Eretz Israel is our unforgettable historic homeland...The Jews who will it shall achieve their State...And whatever we attempt there for our own benefit will redound mightily and beneficially to the good of all mankind. (Theodor Herzl, DerJudenstaat, 1896)

We offer peace and amity to all the neighbouring states and their peoples, and invite them to cooperate with the independent Jewish nation for the common good of all. The State of Israel is ready to contribute its full share to the peaceful progress and development of the Middle East.
(From Proclamation of the State of Israel, 5 Iyar 5708; 14 May 1948)

With a liberal democratic political system operating under the rule of law, a flourishing market economy producing technological innovation to the benefit of the wider world, and a population as educated and cultured as anywhere in Europe or North America, Israel is a normal Western country with a right to be treated as such in the community of nations.... For the global jihad, Israel may be the first objective. But it will not be the last. (Friends of Israel Initiative)

Marvellous Melanie on the "Delusional Perspective" through which Israel is viewed in the UK

As a commentator on the current stupor afflicting the West, in its denial of the full extent of the jihadist threat and its appeasement of those who would destroy first Israel and then the rest of the free world,  Melanie Phillips has few equals.

Interviewed recently on Israeli TV ( http://www.iba.org.il/olam  hat tip: Avraham Reiss) she spoke of the delusional attitude in the UK regarding Israel, a situation that she describes as "pathological", with public opinion swayed by an intelligentsia that gets its information largely from outlets such as Ha'aretz and is "impervious to reason, impervious to evidence, impervious to facts". She also speaks of the media's failure to report accurately about the Middle East and stresses that for this state of affairs Israel shoulders some of the blame, turning itself into a victim, with its hasbara "a joke" and even members of its academia ignorant of the history of their own country and feeding students the lie that Israel was "born in sin".  The Islamists have "colonised the battleground of the mind" and as a result truth has been inverted, with Israel transformed from "victim into victimiser". And she warns of the true goal of Israel's Islamist enemies – to have a Middle East free of the Jewish State altogether.

  1. Incidentally, I for one can relate to Ms Phillips' last point, in which she explains to the interviewer that those who do appreciate the reality of the situation, as she does, are apt to be punished if they speak out - they are "vilified", they risk losing their jobs, and even losing their friends.
Once bitten, twice shy. Hence the alias.

  2. To loose your job for for being Jewish and showing sympathy for Israel, this is 30's Germany.
And as for losing friends, they obviously never were and can go **** themselves.
I once worked for a multi-national Jap Co. and attending a leaving do for one of the senior directors, he went around the table saying a few words about each person, when he came to me all he could remember was ahh Steve a Jew. But you don't have crooked nose like others blah blah blah.( protocols of zion still big seller in Japan ) I responded saying **** off back to Japan you slant eyed yellow ****. He didn't have the guts to take it out to the car park.
Anyway to cut a long story short I was made redundant 6 months later, but I can sleep at night albeit skint.

  3. Hi, Steve!
It's remarkable how many people who are in a position to hire and fire (in my little universe) hold views the antithesis of mine! Skint too, but at least it's good for the waistline ;~]

  4. I try to post, but seem to be unable to do so, except as "anonymous" (which I dont like). My name is Rita:

Melanie Phillips is not only one of my heroes, (what a gutsy, intelligent, clearsighted woman), but she is also, in my opinion, one of the most powerfull political writers at the moment. I dont usually finish 500 page books in (nearly) one go, "The World Upside Down" was THE difference. It should be put on the syllabus of every school and learning institution in the world, ... yes I'm dreaming.

*edit* whoops, it worked - I dont kno how:)

  6. Moral and ethical bankruptcy

Americans are finding a grotesque echo in the moral – ethical bankruptcy and worse of a substantial sector of American society.

The “moral depravity” of “the Arabs” who kill innocent civilians. It is more than moral depravity. It is a culture that teaches, educates and breeds hate toward other societies that are not like them as they say “infidels”.

There is no way this situation should be handled with kid gloves – when a poison strikes your body, you remove it and destroy it completely, leaving no trace of such poison.

History has shown that these types of atrocities and acts of barbarism have increased in the past half a century and getting worse by the day.

With today’s advancement in technology and telecommunications, the world has shrunk, events on the other side of the world affect everybody (like the Japanese Nuclear reactor fallout etc.) it affects our health our economy, brings fear and uncertainty to our lives.

The financial crisis we are facing today is the price we pay for years of neglect and government abuse of power.

Is today’s society heading toward annihilation, you be the judge?

The Qur'an 17:104 - states the land belongs to the Jewish people

Every time there is a terrorist act, Israel should vacate an Arab village and raze it.

In most lives, I suppose there comes a time when one has to make a supreme effort that calls for every morsel of more and more endeavor and more than not that effort has to be sustained.
