Eretz Israel is our unforgettable historic homeland...The Jews who will it shall achieve their State...And whatever we attempt there for our own benefit will redound mightily and beneficially to the good of all mankind. (Theodor Herzl, DerJudenstaat, 1896)

We offer peace and amity to all the neighbouring states and their peoples, and invite them to cooperate with the independent Jewish nation for the common good of all. The State of Israel is ready to contribute its full share to the peaceful progress and development of the Middle East.
(From Proclamation of the State of Israel, 5 Iyar 5708; 14 May 1948)

With a liberal democratic political system operating under the rule of law, a flourishing market economy producing technological innovation to the benefit of the wider world, and a population as educated and cultured as anywhere in Europe or North America, Israel is a normal Western country with a right to be treated as such in the community of nations.... For the global jihad, Israel may be the first objective. But it will not be the last. (Friends of Israel Initiative)

"Salutations To ... Our Friends In The London BDS Movement": Australian "Boycott Apartheid Israel" Mob Cheered By Ahava Store's Closure (video)

I'll say one thing for this latest video uploaded by Australian Friends of Palestine of green-shirted BDS activists in Adelaide, urging a boycott of "Apartheid Israel" in general and of Seacret Cosmetics at the city's Myer Centre in particular - it's free of the ear-splitting cacophony and Israel-vilifying lyrics which characterise so many videos made by anti-Israel activists.

The picket of the Myer Centre by opponents of Seacret Cosmetics is a regular event, just as the picket of the Ahava Store in London's Covent Garden was.

At the close of the video tribute is paid to a bloke called Seymour Alexander and "our friends in the London BDS Movement".  Seymour Alexander is obviously the Alex Seymour who was a stalwart of the anti-Ahava demos in London, which he filmed, and who leaves encouraging messages below the Adelaide anti-Seacret group's videos on YouTube.

Also at the close of this video is the reminder that the anti-Ahava campaign in London took two years before it could claim victory.  Let's hope that Seacret shows more tenacity than the beleaguered London Ahava store, and that this lot won't have more to gloat over and crow about.

  1. There's a big difference in location between Adelaide and Covent Garden.

These 'people' are in the Mall, they are not permitted in the shopping centre. What gets me though is there is no opposition in Adelaide as the Jewish Community is tiny, around 900.

  2. Glad to hear they're not allowed in the Centre, Shirlee.

  3. The problem is an estimated 250,000 thousands would have passed through the Mall over the last 58 weeks. Apparently, 27,000 of them took the flyer and read it. Not sure what we can do about that!!

  4. Sorry, Shirl in Oz, you obviously are not aware of the facts. The Seacret protesters have been hounded by Zionist counter-protesters for months. Daphne, you might be interested to read an article published in Mondoweiss which details the level of harassment meted out by a very loud, abusive Zionist "opposition".

Judging by your blog and the knowledge that you have a doctorate I think you will be appalled by the abusive Zionists we have encountered in the Mall.

  5. I shall look at mondoweiss later, then, gadfly, but I beleve I shall need alot of disinfectant after visiting his site...

  6. I'm with you 500% on that last comment Daphne

    Gadfly

You are exaggerating beyond belief. It's laughable. Maybe instead of lies you should do some reading on the issue and learn the truth.

I have contacts in Adelaide and have a totally different take on your 'activities'

Quoting Mondoweiss and the biased article doesn't give you much credibility.

The BDS in this country is as good as dead, there are a few fanatical fringe elements left in the cities with very small populations, with little or no opposition. That’s it mate…KAPUT.
I am heavily involved in matters BDS and the lies and inaccuracies produced by the BDS groups is quite funny.

Why don’t you put your energy into where it is needed.?

    Try Syria for starters.

  7. Anonymous.....I wouldn't take too much notice of the figures produced by any BDS groups. I have seen analysis of the their videos and their claims...they are way off the mark.

  8. Shirl in Oz, thank you for comments. So you are "heavily involved in matters BDS" I don't suppose you'd like to expand on that comment.
You have friends in Adelaide. That's nice. Perhaps you'd like to visit them and meet our Zionist "street preachers". You can see them wave Israeli flags and tell all and sundry that they are going to burn in hell.
The tone of your comments to me is rather rude and I don't understand why you think you have the right to tell someone else where they should be putting their energies.

  9. Shirl in OZ .. I hope you are right. But 58 weeks is a long time and they are still coming. I watched them in the Mall and I found a lot of people actually take the flyers and read them. Also few stop and ask questions. It seems no one is believing our story anymore. I suspect it must be the settlements that people are up in arms about. If they just leave Israel alone for ten more years those settlers would not have left any hill un-occupied. The problem is more and more people using the word apartheid to describe the situation and I think we may need to do something about it. Short of repeating 1948 we may need to give them citizenship I'm afraid. That will please those bloody protesters for sure!!

What on earth are you talking about "we may need to give them citizenship"?

If they are Israeli Arabs, they are entitled to citizenship, no one stops them.

A few years back, when it looked as if finally the Palestinian Arabs were going to talk peace - there was a huge rush to take Israeli citizenship . The reason being was, the Israeli Arabs who hadn’t taken citizenship, were going to be under the jurisdiction of the PA and they didn’t want that. Israel had far more to offer.

    Freedom of speech
    Freedom of religion
    Freedom of the press
    Good health and education system
Good rate of employment and more…much. Much more.

The truth always wins. Let them come no one is listening, their numbers are not growing.

You know, if you are 'fair dinkum' that apartheid doesn’t come into it. There is no apartheid in Israel.

