Eretz Israel is our unforgettable historic homeland...The Jews who will it shall achieve their State...And whatever we attempt there for our own benefit will redound mightily and beneficially to the good of all mankind. (Theodor Herzl, DerJudenstaat, 1896)

We offer peace and amity to all the neighbouring states and their peoples, and invite them to cooperate with the independent Jewish nation for the common good of all. The State of Israel is ready to contribute its full share to the peaceful progress and development of the Middle East.
(From Proclamation of the State of Israel, 5 Iyar 5708; 14 May 1948)

With a liberal democratic political system operating under the rule of law, a flourishing market economy producing technological innovation to the benefit of the wider world, and a population as educated and cultured as anywhere in Europe or North America, Israel is a normal Western country with a right to be treated as such in the community of nations.... For the global jihad, Israel may be the first objective. But it will not be the last. (Friends of Israel Initiative)

Oh Bother!

Blogger has been experiencing technical problems for most of today and much of yesterday.  Normal service has only just been restored, but as of the time of writing this two posts I made yesterday, removed by Blogger along with other bloggers' posts during the same time period, have not been restored.  [Update: both are now]

Anyway, during this "outage" I found the following trenchant article that I heartily recommend.

It's by the legendary Elder of Ziyon (who's also been forced to cool his heels today, along with mere apprentice elders like yours truly) - about the dire consequences that are likely to follow EU recognition of a Palestinian State in September:

And there's a piece from Andrew Bolt, a stalwart pro-Israel columnist in Australia, rebuking the Australian Government for its largesse to the PA despite the Fatah-Hamas Accord (hat tip: Rita and Shirlee):

  1. Cooling my heels? Actually, I made an entirely new blog just so I could post (and save my posts that Blogger deleted.) http://elderofziyon.tumblr.com/

But having the adjectives "legendary" and "trenchant" associated with me makes it all worthwhile :)

Sorry to have taken such liberties, sirrah!
Guess our "outage" proves that Zionists don't rule the world ;~]
