It shows a group of Charedim getting clear of the disturbances in the London borough of Tottenham (where the trouble began) after watching them unfold on their way home from shul.
The footage has been pounced on by antisemites (like the owner of the American voice we hear commenting on the scene), twisting facts to allege that Jews were taking part in the riots. Nothing could be further from the truth, but, sadly, "the world's oldest hatred" needs no excuse.
BNP leader Nick Griffin, whose past statements have included
again showed off his judeophobic credentials by tweeting:"I am well aware that the orthodox opinion is that six million Jews were gassed and cremated and turned into lampshades. Orthodox opinion also once held that the world is flat."
"Riot footage shows it's a joint black/Jewish affair...."Let's reiterate: Jews did not take part in the rioting that occurred in London and certain other English cities over the past five days.
As I mentioned in the penultimate post, among the targets of the thugs who committed robbery, looting, and arson in Tottenham was the Jewish-owned long-established hardware business H. Glickman, which was ransacked and narrowly escaped being burnt out.
A Jewish barber on the same street, 89-year-old Aaron Biber, was also a victim. His shop was looted, and an appeal has been launched to help him "get cutting again". http://www.thejc.com/news/uk-news/53039/appeal-keep-tottenham-barber-aaron-biber-cutting-after-riot-damage

As the London Jewish Chronicle relates of the neighbourhood's Charedim:
'Tottenham's Chasidic residents turned out to watch the weekend's riots on their way home from synagogue, but retreated after warnings from rabbis.
A warning was sent out to the Stamford Hill community via strictly Orthodox security service Shomrim, from Rabbi Efraim Padwa.
He said:
"We have been advised by the local police to warn all members of the community not to be present in any shape or form in the areas surrounding the current riots, as being seen in the vicinity can have a negative effect. May a blessing reach to all those honouring this request."
Witnesses said that no one from the Jewish community was involved in rioting but around 25 mostly young men turned out at the south end of the High Road to watch the chaos after midnight. Groups were also seen watching looting on Tottenham's Broad Lane.
A YouTube video showed some young, strictly Orthodox men handing out challah to passing residents from a cardboard box.
Rabbi Chanoch Kesselman of the Union of Orthodox Hebrew Congregations said as far as he knew, no Jewish businesses or synagogues had been reported damaged.
He said:
"People were staying away, by and large. A few youngsters went to see what was going on, some live not far away and some have businesses in the area. There's been no injuries and most of the youngsters watching were told by the rabbonim to stay away, and then they did."' http://www.thejc.com/news/uk-news/52903/tottenham-jews-life-goes-after-riots
I have just put in a complaint to the TV programme concerned "The O'Reilly Factor"

Sadly, when there's a riot, the best place to be is somewhere else. The alternatives are false accusation; being beaten to death as was Ian Tomlinson or being 'kettled' with all the consequent suffering. Protecting your property and your neighbourhood can become deadly. Alas, riots and the police doth make cowards of us all.
ReplyDeleteShirlee, I don't think the narrator is on Fox - he's a viewer.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Ian.
Whatever Daphne.!! Fox will get it taken down.
ReplyDeleteHopefully.
ReplyDeleteBut the BNP/EDL are your comrades in arms against the Muslims.
ReplyDeleteUgh, the BNP for one seems to have alot of the old Colin Jordan/John Tyndall neo-Nazi madness about it.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't be their comrades in arms even at a pub knees-up!
