Eretz Israel is our unforgettable historic homeland...The Jews who will it shall achieve their State...And whatever we attempt there for our own benefit will redound mightily and beneficially to the good of all mankind. (Theodor Herzl, DerJudenstaat, 1896)

We offer peace and amity to all the neighbouring states and their peoples, and invite them to cooperate with the independent Jewish nation for the common good of all. The State of Israel is ready to contribute its full share to the peaceful progress and development of the Middle East.
(From Proclamation of the State of Israel, 5 Iyar 5708; 14 May 1948)

With a liberal democratic political system operating under the rule of law, a flourishing market economy producing technological innovation to the benefit of the wider world, and a population as educated and cultured as anywhere in Europe or North America, Israel is a normal Western country with a right to be treated as such in the community of nations.... For the global jihad, Israel may be the first objective. But it will not be the last. (Friends of Israel Initiative)

"We Are Afraid ... the Left May Abandon Us...The Muslim Community ... is Not Allowed to Speak"

Image credit: CultureWatch; see article HERE
The issue of whether same sex marriage should be legalised in Australia is a hot issue in Australia at the moment, with the ABC (which habitually guns for the Catholic Church) making little secret via subtle and not-so-subtle propaganda of where its sympathies lie.

The Bible isn't meant to be taken literally, one of the other propaganda items scolds, reminding us of patriarchal attitudes and the practice of polygamy in the time of the Hebrew prophets (but strangely silent about the literal interpretation of ... (yes, you've guessed it!) and the patriarchal attitudes and practice of polygamy in ... (yes, you've guessed it again!)
"With few exceptions, including a statement from the National Imams Council, almost all of the talk of religious freedom and opposition to the bill on the grounds of faith has come from Christian leaders, particularly from the Anglican and Catholic Churches,"
the BBC's Aussie counterpart told us last week.
"But now one Muslim leader has offered an explanation." [Emphasis added, here and below.]
Watch the respectful silence and the sombre nods of the panellists on the ABC's program "The Drum" last week as that Muslim leader, Ali Kadri, spokesman for the Islamic Council of Queensland and the Australian Federation of Islamic Councils, offers that explanation:
"Unfortunately, in the current climate, the right and conservative side has attacked Muslims as terrorists and extremists, and naturally the left side has been allies in defending us for a long period of time.
We are afraid if we come out with our opinion then the left may abandon us for going against their view and we can't be friendly with the conservatives because they have been bashing us for 15, 20 years every chance they get … and that includes some Christian sects as well...
A lot of [the]Muslim community are concerned that religious rights will be trampled in Islamic schools [and that they] will have to follow a national curriculum that will teach things that go against the fundamentals of their religion, so they are concerned about it...
The Muslim community is not speaking because the climate which is created in this country, we are not allowed to speak. We speak up and are called a terrorist, unpatriotic and all those slurs.
So we are missing out on having our say in this debate and that's the wrong thing."
Contrast the respect accorded the conservative Islamic viewpoint with the derision and hectoring the ABC regularly metes out to conservative Christians who cannot in all conscience vote the way the ABC wants. Here's one of the latest examples, poking fun at, inter alia, Australian Christian Lobby head Lyle Shelton.

Bibi: "Why do the Palestinians Consistently Choose to Honour Mass Murderers?"

You don't have to know a word of Hebrew to appreciate how charismatic and spellbinding a communicator Bibi Netanyahu is, here opening the Israeli school year (with Education Minister Naftali Bennett in tow):

Bibi in characteristic fine form:
"Children should be taught to love and respect, not to hate and kill ...  Why do the Palestinians consistently choose to honour mass murderers?"

David Singer: United Nations and Trump should heed 1989 Balfour Declaration

Here's the latest article by Sydney lawyer and international affairs analyst David Singer.

He writes:

A lot of bloodshed, pain and suffering sustained by both Jews and Arabs over the last 28 years could have been avoided had the United Nations heeded the 1989 Balfour Declaration presented by the 4th Lord Balfour at the 4th international conference of the Jordan is Palestine Committee held in Jerusalem in November 1989.

The 1989 Declaration stated:
“The world should be fully aware of what was British Palestine; the misleading propaganda issued from oil-wealthy Arab states must be countered; Palestine has already been divided into two countries – Jewish Israel and Arab Jordan; the present governments of Israel and Jordan should be fully supported and upheld; and a third state as suggested by the PLO would upset the political and economic situation in the whole area”
The demand by the PLO to establish that third state – in addition to Jordan and Israel – in the territory comprised in the League of Nations Mandate for Palestine – remains unrealised in 2017.

President Trump at this point of time still seems wedded to this proposed three state solution  – eventually formulated by President Bush in his 2003 Roadmap – and endorsed by the United Nations, the European Union and Russia.

