Down Under, The Gentleman From Hizb ut-Tahrir Meets The Press (video)

The Islamic extremist organisation Hizb ut-Tahrir, which aims to turn its host nations into Islamic states in preparation for its ultimate objective of a worldwide Caliphate obeisant to sharia law, is banned in most Middle Eastern countries but operates in about 40 countries including Australia.  Although it does not represent the majority of Australia's Muslims, it is increasing in visibility Down Under, and is enjoying a spate of influence in nearby Indonesia.

Not long ago I posted a hair-raising video showing some of its Sydney adherents demonstrating against Israel.

At the weekend, Hizb ut-Tahrir held a  conference in the Sydney suburb of Lidcombe, attended by hundreds (see this trailer).

A Sydney newspaper reports (hat tip: reader Michelle):

'Outside the [main] conference, police were forced to call for reinforcements, including the dog squad, when a group of about a dozen members of the Australian Protectionist Party chanting "no sharia law in Australia" almost came to blows with young men from the Hizb ut-Tahrir event.

Protest organiser and APP NSW chairman Darrin Hodges said: "Hizb ut-Tahrir have been banned in most Islamic countries in the Middle East.
