    Picking up on the comments of the Ambassador led me to pen a somewhat pessimistic view of the state of the USA and how it might impact on Israel. I was reminded of 1973 and of Nixon's defence of Israel even during the Watergate scandal. I am left wondering if we can reasonably expect such presence of mind and will from Obama?