The Bush Roadmap was also accepted unconditionally by the PLO and with 14 reservations by Israel. Bush – overwhelmingly supported by the Congress – made the following written commitment to Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon on 14 April 2004 to secure Israel’s disengagement from the Gaza Strip and four settlements in the West Bank:
“… the United States remains committed to my vision and to its implementation as described in the roadmap. The United States will do its utmost to prevent any attempt by anyone to impose any other plan. Under the roadmap, Palestinians must undertake an immediate cessation of armed activity and all acts of violence against Israelis anywhere, and all official Palestinian institutions must end incitement against Israel. The Palestinian leadership must act decisively against terror, including sustained, targeted, and effective operations to stop terrorism and dismantle terrorist capabilities and infrastructure. Palestinians must undertake a comprehensive and fundamental political reform that includes a strong parliamentary democracy and an empowered prime minister.”
The PLO has failed over the last 13 years to comply with these obligations.

Yet Trump still apparently appears willing to allow PLO Chief Mahmoud Abbas to stride on the world stage as he simultaneously refuses to unconditionally return to negotiations with Israel on the Bush Roadmap – stalled since April 2014.

However, Amnesty International’s latest report presents an appalling overview of life under the PLO which could herald a rapid Trump-about face:
“The Palestinian authorities in the West Bank and the Hamas de facto administration in the Gaza Strip both continued to restrict freedom of expression, including by arresting and detaining critics and political opponents. They also restricted the right to peaceful assembly and used excessive force to disperse some protests. Torture and other ill-treatment of detainees remained rife in both Gaza and the West Bank. Unfair trials of civilians before military courts continued in Gaza; detainees were held without charge or trial in the West Bank. Women and girls faced discrimination and violence. Courts in Gaza continued to hand down death sentences and Hamas carried out executions; no death sentences were imposed or executions carried out in the West Bank.”
Elections – the first since 2007 – are urgently needed to test whether the PLO should continue to dominate the lives of the West Bank Arab population and to prevent all hell breaking loose as the negotiating void continues.

The 1989 Balfour Declaration beckons if the above measures do not break the current stalemate.

Will He or Won't He Be Going to Britain?

Palestinian Authority Mufti Ekrima Sa'id Sabri has form in the antisemitic stakes.
'In a 1999 interview regarding the political situation on the Temple Mount, Sabri stated, "If the Jews want peace, they will stay away from Al Aksa. This is a decree from God. The Haram al-Sharif belongs to the Muslim. But we know the Jew is planning on destroying the Haram. The Jew will get the Christian to do his work for him. This is the way of the Jews. This is the way Satan manifests himself. The majority of the Jews want to destroy the mosque. They are preparing this as we speak."
In a 2000 interview with the Italian newspaper la Repubblica, Sabri responded to a question about the Holocaust by stating, "Six million Jews dead? No way, they were much fewer. Let’s stop with this fairytale exploited by Israel to capture international solidarity. It is not my fault if Hitler hated Jews, indeed they were hated a little everywhere. Instead, it is necessary to denounce the unjust occupation endured by my people. Tomorrow I will ask John Paul II... to support our cause."
On February 20, 2005, Sabri appeared on Saudi Arabian Al Majd TV to comment on the assassination of Rafik Hariri, the former Lebanese Prime Minister. Sabri stated, "Anyone who studies The Protocols of the Elders of Zion and specifically the Talmud will discover that one of the goals of these Protocols is to cause confusion in the world and to undermine security throughout the world."' [Emphasis added, here and below]
Here he is on Voice of Palestine Radio (Fatah) a couple of weeks before 9/11 asking Allah to protect the Al-Aqsa Mosque and to destroy Israel, America and Britain.
Inveighs he:
"Allah, destroy the U.S., its helpers and its agents. Allah, destroy Britain, its helpers and its agents. Allah, prepare those who will unite the Muslims and march in the steps of Saladin. Allah, we ask you for forgiveness before death, and mercy and forgiveness after death. Allah, grant victory to Islam and the Muslims…"

It's reported he'll be in the UK from the 11th to the 15th of this month as part of a delegation organised by Pro-Palestinian group EuroPal

To quote blogger Vlad Tepes:
"(Meanwhile, Pamela Geller, Robert Spencer, and of all people, Michael Savage, have been banned from entering the UK for reporting that many Muslims like this one, say exactly what they say)"
Yet it seems he has yet to apply for a visa.  And a petition is afoot to ensure that he is not granted one.
'... Joan Ryan MP, Labour Friends of Israel chair, said she was horrified Sabri was attempting to visit parliament “given his reported views on the holocaust, terrorism and the Jewish people."
She added: “If these reports are true, he should not be allowed into the UK, let alone into Parliament.'  (Report here)
In the meantime. elsewhere in Europe:

