen Patterson, an advocate for women's rights in society at large, sticking up for a creed that does not exactly display the credentials of sensitive New Age guys as far as the female of the species is concerned.
In common with many if not most of the participants in today's demo, Ms Patterson is no friend to Israel. The viscerally anti-Israel Socialist Alliance was out in force at the demo, and speakers included anti-Israel Greens senator Lee Rhiannon, while – as the above photo shows – veteran pro-BDS Israel-bashers Pip Hinman and Vivienne Porzsolt (a flotilla activist of Jewish background) were also present.
What is particularly striking is that many participants held flags declaring "Always Was, Always Will Be Aboriginal Land" and posters bearing slogans to that effect.
The question that occurs at once is this, and it's not as facetious as it sounds: since these people are in effect confessing that they are living on stolen land, shouldn't they getting off that land and give it back to those who they consider its true and perpetual owners?
After all, so many of them expect the Jews of Israel to get off the land they are living on and give it to the "Palestinians".
Aren't the leftists displaying hypocritical double standards by failing to do so?

In Melbourne, Anti-Islam Demo Attacked By Leftist "Anti-Racists" (videos)
Nasty scenes of scuffling in Melbourne today, as hundreds of leftist "anti-racists" poured into the city centre to attack a rally held outside the Victoria State Parliament by the "Reclaim Australia" movement (which alleges, and opposes, the creeping islamisation of Australia) – necessitating the deployment of "400 police" to the area and the use of capsicum spray on many of the leftist counter-protesters.
According to one television news report, referring to the leftists, "some of their number [were] clearly not averse to violence". Another televison news report noted that they seemed "more intent on attacking police".
A police spokesman observed in one of those reports that "From a policing point of view, we can't see the difference between the two sides".

He's due in Perth, Western Australia, next year, in order to launch a new political party, expected to be called the Australian Liberty Alliance.
Says Wilders:
"Like you, good people in Europe, America and Canada have had enough of politicians who don't share our values and foolishly declare that all cultures are equal and who lack courage to speak the truth and say that Islam is the biggest threat to freedom today.
It may seem like a big task to turn around. But the winds are changing .You too will soon have the opportunity to turn the tide in Australia."It's reported that Debbie Robinson, President of the Q Society, will stand as a candidate for the new party at the next federal election, which must take take place before September 2016.
Observes Q Society spokesman Andrew Horwood:
"We can see what's happening with Islam around the world and we would like to initially have a 10-year halt in Islamic immigration until Australia can get a handle on how to deal with the issue of Islam or there is a bit of a reformation with the Islamic faith and it can deal with living in the 21st Century."Not surprisingly, politicians across the political divide have condemned the mooted Australian Liberty Alliance.

Malaysian Islamic NGO Propagandises For "Palestine" in Australia (videos)
An Islamic NGO in Malaysia, Ikatan Muslimin Malaysia (ISMA) was established in 1997 under the name Ikatan Siswazah Muslim Malaysia, altered to the present one in 2005. With the increased Malaysian presence in Australasia, spearheaded by students taking courses at tertiary level institutions in Australia and New Zealand, ISMA has spread to the Lucky Country and its neighbour across the Tasman. Several very recent videos online testify to the fact that its activities comprise overt solidarity with the Palestinian cause, and show that it is campaigning vigorously to that end among Australasian-based Malaysian youth. Here are two examples, with English captions, suggesting that it's not only Malaysians in Australasia for whom the propaganda is intended:
