Mark Regev Regarding Yesterday's Syrian Border Incident (video)
He was absolutely top-class yesterday on the BBC, pointing out what was not reported - that Molotov cocktails were being hurled at Israeli troops, and that Israel and Syria are still officially in a state of war - and here he is on Al-Jazeera:
Sorry, but Mark Regev is too defensive. Always has been. I forget his name but there is an IDF spokesman who speaks in Arabic on al-Jazeera and others - he doesn't stand for any sh*te.
I've been told many times that Israeli spokespeople prefer to be interviewed on Al Jazeera than the BBC. They are not friends but they don't misquote or use media manipulation tricks to misrepresent what is actually said.
The irony is so many Al Jazeera people are ex BBC.

ReplyDelete(It's Maj. Avichay Adraee)
Thanks - I like Regev's unflappable qualities, but that major is becoming legendary.
ReplyDeleteAvital L. and Ben Rutland (IDF) are good too.
Ah, "Skipping Girl" - what a grand Aussie icon that name is; I know that Abbotsford sign so well!

Spot-on, David!
ReplyDeleteAl-Jazeera is certainly fairer than Al Beeb, I've consistently noticed.