To quote the uploader:
'A group of protesters demonstrated against the recent desecration of the International Brigades memorial at the Fuencarral cemetery in Madrid on Saturday, condemning the Anti-Semitic graffiti Nazi symbols found on the monuments. SOT, Paco Arnaure, Political activist (Spanish): "We are here at the Fuencarral Cemetery because there has been an attack by fascist groups on the memorials for the international volunteers who fought for the Spanish Republic, the International Brigades and also the Soviet volunteers, who have their own monument here as well." SOT, Javier Ruiz, Political activist (Spanish): "These people came here to defend what we today know as democratic values, and they fought in a war –and even died in it – to defend these values." SOT, Roman, Political activist (Spanish): "Fascists and nationalists are getting back on their feet in Europe, and I think this is very dangerous for Europe. I can personally say this is happening in Ukraine, where nationalist battalions, people with fascist ideologies, are killing their own people. And Europe is supporting that. So sometimes I ask myself why Europe is nurturing this fascism." '

Three Faces of Eid (videos)

Arrogant British prime minister Theresa May lavishly praises the "compassion" evinced  by Muslims at Eid al-Adha ("Feast of the Sacrifice"), and shows that she could do with a lesson or three from Anglican theologian and scholar of Islam Dr Mark Durie regarding what he has described as "The Abrahamic Fallacy ... the belief that Abraham is a figure of unity for Islam, Christianity and Judaism".

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFQslqJZ4qQ

Durie has warned, inter alia:
'The phrase “Abrahamic Religions” has become very popular as a cover-term for these three faiths. It is particularly popular among Jewish and Christian progressives on the one hand, and Muslim apologists on the other. The term implies a kind of unity or brotherhood across the three faiths.
More broadly, the term “Abrahamic religions” has become the standard term, both in comparative religions and popular parlance, to refer to the three monotheistic religions of Judaism, Christianity and Islam, in contrast, for example, to Indian religions and East Asian religions.
In essence the claim embodied by the expression is that Abraham is “shared” as a point of common origin by all three monotheistic religions, and naming him as their shared identity is meant to signal that these three faiths are linked together in some kind of theological continuity.... To be sure, Christianity and Judaism do have the Abraham of Genesis in common. This is the Abraham of covenant and promise, the “father of many,” and specifically “father” or “patriarch” of Israel. The Abraham of the Bible is a symbol of God’s benevolence to the nations....
From the Quran’s perspective, Abraham was the prototypical Muslim. He is used by Muhammad in the Quran as a stick to beat over the heads of Christians and Jews. This arises for example in the context of Muhammad’s disputes with the Jews of Medina (specifically in this Sura: 4:44-57, 156-162). Muhammad is in effect saying, “You quote the name Abraham to me, but Abraham was a Muslim, one of a long line of prophets. If you accept Abraham, you must accept me.”....
Not only Abraham, but Moses and Jesus were Muslim prophets according to the Quran. So Islam is the true heritage of Jews and Christians. Jews and Christians who convert to Islam are actually reverting to the faith of the patriarchs, returning to the one true religion.
Now the Muslims want to remind their Jews and Christian brothers and sisters of their original sin....
Today the phrase “Abrahamic religion” has become a touchstone of interfaith dialogue and unity between Islam, Christianity and Judaism. But ironically this phrase is another rendering of the “religion of Abraham” of the Quran: the phrase refers to Abraham as a Muslim. In reality Abraham is an intensely divisive figure between Jews, Christians and Muslims. For many Christians he is the apostle of salvation by faith alone, in opposition to Torah-observance. For Jews he is the Torah-observant father of the Jewish nation, and a reminder of God’s irrevocable covenant with the Jews. For Muslims he is the prototypical Muslim prophet, a prominent forerunner and validator of Muhammad’s claim and the ground of Muslim claims that Islam both predates and supersedes the Biblical faiths....'
In another nauseating example of "brown-nosing" for the sake of votes, Liberal Democrat leader Vince Cable also delivers an Eid al-Adha message, in which he asserts (pass the sick bucket, please!) that the values of Islam have much in common with Liberal Democrat values and denounces "Islamophobia".

Meanwhile, this Eid al-Adha, the openly gay British Muslim "drag queen" Asifa Lahore, appalled at the wholesale slaughter of animals that marks the festival, makes the case for a vegan Eid:

All Theresa May's dhimmi-like gushes cannot obscure the fact that for animals Eid is anything but compassionate.

If anyone wishes to have proof of this, and their stomachs are strong enough, they have only to look at the several videos of "qurbani"( including in Canada) on Vlad Tepes's blog on this thread to see sadism and barbarity in action.

A Forlorn and Fuming Footy Fan (video)

Here's the guy who gives a whole new meaning to the term "football fanatic", before the game at Watford last Saturday with the usual Israel-demonising blarney and accompanying banners and leaflets.

Crowds are noticeably absent ("Maintenance work on the train network in preparation for Crossrail probably kept a lot of supporters away", explains video-maker Alex Seymour/Seymour Alexander in  uploading the footage to YouTube.)

The campaign to expel Israel from FIFA has hit a snag, and the star of the video forlornly fumes against UEFA.
