Here's Ja'far Abd Al-Salam, secretary-general of the Islamic Universities Association, explaining on Gaza (Hamas) Al-Aqsa TV last month why martyrdom is "the most lofty form of Jihad".
If he really believes that "life" is worthless, why, at his apparently fairly advanced chronological age, is he still alive? Does this make him a hypocrite?
It certainly makes him anti-Zionist and, possibly, antisemitic: notice the slip towards the end: "Maybe you have noticed that the thing that frightens the Jews, or Zionists...' There it goes again, that elision between Jews and Zionists. As it happens, most Jews (in and out of Israel) are Zionists. And he doesn't apologise for the "slip".
