  4. A telling exchange from the Today Tonight show about the riots.
Rebecca Kay: “No offence Joe, [but] you have restrictions against your religion, you can’t say anything bad about Jewish people. We don’t have them kind of protections.”
    Joe Hildebrand: “I’m not Jewish.”
Kay: “Oh, aren’t you? Are you sure?”
    Hildebrand: “I’m pretty sure.”

    My impressions.
Pappe was given an almost endless free kick by Jones, there was no mention of his outright fraudulent work.
Irving Wallach was much better than I expected, throwing in the Nazi Mufti of Jerusalem was brilliant. The only flat point was his Aboriginal anecdote, not helped by Clover Moore’s pathetic answer egged on by Jones. He would have been better of referring to the criteria for native title “claimants must establish there has been an acknowledgment and observance of laws and customs on a substantially uninterrupted basis”.
    Sheridan was great.
Holding the panel on Rosh Hashanah was also mentioned.