All Israelis work together, play together, children go to school together, the Chief Justice of Israel is an Arab. Miss Israel is an Arab.

Does that sound like apartheid to you?

    No of course it doesn’t.

Israel's 20% Arab minority, holds 10% of seats in the Knesset.
In Australia, the Aboriginal population is approx 2.5% and there are NO Aboriginal members of Federal Parliament.
In NSW, with 2.2% Aboriginal population, there is 1 Aborginal MP, which makes 1.3% as a percentage.

So Australia has a WORSE record than Israel and NSW has about the SAME.

For comparison, in the US the 13% African-American minority has only 8% representation nationally. Also not great.
But India, with a Muslim minority of 13.4%, has only 5% representation. Much worse than Israel.

  11. There are no settlements as such on the West Bank, that is purely a term used by the West. Jerusalem and the land around it is Israel. That's our biblical heartland

Where can they go, that's their choice.

Land for peace produced the Israel-Egypt peace of 1979 and the Israel-Jordan peace of 1994. Israel has offered the Palestinians land for peace three times since. And been refused every time.

Why? For exactly the same reason Abbas went to the United Nations last week: to get land without peace. A State with no recognition of a Jewish state. Statehood without negotiations. An independent Palestine in a continued state of war with Israel.

Israel gave up land without peace in south Lebanon in 2000, in return, they received war in 2006. There are now 50,000 Hezbollah missiles aimed at Israel. In 2005, Israel gave up land without peace in Gaza, and again was rewarded with war — and constant rocket attack from an openly genocidal Palestinian mini-state.

They have been offered a state time and time again and they refused. They want the end of Israel.

    http://www.smh.com.au/world/it-was-our-mistake-says-palestinian-chief-20111029-1mpc9.html

President Mahmoud Abbas has expressed regret, in a frank interview, for the lost opportunity that was the 1947 United Nations plan to partition Palestine, writes Amy Teibel in Jerusalem.

The Palestinian President, in a remarkable assessment delivered on Israeli TV, says the Arab world erred in rejecting the United Nations' 1947 plan to partition Palestine into a Palestinian and a Jewish state.

The Palestinian and Arab refusal to accept a UN plan to partition the then British-controlled mandate of Palestine sparked widespread fighting then Arab military intervention after Israel declared independence the following year. The Arabs lost the war.

''It was our mistake. It was an Arab mistake as a whole,''

He confirmed Mr Olmert's account that the Israeli leader was prepared to withdraw from 93.5 per cent of the West Bank. The Palestinians, Abbas added, responded by offering to let Israel retain 1.9 per cent of the West Bank.

  12. Thanks Daphne!

I get so angry that people just believe garbage they are fed, without checking the facts.

I am friendly with a few people, who knew nothing at all about the situation and who, on their own, did research into it and came up with the truth.

  13. We as Jews cannot occupy another people indefinitely nor we should ask our soldiers to commit more massacres against them. I'm worried what history will record about Jews and Israel. I think we should simply give them citizenship and treat them as equals. After all they are human beings like us and we are living in the West with all sort of people as equals.
You said Arabs in Israel have all these privileges their standard of living is better than the Jews (unbelievable to be honest how much rights they have). Israel also needs cheap labor and instead of importing workers from Thailand and the Philippines we can educate them and use them. Many of them can speak the language and can easily integrate. I think that will solve all the problems. You may think I'm naive but really I cannot see any way out other than more bloodshed and wars. And what did war achieve? Death and destruction. How many people need to die before there is a solution one asks?
Hope you agree Shirl that peace is better than war, equal rights is better than apartheid system and building bridges is better than building walls and settlements.

  14. Anonymous.. I don't think you are fair dinkum . Have you read anything I have written?

    I don't think so.

    What don't you get?

    They don't want peace

Read the Hamas, Hezbollah and Fatah Charters.

“Israel will exist and will continue to exist until Islam will obliterate it, just as it obliterated others before it"”

“Our struggle against the Jews is very great and very serious. It needs all sincere efforts. It is a step that inevitably should be followed by other steps. The Movement is but one squadron that should be supported by more and more squadrons from this vast Arab and Islamic world, until the enemy is vanquished and Allah's victory is realised.. “

"The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews."

“There is no solution for the Palestinian question except through Jihad.”

  15. Shirl in Oz. Your posts are so interesting on many levels. Firstly you query if Anonymous is "fair dinkum?" Australians don't use that term any more. I would pose the same question to you.
Are you genuine? Secondly everything you write about Palestine is full of omissions. There are so many words missing - Gaza, phosphorus bombs, child imprisonment and torture, checkpoints, settlements etc.

  17. Give me a break Gadfly.where are you from 'cuckoo land'....Australians don't use the term "fair dinkum" any more.?

    You're kidding.

Do some reading darling. Don't take notice of the garbage you've been fed. Go the the library and read genuine history books

The issue is that in historical Palestine there are as many Jews as there Arabs.
You keep avoiding the real issues and going on a tangent about Hamas and Hezbollah.
    Please answer this simple question:
What do we do with 7 million palestinians who are under our control?

  19. There should be a one-state solution, with everyone having the same rights, everyone allowed to live where they like, return to their original home is they want to, and a big emphasis on reconciliation. The wall must come down.

  20. Israel is not racist. It is home to Jews of diverse backgrounds, as well as to Arabs and Vietnamese refugees ("boat people" of the 1970s). There are numerous Islamic states in the world, and if a state of Palestine were to be introduced as you envisage, replacing Israel proper and the surrounding territories, the Jews would lose all autonomy very quickly.
