"To Jerusalem We Go, Martyrs in the Millions"

Thus chant two million protesters in Tahrir Square...

And the BBC insists there's  been no anti-Israel rhetoric among the Egyptian protesters.
Jeremy Bowen better eat his words.

  1. Bowen should do more than eat his words, he should eat humble pie and then resign - having a ME editor who doesn't know Arabic is plain stupid.

  2. Egypt is a profoundly anti-semitic society. Qaradawi, the spiritual head of Al-Azhar university in Cairo, is on record as praising the Holocaust and bemoaning the fact that the Nazis did not finish the job. He is probably the most respected man in Egypt at present.
    Here he is justifying genocide.

  4. shomer, sorry I overlooked your comment in so far as a reply is concerned - I agree wholeheartedly. He is a terrible choice as editor, not only because of his ignorance of the languages of the region but because he has had such a long and documented history of bias against Israel.

  5. It’s happening right now! “Martyrs in the Ones and Twos” doesn’t quite have the same ring to it, though. Perhaps “Martyrs in the Dozens” would be a more realistic goal for next year?
