Eretz Israel is our unforgettable historic homeland...The Jews who will it shall achieve their State...And whatever we attempt there for our own benefit will redound mightily and beneficially to the good of all mankind. (Theodor Herzl, DerJudenstaat, 1896)

We offer peace and amity to all the neighbouring states and their peoples, and invite them to cooperate with the independent Jewish nation for the common good of all. The State of Israel is ready to contribute its full share to the peaceful progress and development of the Middle East.
(From Proclamation of the State of Israel, 5 Iyar 5708; 14 May 1948)

With a liberal democratic political system operating under the rule of law, a flourishing market economy producing technological innovation to the benefit of the wider world, and a population as educated and cultured as anywhere in Europe or North America, Israel is a normal Western country with a right to be treated as such in the community of nations.... For the global jihad, Israel may be the first objective. But it will not be the last. (Friends of Israel Initiative)

Why Do The Palestinians Want To Divide Jerusalem? (video)

Another one I missed when it debuted (a year ago), consisting of a dialogue between a familiar-looking gentleman and a Palestinian representative:

  1. I decided to research flying horses especially Pegasus. The flying horse is an ancient Moon symbol, according to Robert Graves. Not really surprising given Islam's flag and origins. It is also associated with springs of water which would make it attractive to desert dwellers. However, Pegasus lived at Mt. Helicon, near Corinth, and ended up as a pack-horse for Zeus when Belleperon attempted to fly him to the top of Olympus. Zeus was not pleased and caused a gadfly to sting the horse and throw Bellepheron off. Bellepheron fell into a thorn bush and wandered the earth lame, blind, lonely and accursed until he died.

It would seem that the Arabs have adapted this myth to suggest that they have succeeded where Bellepheron failed. Mohammed has flown to Zion without rebuke. Personally, I'd keep an eye out for gadflies. The ignominious ends of Bellepheron and Pegasus put me in mind of the Tenach's warnings about the fate of those who seek to divide the Land or Jerusalem.

Pride goes before destruction, and a haughty spirit before a fall.

    And watch out for gadflies...

  3. Daphne what has happened to your posts on the site. The lines are too close together, which makes reading a tad difficult

  4. Do you mean my comments, Shirlee? Blogger is playing up and won't let me answer comments without going to a different browser and commenting, then going back in to the Blogger site to accept my own comment for publication.
I don't know what the answer is - Blogger's support system is not the greatest.

  6. I know. This happened as a result of an unsolicited change by Blogger, which resulted in my being able to reply to individual comments, but left me with an unwelcome font - and has now left me with the inability to anseer comments on site!

  7. Not good at all. This video argues nothing about Palestinians, but about Muslims in general, which is not the question. Now Muslims, including Palestinians, definitely try to confound the 2 (Palestinian nationalism & Islam), but anyone pro-Israel, including video makers, should never, ever do that! They must work overtime to keep distinguishing between the 2.

While Islam SHOULD be the question, shamefully, Israel & the international community pretend it's not. So as long as everyone (except the Muslims among themselves) is going to pretend it is about nationalism of Palestinians (as newly redefined), then they MUST (for their advantage) make the arguments on the basis of Palestinian nationalism, and not about Islam.

If that is done here, then the Palestinians will always be exposed on the point of Jerusalem, since they have zero case for it; but as long as pro-Israel people allow them to revert to Islam arguments for Jerusalem, then it becomes an entry point to bring in at least some arguments (which, btw, this vid does not fairly represent), weak though they are.
