BDSers In Adelaide (video)

Another video from Australia's "City of Churches" showing largely green-clad BDSers outside the Myer Centre, protesting Seacret cosmetics as they've done for the past year.  They've handed out 25,000 leaflets during that time (I hope the paper's recycled, befitting Greens), though if this video is typical, many members of the public seem to be giving their propaganda a wide berth. The bloke who talks to camera might seem more reasonable than many - he mentions a Two-State Solution despite the fact that the "From The River To The Sea" chant that characterises the BDS movement symbolises the eradication of Israel - but in his itemising of Israeli products to boycott, I hope he has taken the following into consideration (we wouldn't want those BDSers to use any Israeli products in -er - ignorance, now, would we?!):

  1. You can be certain that the guy who talks to camera is no more reasonable than the rest, Daphne. His idea of "two states" would disgust you if you could pin him down long enough to admit what he had in mind. Intellectual courage is not a virtue these people have in abundance in my experience.

You may know that Adelaide has a reputation as the anti-Israel and antisemitic crank capital of Australia. Many of the worst are from there. This campaign is no surprise. I was wondering what they were doing in Adelaide.

There is no way they would have let the mere absence of a Max Brenner deter them from getting in on the fun. They would have found something to pick on no matter what.

  2. Adelaide's emergence is interesting sociologically, geoffff. I'd forgotten for a moment that a certain Holocausr Denier comes from there.
