CiFWatch Turns NIFWatch

As most readers will be aware, the Comment is Free section of the execrable, Israel-demonising Guardian newspaper has long been monitored by CiFWatch, in view of the outrageous bias, mendacity, and even antisemitism that characterises Comment is Free's all-too-frequent emphasis on (perhaps I should say "obsession with") presenting Israel in a bad light.

But the team at CiFWatch do not restrict their focus exclusively to the Guardian, as one of their latest blogs demonstrates.

Gilad Shalit remembered on a London taxi 

According to CiFWatch a representative of the New Israel Fund who has in the past made unfortunate hair-raising comments about Israel (and apparently dismisses warnings of a "global jihad" as based on prejudice againt Islam) has now made insensitive comments regarding the kidnapped IDF soldier Gilad Shalit.  For details see

Incidentally, the New Israel Fund - an organisation that's been long in the sights of the staunchly pro-Israel NGO Monitor  http://www.ngo-monitor.org/article/new_israel_fund  - happens to be rather dear to the heart of Britain's Jewish Chronicle (a newspaper which to the dismay and disgust of many in the Anglo-Jewish community allows anti-Israel propagandists to post blogs on its website, by the way).

I wonder what "the JC" will make of this latest revelation.
